Why Does My Plantar Wart Keep Coming Back?

Warts. Just hearing the word can make a lot of Frisco men and women cringe. They’re not fun, not to mention, they’re gross. No one likes dealing with warts of any kind, but plantar warts can be especially frustrating and aggressive. Plantar warts can happen to anyone in Frisco, but they most often affect children and teenagers, people with weakened immune systems, people who have had them before, and people who walk barefoot in high-trafficked, public areas like locker rooms or swimming pool decks. If you have developed plantar warts, call RNV Podiatry today to make an appointment with Dr. Verville. She will be able to fully examine your feet and determine whether or not you are truly suffering from plantar warts, or if it is another form of wart.

The 411 On Plantar Warts

Plantar warts are small growths that appear on the feet, usually on the heels or balls of the feet. These warts are more susceptible to growing inward and having a hard, thick layer of skin covering them.

Warts are caused by a virus, but plantar warts are specifically caused by HPV. This virus can enter the body through small cuts or scrapes on the bottom of Frisco men and women’s feet. Typically, plantar warts do not pose a serious health concern for those who have them, and often even resolve on their own; however, if they do not go away, you should see Dr. Verville to find out how you should treat your specific case of plantar warts, or if you should have them removed.

How To Know If You Are Suffering From Plantar Warts

You will know if you have plantar warts if you experience any of the following symptoms:

A growth on the foot that is different from the normal lines and ridges of your foot

A callus over a spot on the skin of the foot where the wart has grown inward

Black pinpoints, commonly referred to as wart seeds, but which are actually small, clotted vessels

A small, fleshy, rough, grainy growth on the bottom of your foot

Pain or tenderness when putting pressure on the growth

Why Do Plantar Warts Return?

Oftentimes, patients find that their plantar warts return even after they have been treated. So, clearly, people want to know how this happens, and why. Well, regardless of the treatment used, a cure is not guaranteed for plantar warts. The truth is that they can reappear at any time. Sometimes, plantar warts require several rounds of treatment and will only be remedied if you strictly follow the recommendations of Dr. Verville.

If your plantar warts return, it means that HPV is still present in your body and that it is growing. Don’t let this alarm you, though. The type of HPV that leads to plantar warts is very mild and causes few problems. However, you should avoid scratching your plantar warts, as blood that comes from them can cause new warts to appear in the area it touches. You can also spread plantar warts to other parts of the body by touching it and them touching your skin in another area, so be sure to wash your hands well after treating your warts.

Keep Plantar Warts from Growing Back

No matter who you are, or what your background, one thing you share in common with everyone else is that you do not want to find a wart on your skin! These viral growths are unsightly, contagious, and can even cause pain and discomfort. So, naturally, you want to know how to prevent plantar warts from coming back. Let’s start with looking at why warts develop in the first place.

There are many myths and urban legends about warts. The truth of the matter is that they do not come from frogs or witches, but rather a very common virus known as the human papillomavirus (HPV). This virus often can be found in warm, damp environments and only needs a very tiny—microscopic, even!—opening to enter the body. A tiny scrape or cut can allow the virus in, which then results in the development of a wart.

The good news is that plantar warts are not actually dangerous and they go away in time. The bad news, though, is that they can cause pain and embarrassment while they’re around … and it might take a couple of years before they disappear. With that in mind, you likely want to know about preventing warts.

The starting point for wart prevention is protecting your feet. Since the virus often is found in warm, damp environments, make sure you wear clean sandals or shower shoes when you walk in gym locker rooms, showering areas, and indoor pool decks.

HPV is contagious, so avoid touching a wart with your bare skin, even if it’s your own wart! In the event you do touch one (and sometimes it happens by accident), wash the contaminated area as soon as possible with soap and warm, running water.

Another way to reduce your risk of getting a wart is to not share items with someone who has a wart, especially towels, shaving equipment, socks, and shoes. The virus can contaminate these items and then be transferred to you.

This provides a starting point for you to prevent a wart, but we can provide further information. Even better, our Massapequa, NY office provides professional treatment for wart removal. If you, or any of your loved ones, have a plantar wart (one found on the foot), schedule an appointment and we can take care of it for you. 6 Quick Tips to Prevent Plantar Warts

Warts on feet, also known as plantar warts, are a lot more common than you might think. By some estimates, as many as 1 in 10 Americans have them. And even if you don’t have any plantar warts right now, you might remember developing a few back in your younger days.

Consequently, it’s not at all surprising that we treat foot warts quite frequently at our offices in Twin Falls and Burley. It’s a service we’re very happy to provide, of course, but we know it would make our patients even happier if they didn’t have to deal with warts in the first place!

