Russian analogues of imported drugs with prices

Pharmacological action

Antifungal agent, antibiotic of the polyene group. By binding to sterols in the cell membrane of fungi, it disrupts its permeability, which leads to the release of the main components of the cell. Active against Candida albicans.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration, it is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It is excreted almost completely with feces unchanged. Does not accumulate.

When applied externally and locally, it is not absorbed through the skin or mucous membranes.

Indications

Candidiasis of the skin, mucous membranes, oral cavity and pharynx, vagina and internal organs (gastrointestinal tract, lungs, kidneys). Prevention of fungal complications of antimicrobial therapy.

Dosage regimen

Inside adults – 500,000-1,000,000 IU 3-4 times / day, children – 100,000 4 times / day. The duration of treatment averages 14 days.

Externally, intravaginally and rectally, apply 2 times a day in the morning and evening.

Side effects

From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, urticaria.

Local reactions: irritation.

Possible risk of spread of resistant forms of fungi, which requires the withdrawal of nystatin.

Contraindications for use

Liver failure, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, hypersensitivity to nystatin.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Although nystatin is absorbed in small amounts, it is not known whether it is excreted in breast milk, therefore, if use during lactation is necessary, consideration should be given to stopping breastfeeding.

Use in children

Children aged 1-3 years are prescribed 250,000 IU 3-4 times / day, over the age of 3 years – 250,000-500,000 IU 4 times / day. The duration of treatment is 10-14 days. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after a week.

Overdose

No cases of Nystatin overdose have been reported to date.

Drug interactions

With the simultaneous use of nystatin with clotrimazole, the activity of the latter is reduced.

Terms and conditions of storage

List B. The drug in the form of tablets should be stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 18°-20°C.

The drug in the form of ointment, vaginal suppositories and rectal suppositories should be stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 5°C.

The shelf life of the drug in the form of tablets, vaginal suppositories, rectal suppositories is 2 years, the shelf life of the drug in the form of an ointment is 3 years.

Terms of dispensing from pharmacies

The drug is dispensed by prescription.

Use in hepatic impairment

Contraindicated in hepatic impairment.

Special instructions

If local irritation or allergic reaction develops, nystatin should be discontinued.

Treatment should not be interrupted during menstruation.

For fungal diseases of the vagina, simultaneous treatment of the sexual partner is recommended. During the treatment period, it is recommended to avoid sexual intercourse.

What to do if you have been prescribed a Polish medicine and you need to read the instructions? For this, the e-PIL database has been created. This is an electronic version of the leaflet, translated into Ukrainian. But keep in mind that in the e-PIL database you will only find prescription drugs.
