Dicloxacillin + Ampicillin
Brands like ADC and Amsat combine Dicloxacillin with Ampicillin. This combination is particularly effective against gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria, providing comprehensive coverage for various infections.
Dicloxacillin + Probiotics
Some brands, such as Alnaclox LB and Baxin D LB+, include probiotics like Lactobacillus Sporegens along with Dicloxacillin. This combination aims to reduce gastrointestinal side effects often associated with antibiotic use and promote gut health.
Pricing and Availability of Dicloxacillin Combinations
The pricing of Dicloxacillin combinations can vary depending on the brand, formulation, and location. To find accurate pricing information:
- Check the Medindia drug directory for the specific brand

Indications
Infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, pneumonia, osteomyelitis caused by strains of staphylococci that form beta-lactamase.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to dicloxacillin and penicillins
Precautions
Lactation.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Use in pregnancy
FDA fetal category B.
Adequate and strictly controlled studies on the safety of dicloxacillin during pregnancy have not been conducted.
Animal studies showed no evidence of fetal toxicity.
Dicloxacillin should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Use during breastfeeding
It is not known whether dicloxacillin passes into human breast milk.
Side effects are unlikely in infants.
Caution is advised when prescribing to lactating women.