The good news is, while it isn’t always possible to 100% guarantee you would never develop new warts, there are some simple preventative steps you can take to significantly reduce your risk of either contracting plantar warts or multiplying your existing warts.

Here are a few of the most important tips.

Don’t Go Around Barefoot

Plantar warts are caused by certain strains of human papillomavirus, or HPV. These HPV strains tend to congregate in spaces that are warm and moist, where they can spread through indirect contact with various surfaces.

To protect yourself, always wear (at the very least) a pair of sandals or water shoes when you’re out at the pool, or using public facilities like locker rooms, showers, gyms, etc. Not only does this help you reduce the risk of contact with HPV, but it also reduces the risk that you’ll develop tiny cuts and scrapes that the virus can use to get under the skin.

Keep Your Feet Clean and Dry

Wash your feet using a disinfecting soap at least once per day, as well as immediately after spending time in a public area with a greater risk of exposure.

Don’t let your feet stay wet as you go about your day. When skin is wet, it can be damaged much more easily. Unfortunately, the viruses that cause plantar warts don’t need much of an opening—even very small, barely perceptible weak points can often do the trick.

Wearing moisture-wicking socks and breathable shoes can help. If they become damp during the course of the day, switch to new pairs.

Don’t Share Certain Items with Others

Clothing, skin and nail care tools, and other items which could come into contact or close proximity with warts or potentially contaminated skin should not be shared with others. These include things like:

  • Razors
  • Nail clippers
  • Pumice stones/emery boards
  • Socks and shoes
  • Towels

Make sure you have, and use, your own items.

Don’t Touch Warts

So far we’ve been talking about how warts can spread through indirect contact, but we shouldn’t forget to mention they can spread through direct contact, too.

Please do not touch or pick at your warts. This can spread them to your hands, or even to other parts of your body that you touch afterward. Your risk of spreading them to others rises as well.

If you must touch any of your warts, be sure to thoroughly wash your hands with disinfecting soap immediately afterward.

Cover Your Warts

One way to reduce the risk of existing warts spreading or multiplying is to simply cover them with a clean, non-medicated bandage or athletic tape. Once covered, it’s a lot harder for the warts to spread to other places via contact with your hands, socks, shoes, etc.

As a bonus, taping your wart may also provide a small bit of extra cushioning that can reduce any discomfort you might be feeling from standing on the wart.

If You Have Any Plantar Warts, Get Them Treated by a Professional

Plantar warts may not be the most “dangerous” foot problem you can contract, but there’s a reason they’re so common and spread so easily.

The logic for getting your warts treated as soon as possible is simple: the longer you have a wart, the more time it has to spread. Getting rid of them now is as much a preventative care option as an “active” care option.

Warts can take months or years to disappear on their own, and home care methods tend to have very low success rates. That’s why we usually recommend you skip straight to professional care. We have several different treatment options for plantar warts, and can help you select one that is the best fit for your condition and your lifestyle.

How to Keep Plantar Warts from Growing Back: Hubert Lee, DPM: Podiatrist

No matter who you are, one thing you share in common with everyone else is that you don’t want to get a wart, especially on your feet! They are contagious, unattractive, and can cause pain and discomfort. So you need to know how to stop plantar warts from growing back. Today, Dr. Hubert Lee at CarePlus Foot & Ankle Specialists in Bellevue, WA, shares some information about these embarrassing growths.

There are many myths and misconceptions about warts. The truth is that they come from a commonly occurring virus is known as the human papillomavirus (HPV).

Often this virus is found in damp, warm environments. It only requires a small opening to enter your body. Any small cut or scrape can allow the virus to enter the body, resulting in the development of a wart.

The good news is that these warts are not really dangerous, and they typically go away on their own in time. The bad news is that they can cause pain until they disappear, which may take up to a couple of years.

3 Tips for Preventing Warts

1. Protection. The best way to prevent warts is to protect your feet. Typically the virus is found in damp, warm environments, be sure to wear clean shower shoes or sandals when in gym locker rooms, indoor pool decks, and showering areas.

2. Don’t touch! Because HPV is contagious, you must not touch a wart with your bare skin, even if it’s your own! If you happen to do so accidentally, be sure to wash the contaminated area as quickly as possible with soap and warm water.

3. Don’t share.  A third way to reduce your risk of getting a wart is not sharing items with anyone who has a wart, especially shaving equipment, socks, shoes, and towels. HPV can taint these items and then transfer to you.

These tips should provide you with an excellent starting point for wart prevention, and we can provide additional information. Warts (for Kids) – Nemours Kidshealth

What Are Warts?

A wart is a small area of hardened skin that usually has a bumpy surface. Warts come in many sizes, colors, and shapes. They can appear anywhere on the body. Kids get them most often on the hands, feet, and face.

Anybody can get warts, but kids get them more often than adults do. Lots of kids get warts, although some kids never get any warts at all. Doctors really don’t know why some kids get warts. (But they’re sure it’s not from touching frogs or toads!)

The good news is that most warts won’t make you sick or cause a health problem. And if a wart is bothering you, a doctor can remove it.

Why Do Kids Get Warts?

Viruses from the human papillomaviruses (HPV) (say: pah-pih-LOHmah-vy-rus) family cause warts.

HPV viruses are like other germs. The wart virus loves warm, moist places like small cuts or scratches on your hands or feet. Once the virus finds a nice warm place on the skin, a wart begins to develop. Warts can grow for many months — sometimes a year or more — before they are big enough to see. So if you do get a wart, you may never know where you came into contact with HPV.

If you touch a towel, surface, or anything else someone with a wart has used, you can pick up HPV. Kids who bite their fingernails or pick at hangnails get warts more often than kids who don’t. That’s why it’s important to avoid picking, rubbing, or scratching a wart, whether it’s on another person or on your own body.

How Do Warts Look and Feel?

Most warts don’t hurt. But a wart can be annoying if it’s on a part of your body that gets bumped or touched all the time. Different kinds of warts grow on different parts of the body. Some warts are smooth and flat. Some are big, rough bumps. Others are tiny and grow in clusters.

Here are some types of warts:

  • Common warts usually grow on fingers, hands, knees, and elbows. A common wart is dome-shaped and is usually grayish-brown. It has a rough surface with black dots.
  • Flat warts are small and about the size of a pinhead. They’re smoother than other kinds of warts and have flat tops. A flat wart may be pink, light brown, or yellow. Most kids who get flat warts have them on their faces, but flat warts can also grow on arms, knees, or hands. There can be as many as 100 flat warts all clustered together.
  • Although most warts are painless, a wart on the bottom of the foot — called a plantar wart — can really hurt. It can feel like you have a stone in your shoe. To prevent plantar warts, do not walk barefoot in public places — like a gym locker or at a public pool. Also, change your shoes and socks every day and keep your feet clean and dry.
  • You’ve probably seen filiform (say: FIH-luh-form) warts. They’re the kind that witches in movies and fairytale books have on their chins or noses. But you don’t have to be a witch to get one! A filiform wart has a finger-like shape and usually is flesh-colored. It often grows on or around the mouth, eyes, or nose.

How Are Warts Treated?

The treatment for a wart depends on the type of wart a person has. It’s a good idea to have a doctor look at a wart before trying to treat it, especially if it’s on the bottom of your foot.

For some kinds of warts, the doctor may say you don’t need medicines to make them go away. In time, these warts will disappear on their own.

Some warts can be hard to get rid of because the thick layers of skin make it hard for medicine to reach the virus that causes them. There are many ways to treat warts, but treatments can sometimes be tricky. After a wart seems to be removed, it might come right back.

Here are some common ways to get rid of warts:

  • Medicine, which you can buy at a store or your doctor can give you. These contain mild acid that removes the dead skin cells on the wart. A grown-up applies the medicine or you just wear a little medicine patch in that spot. Over time, the wart crumbles away from the healthy skin.
  • Cryosurgery (say: kry-o-SUR-juh-ree), in which the doctor uses a special chemical (sometimes containing liquid nitrogen) to freeze the wart, and a scab usually forms as the skin heals. This treatment is usually repeated every 1 to 3 weeks for a few months to fully kill the virus that causes the wart.
  • Laser treatment may be used for warts that are stubborn and haven’t gone away with other kinds of treatment. A tiny laser can be used to zap a plantar wart or other wart. It may need to be repeated a few times to get rid of deep plantar warts.
  • Other treatments, like burning or scraping the wart off using special tools.

With any of the treatments above, the doctor will take steps to prevent you from feeling pain while the wart is being removed. And after it’s all over, you can wave goodbye to your wart!

Warts – Wart Removal – Wart Freeze

Wart treatment

Warts often disappear on their own, although it may take months or years to do so. But some warts won’t go away on their own and need to be treated. Treatment may decrease the chance that the warts will be spread to other areas of your body or to other people.

Warts on the skin

There are many ways to remove common warts from the skin (such as on the fingers, feet, and knees). Talk to your doctor about which treatment is right for you. Also talk with your doctor before treating warts on your face.

  • Applying salicylic acid. You can treat warts on places such as the hands, feet, or knees by putting salicylic acid (one brand name: Compound W) on the warts. After you take a bath or shower, pat your skin dry with a towel. Then apply the salicylic acid. The acid sinks in deeper and works better when it is applied to damp skin. Before you take a shower or a bath the next day, use an emery board or pumice stone to file away the dead surface of the warts. Apply the acid every day for many weeks as directed.
  • Applying cantharidin. Your doctor may “paint” the chemical cantharidin on your warts. Most people don’t feel any pain when the chemical is applied. However, you may experience some pain and blistering of the wart about 3 to 8 hours later. Follow your doctor’s instructions for at-home care. When you return to your doctor for your follow-up visit, they will remove the dead skin of the wart. If the wart isn’t gone after one treatment, your doctor may suggest another treatment.
  • Applying liquid nitrogen. Your doctor may use liquid nitrogen to freeze the wart. This treatment is called cryotherapy or cryosurgery. This is a two-step process that does not hurt the skin around the wart. Applying liquid nitrogen to the wart causes a little discomfort. To completely remove a wart, the treatments may be needed every 1 to 3 weeks for a total of 2 to 4 times. If no improvement is noted, your doctor may recommend another type of treatment.
  • Other treatments for warts on the skin. Your doctor may choose to burn the wart, cut it out, or remove it with a laser. These treatments are effective, but they may leave a scar. They are normally reserved for warts that have not cleared up with other treatments.

Warts on the genital area

Genital warts must be treated by your doctor. Warts in the genital area can be removed, but there’s no cure for the viral infection that causes the warts. This means that the warts may come back even after they have been removed.

Note that warts on the skin and warts on the genitals are removed in different ways. Don’t try any home remedies or over-the-counter drugs to remove warts on the genital area. You could hurt your genital area by putting certain chemicals on it.

Laser removal of warts in Rostov-on-Don

A wart is not only an unpleasant skin defect, but also a complex disease that needs complex treatment. Laser removal of warts is a safe modern method. It is used all over the world: fast healing and minimal risk of recurrence allows you to remove warts in children and adults without consequences.

Advantages of laser wart removal

  • Elimination of warts allows you to completely cleanse tissues from virus cells.The beam penetrates to the required depth without affecting healthy tissues.
  • During the operation, coagulation occurs – small blood vessels are sealed, thereby eliminating the risk of blood loss and the spread of infection.
  • Minimal risk of consequences in the form of scars and scars.
  • The possibility of re-growth is practically excluded.

Stages of the procedure

Burning warts with a laser does not imply any special special preparation of the patient.Usually, removal is performed on the day the patient goes to the clinic.

Before starting the burning out, the treatment site is disinfected. Local anesthesia is administered to help prevent soreness.

The patient sits on the couch in a position comfortable for the upcoming event. The doctor prepares the laser device for use – adjusts the equipment (beam length, impact force).

Removal is carried out with a device with a tip impulsively.The doctor assesses the depth of the growth, after which, with a short-term exposure, he removes the tissue layer by layer. Not only the body of the wart is processed, but also the nearest healthy tissues. It is necessary to exclude the likelihood of re-emergence of overgrowth. A deep-seated formation (like a spine) must be burned out until the epidermis is clear. Externally, the wound after excision looks like a funnel.

Other methods

Also, in our clinic, you can remove a neoplasm by the method of radio wave excision and cryodestruction.

After the diagnosis, the doctor will be able to choose the desired removal method that is right for you. The procedure assumes a duration of several seconds for one neoplasm. The number of lesions to be removed in one visit is determined by the doctor.

The doctors of the center carry out the removal of neoplasms on any part of the body, including in intimate areas.

Causes of the appearance and types of warts

A wart differs from a mole in a lighter color, from a papilloma – in that it does not have a leg, and from all other skin formations caused by a papillomavirus – a keratinized surface, hard and rough to the touch.The transmission of HPV, which causes the appearance of these skin growths, occurs by contact – through microtraumas on the skin when using items of clothing, household, hygiene of an already infected person.

The carrier of the virus may not have neoplasms, but he still serves as a source of infection. Self-infection is possible by combing or traumatizing neoplasms with clothing and transferring the virus to clean areas of the skin. Plantar warts can appear in the presence of micro-injuries on the legs after visiting a public bath, sauna, pool without protective shoes.

Getting into the body initially, the virus can remain inactive for a long time. But with favorable factors, which include a decrease in immunity, frequent infectious diseases, hormonal disruption of HPV, embedded in DNA, it begins to infect nearby cells of the skin surface, provoking their involuntary division.

Warts are localized in a wide variety of areas of the body, most often on the fingers and toes, hands and feet, but can also appear on the face and soles.Depending on the etiology, pathogenesis and localization, the following types are distinguished:

  • vulgar or common – located on the fingers and back of the hands, feet, toes, rarely on the face;
  • plantar – located on the sole of the foot, can be painful when walking despite the thick stratum corneum;
  • palmar – occur on the palms of people with excessive sweating, often in adolescents and young men, the elderly;
  • youthful, or flat – arise in the process of hormonal failure, except for the skin of the hands and face, mucous membranes, including the genitals and rectum, may be damaged;
  • subungual or periungual – the cause of occurrence may be the habit of gnawing nails and the skin around the nail plate, violation of its integrity;
  • threadlike – located on the skin of the face, neck, in the armpits, under the mammary glands, have an elongated shape, can be caused by hormonal changes during menopause;
  • pointed, or condylomas – are located in the perineum, on the genitals, in children – in the nasolabial folds.

Disposal methods

Depending on the location and type of warts, age, health status and other indications, the method of their removal is also selected. In cosmetology, the removal of these skin formations began a long time ago, so there are several proven ways to eliminate them:

  • surgical treatment – removal of especially overgrown and merged neoplasms by means of their excision;
  • cryodestruction – liquid nitrogen is used to treat formations for deep freezing with subsequent destruction;
  • electrocoagulation – the use of a metal loop under a high frequency current, which cuts off the wart with simultaneous coagulation of blood vessels;
  • laser removal of warts – exposure to a tuned laser beam, which evaporates only abnormal cells.

Excision with a scalpel, destruction with nitrogen and exposure to high-frequency current are fraught with the appearance of scars and scars of varying visibility that do not disappear over time. In addition to the absence of such consequences, the laser has additional advantages that are not observed with other procedures for removing neoplasms.

Advantages of laser treatment for wart removal

Compared to other procedures, the laser provides:

  • inviolability of healthy tissues – vaporization concerns only pathological cells of the wart and the virus contained in them;
  • exclusion of the formation of scars or scars after removal of the skin outgrowth;
  • absence of bleeding and rapid healing of the treatment site;
  • regeneration of the natural process of skin renewal due to the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin fibers in the area of exposure to the laser beam.

Erbium, dioxide or diode laser is used for the procedure.

Contraindications

One of the advantages of the procedure is the small number of contraindications, which are common to most therapeutic procedures:

  • presence of other infectious diseases;
  • oncological pathologies;
  • chronic diseases in the stage of destruction;
  • diabetes mellitus in the acute stage;
  • various blood diseases;
  • exacerbation of diseases of the circulatory system and / or hematopoietic organs;
  • severe mental disorders, epilepsy;
  • inflammatory process in the area of exposure to the laser beam;
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • the presence in the body of medical devices with metal parts: pacemakers, pumps, implanted hearing aids.

90,000 Warts (human papillomavirus infection)

Plantar, flat and vulgar warts, genital warts are diseases caused by human papillomaviruses.More than 120 human papillomaviruses are known to be pathogenic. Most of them are oncogenic, that is, they contribute to the development of cancer. This infection is transmitted by contact: when shaking hands, trying on and wearing contaminated shoes, during sexual intercourse.

Plantar warts are very often mistaken for calluses, as they are painful callosities-like thickening of the stratum corneum on the soles of the feet at the points of greatest pressure. In the center of such formations, loose, whitish, yellow or even black horny masses often appear, crumbled during scraping, after which a crater-like depression is formed, which is subsequently re-filled with hyperkeratotic layers.Attempts at self-treatment have been unsuccessful. The use of modern external remedies for the removal of plantar warts and even surgical excision or cryodestruction are ineffective, accompanied by relapses in the same places and the appearance of new elements.

Vulgar warts mainly affect the palms and fingers of the hands, they are single dense nodules of the color of the surrounding skin with a bumpy rough surface. Most often, children are sick, in whom sometimes warts can disappear on their own even without treatment.The disease is quite contagious and easily spreads in children’s groups, while adults are much less susceptible to it. Sometimes, if the rules of personal hygiene are violated, autoinoculation (self-infection) can occur, when warts from the hands spread to the genitals, anus, and eyelids.
Flat warts mainly affect the skin of the face and the back of the hands. Children and young women are more often affected. They look like flat small multiple pale pink or unchanged skin nodules slightly raised above the skin level.
Genital warts or venereal warts are sexually transmitted infections. They look like soft conical nodules located on the genitals or anus on a narrow leg of pale pink or normal skin color. Often they merge into formations that resemble cauliflower in their lobed structure. Their surface can macerate and give off an unpleasant odor. A severe form of genital warts, which occurs in pregnant women and in patients with severe immunodeficiency, is the giant Bushke-Levenshtein warts, which is a tumor rapidly forming from merged warts up to a fist or more, having a lobular structure, between the lobules – pus with a pungent odor.The tumor quickly grows into the underlying tissues and transforms into squamous cell carcinoma of the skin.

Rare forms of human papillomavirus infection are Lewandowski-Lutz verruciform epidermodysplasia and bowenoid papulosis. The first of these diseases usually manifests itself in childhood in the form of warty elements. On the face and neck, they resemble flat warts, on the arms and legs, they look like vulgar warts with a tendency to cluster and merge into large warty plaques.On the torso, rashes can resemble the manifestations of multi-colored lichen. The disease is not prone to spontaneous resolution and, over time, undergoes malignant transformation in open areas of the skin.
Bowenoid papulosis is manifested by red-brown or cyanotic plaques with an uneven surface on the genitals. Histologically, the rash is similar to skin cancer, but the course is quite benign.
Complex therapy is required with the use of antiviral, immunostimulating agents, special preparation with ointments followed by thermal destruction of rashes by diathermocoagulation, laser or radio wave method.Cryodestruction and surgical removal are ineffective. To prevent re-infection through linen, shoes and household items, thermal or chemical disinfection is required. To prevent infection, when trying on new shoes in the store, you should use clean socks or socks, and the purchased shoes should be chemically disinfected before use. When visiting the beach, pool, bathhouse or sauna, it is necessary to wear rubber or plastic shoes, which should also be periodically treated with disinfectants.

Why laser? – Medical Center Orchid

Laser removal is the most effective method for removing
neoplasms on the soles of the feet, hands and fingers. Coagulation takes place under
local anesthesia, so the method is quite applicable for sensitive areas –
on the face, neck, armpits, on the external genitals. This way
much less painful than chemical and cryodestruction.Laser fast
removes formations on the skin, at the same time disinfects the wound, rarely causes
scar formation, its effectiveness is higher than other known methods. However,
laser removal has contraindications and possible consequences. That’s why
Before using the method, you should evaluate all the pros and cons.

Using a laser, you can perform various manipulations:
removal of plantar warts with a laser – such neoplasms develop on
the skin of the feet and are horny solid layers with a shaft in the center;

removal of common or vulgar warts; deletion
flat warts – nodules from 1 mm to 1 cm, which rise slightly above
surface of the skin, but the color does not differ from it.

The technology has no localization restrictions. By using
laser can remove warts on the face, legs, arms, armpits
cavities, on the genitals, that is, almost everywhere where physical
or a cosmetic defect. Especially effective is laser therapy of palmar
formations – both single and multiple. When the warts are burned out
laser, more often it is possible to avoid relapse. Is it possible to delete in this way
warts in children?

Answering this question, experts note that cleaning
warts in a child with a laser can be at any age, as soon as the defect begins
deliver significant inconvenience.And if there is a need to operate
child, it is better to resort to the laser procedure, as the least traumatic.
Most often, such defects are observed in children after 5 years. Sometimes they form
on the soles of the feet and cause physical discomfort, as they rub when
walking cause pain. Heel wart in children often goes away
independently for 1-1, 5 years and does not require treatment. But if education
grows and begins to bleed, it must be removed. Such a wart
may require a longer healing period, but also responds well
laser removal.Less commonly, warts appear on the face and hands, where they look like
flesh-colored or yellowish plaques. They may not be visible, but if
there are many warts, this can lead to psychological problems. Now,
when a laser appeared in the arsenal, you can not expect that the child will “outgrow”
problem, and sign up for the removal of the defect.

For children, laser wart removal can be performed both under
local anesthesia, and does not cause pain, both under general anesthesia (anesthesia)
with a negative reaction to manipulation, expressed fear, fear, especially in
young children.Manipulation usually lasts a few minutes, healing
takes several days. Removal of papillomas, as a rule, goes without
consequences.

How to prepare for the manipulation and how is it carried out? For
prevention of complications, before removing the wart with a laser, it is recommended
reduce light load on the skin and avoid contact with chemical
substances. A week before the procedure, you need to give up sunbathing, solarium.
If laser cauterization of warts is carried out in the summer, then it is recommended
use a cream with a high SPF index.

Before the procedure, you should undergo a medical examination and check availability
contraindications. Laser cauterization of a wart involves the complete removal of it
body, it will not be possible to take material for histological examination. That’s why
examination for good quality must be passed in advance. Front
with the moxibustion procedure, the specialist examines the neoplasm, selects
the intensity of laser exposure, clarifies the nature of anesthesia.

The procedure itself is precise and delicate.The concentrated flux of light particles generates heat on
the surface of the pathological formation and its tissues evaporate layer by layer from
top to bottom. Acting carefully, the surgeon does not touch the located
next to the fabric. The laser beam also cauterizes the vessels that feed the wart, therefore
bleeding from the wound is excluded. Completely burning organic matter, laser beam
disinfects the wound.

The duration of the procedure depends on the size of the formation and
more localization. This can be from 1-2 minutes to half an hour.Longest
there is a laser removal of plantar warts – the beam must evaporate the body
growths, including roots, to prevent re-spread of the virus. For
removal of a wart on the foot requires only one laser manipulation, and today
it is the most effective treatment.

Final stage – wound treatment. After laser removal
a bloodless burnt trail remains, which disappears 1-2 weeks after
procedures, depending on the care and the degree of rest. The doctor will further explain that
to do after laser wart removal and how to care for the wound until complete
recovery.Advantages and disadvantages of the laser method.

Laser treatment of warts – the most modern, effective and
a quick way to get rid of unwanted growths. The procedure has a number of
advantages: painlessness; sterility of the wound and practically zero risk
infection;

no bleeding after treatment; absence
damage to surrounding tissues; the lowest risk of scarring, scars,
changes in skin color; short period of exposure to the device – you can burn out
papilloma on the face in 3-5 minutes, on the sole, the treatment will take up to half an hour; for
wart removal only needs one session; the laser is suitable for any growths
type and location; negligible risk of recurrence, since the papilloma virus
a person is destroyed along with the affected tissues; lack of age
restrictions.

The main disadvantage of the procedure is its cost. Also
it must be borne in mind that after removal of especially large warts remain
traces. In rare cases, scars are possible with small formations – they
appear as a result of low regenerative properties of tissues. In case of violation
postoperative care rules, there is a risk of inflammation and suppuration of the wound.
Laser removal on the sole requires a long rest period. Large
lesions also take longer to heal.

Local anesthesia itself can cause side effects.
reactions in the form of dizziness, changes in pressure, drowsiness, general fatigue.If you have already had negative reactions to anesthesia, you should be warned about
consult a physician or consider other methods. Is it painful to remove a wart with a laser?

If you are worried if it hurts to remove warts with a laser
children and adults, it is in vain. The manipulations are carried out under local anesthesia,
the patient does not feel what is happening. But if we are talking about small children, then they
may experience psychological discomfort. Will the baby cry in the chair
laser surgeon – depends on the pre-setting.Remember that during
it is not recommended to remove diseases.

The method is recognized as the most painless – laser removal
warts in children is more acceptable than cryodestruction, electrocoagulation and, therefore
more, chemical destruction. The body of the wart is removed completely, and the skin after
manipulation heals faster than with other methods. Deleting
plantar wart laser causes slightly more postoperative
discomfort as the area is usually larger than other areas and the area
the soles are exposed to heavy loads.

But during the operation, the growths are removed without unpleasant
sensations. Parents do not have to worry – do not laser cauterize warts
painful, although healing is sometimes unpleasant. Consequences and possible
complications. Laser wart removal has its pros and cons. Some
patients complain that the papilloma was removed badly or she
painfully heals. It can be due to actions or predisposition
the patient himself.

Main complications and consequences of laser wart removal
– these are scars and scars.They arise from:

skin predisposition to the formation of keloids;
injury and infection of the wound; violations of the rules of care during
rehabilitation period.

A scar is inevitable with large wounds deepened under
papillary layer of the skin. At the same time, the skin color changes.

If the scar is on hidden areas of the body that are not visible
strangers, you do not need to delete it. When there is a risk of noticeable cosmetic
defect, the patient is recommended drugs that prevent the formation
rough scars (Contractubex, hydrocortisone ointment, Panavir).Large
keloid scars can subsequently be removed by cryodestruction, microwave therapy,
electrocoagulation. Also, separate recommendations are given on how and how to process
wound.

Possible complications include burns and redness, and
the presence of sensitivity to light exposure – also the appearance of puffiness.
Subject to the rules during the rehabilitation period, such consequences do not arise.
If the burn appears and does not go away, you should consult your doctor.

After the operation, subfebrile may persist for several days.
temperature is a natural reaction of the body.But when the patient combs
the wound and introduces an infection, at the site of the removed papilloma may appear
inflammation. If it does not go away for more than 10 days, you should contact the surgeon,
who performed the operation. The doctor will prescribe antiseptics and antibiotics for
wound treatment.

In case of poor pain tolerance or dehiscence of the wound edges
the sensations after surgery can be particularly uncomfortable. If the wound was
infected and inflamed, the pain gets worse. In this case, you need
consult a doctor – you may need to rinse with antiseptics, apply
stitches or taking painkillers.It is important not to self-medicate, but to go to
specialist for any signs of discomfort. How long does the wound heal?

First instructions on how to care for a wound after
laser wart removal, you will receive at the hospital. Healing takes place in
several stages:

First, a scab forms on the wound – a dry crust, under which
tissues heal.

OK, as long as normal wound care is provided after
remove warts with a laser and do not comb it, the crust leaves in 5-10 days,
depending on the area of the wound, the age of the patient and the ability of the skin to
regeneration.

One month after removal, the relief and skin color are leveled
and becomes indistinguishable from the surrounding tissues.

Existing diseases can prolong the healing period,
for example, diabetes mellitus, bleeding disorders, hormonal
violations. These factors are contraindications to the procedure. Terms of rehabilitation
tightened with suppressed immunity, in the absence of proper wound care,
when drinking and smoking, which slows down the regenerative processes.It is impossible to say exactly how much the wound heals after laser removal in these
cases.

The surgeon gives detailed instructions on how and how to handle
wound after removal of the wart with a laser. Caring for this wound requires protection from
mechanical damage. If it is a plantar wart, then it is better in the first
days to sit at home and walk barefoot, keeping the intervention site open
air. If you need to walk, use comfortable shoes.

A wound of any localization must not be wetted for at least 3 days after
operations, or better – when the crust falls off.For daily processing usually
0.5% chlorhexidine solution, potassium permanganate is used. After the crust has fallen off
the trail is smeared with Kontraktubex or another drug from the formation of scars.

To avoid pigmentation, infection of wound tissue,
formation of a keloid scar, in the first month it is not recommended to take hot
bath, sit in the steam room, visit the pool or open water, influence
on the skin with aggressive cosmetics. Relapse prevention.

Entering the body, the human papillomavirus, which causes
the growth of warts, does not leave it and is activated when the immune
systems.It cannot be 100% guaranteed that after the removal of the wart it will not
will appear again. But you can minimize the risk.

Immediately after the operation, purchase funds than to process
areas of the skin after removal of the wart with a laser, – antiseptics, which include
does not include alcohol or harsh chemicals. Until the wound is completely healed
the place of intervention should not be applied with cosmetics or sealed with a plaster.

The risk of recurrence depends on the individual characteristics of your
organism.In the presence of skin diseases, low immunity, multiple
neoplasms are at increased risk. If during the rehabilitation period
the surface of the wound is completely smoothed, the likelihood of reappearance
warts are minimal.

90,000 Warts – the reasons for the appearance and how to get rid of. Types of warts, their location

Reasons for the appearance and methods of removing warts on the body and hands

Warts are a frequent occurrence that can be seen on any part of the body.Few people know that warts are a sign of the presence of the human papillomavirus in the body. No one is immune from this phenomenon, so you need to know the types of warts and where they appear so that you can quickly respond with competent treatment.

Types of warts

Warts are diagnosed more often in childhood and adolescence, but they can also be in adults. In medicine, the following types of warts are distinguished:

  1. Simple / vulgar. The most common type of neoplasm on the skin is diagnosed in 70% of cases in school-aged children.Most often, warts of this type appear on the hands, but they can also be present on the border of the lips and on the neck. Simple warts are distinguished by the presence of one of the largest, “maternal” warts – if it is removed, then even smaller neoplasms disappear.
  2. Flat / Youth. They are rare – only up to 4% of diagnosed cases. They are located on the back of the hands, along the border of the lips, on the head of the penis, on the oral mucosa.
  3. Palmar-plantar.They appear in the places of the most active pressure of uncomfortable shoes. Diagnosis of this type of warts is often difficult, because the specialist must differentiate the neoplasm in question from the corns, calluses.
  4. Threaded. Differs in a specific appearance – a small “tail” made of thin skin, there can be many of them and they are always “heaped”. Most often found in the armpits, on the neck, under the breast / mammary glands.

Methods for removing warts on the body and hands directly depends on what type of neoplasm is diagnosed in the patient.

It is worth knowing one more feature of warts – they do not have any one exact description of “appearance”. For example, a plantar wart may be a small, rounded lump with a dark center, but a simple wart is a skin growth that has an irregular structure. The easiest way to answer the question “what does a wart look like?” It is noteworthy that frequent rubbing against the wart leads to its inflammation and irritation – it turns red and can cause pain.

How to treat warts on the hands and body
