Outstanding products

I’ve been using this product for two years now, along with Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5, Retinol 1% in Squalane, and the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I am 65 years old going to be 66 soon. My face has changed so much that people who see me now don’t recognize me. People who meet me for the first time think I am 45 years old. My 42-year-old daughter asked me what I did. Now she is buying these products. I thought people were joking with me when they thought my daughter was my sister! The first photo is me two years ago and the second one is now. I have also lost 35lbs over this time span.

Redness

I was so excited to read about this product and had such high hopes. I don’t want to give up on it because I really want it to work. I suffer from roseacea and hate my redness. I bought the rose hip oil and the retinol oil by the Ordinary. I have found that my skin is redder and feels so dry. I haven’t used the retinol for 3 days as I thought it was that causing the redness. The rosehip oil seems so gentle at first, but this morning i have woken up and my skin is redder than ever. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? Thank you

I’ve used several different products from The Ordinary and loved them so I had high hopes for this. Unfortunately it smells horribly. When I opened the bottle it was unpleasant but once I started to apply it, the smell became overpowering. It was so revolting that I immediately washed it off. Two hours later I still smell it. I’m returning it first thing tomorrow.

It works but very oily

I use this product with several other steps from The Ordinary. I use it before applying my moisturizer and it is very oily. Yes, I understand it’s an oil but I wasn’t expecting the greasy feeling to last so long. A little bit definitely goes a long way! I apply it both day and night and the next morning when I wake up my skin is super soft but still pretty oily. I don’t think it has a fish smell like some other reviews say. I think it smellys rosey and earthy. I also use it on my hands for extra moisurizer when needed and it works great for that too! Overall, I recommend at least trying it and giving it a few weeks before you decide whether you like it or not. Give it time to work.

This product has become a staple in my night routine. I put it on top of my moisturizer or retinol and it helps keep my skin moisturized. I can be sensitive and break out to new products but i never had any issues with this oil. The only con is i wish it absorbed a little faster.

Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water-based serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure.

Caution: Retinol can cause irritation, redness and peeling, especially around the eyes and mouth, in the early stages of treatment while skin builds tolerance. If persistent irritation occurs, cease use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised. Refer to our in-depth guide to patch testing. Keep out of reach of children. Refrigerate after opening.

Contraindications: Do not use in the same routine as other retinoids, direct acids, pure or ethylated vitamin C, or ”Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1%.

Took a month and a half to adapt but…

Hi! So, I’ve been using this product since november 2020 and wanted to share my experience. I have oily skin and quite a lot of acne. Well, in the first month and a half, I used this product once a week and noticed that, in the days after using it, I had more pimples in my face, but after a while everything started to go smoothly and now (May, 2021), since puberty, its the first time that I’m being able to go outside without using makeup because my face cleared up so much < 3
So, even if you notice a bit more acne in the begining, don’t freak out, your skin also needs time to adapt to these new procucts

Alright; Concern about jojoba oil in formula

I did not see much results and I still get 2-3 cysts/papules/pustules every month. At the moment I am attributing this to the fact that I may have not used it regularly enough (I skipped for a few days in between) + also perhaps because I did not refrigerate as suggested. I am about to try the 0.5% Retinol in squalane hoping this one works out better. However I have a few questions:
1. Is it safe to use the product more than 3 months after opening it?
2. The website mentions that “plant oils in retinol formulations can trigger lipid peroxidation and can impair retinol integrity. This formula does not contain water, silicones, plant oils or alcohol” . I am very confused about this point – the website also mentions Jojoba oil amongst the ingredient list for this product. Squalane is also usually plant derived.

I got this serum after my facial lady told me to start with low percentages when it comes to first time retinol users. Make sure you don’t mix with other actives (BHAs/AHAs). Do your research! Only use at night and try the “sandwich” method.

Didn’t work for me

This didn’t work for me at all. Now, I didn’t know you were supposed to refrigerate it until after 2 weeks of use so this could be why. I’m not purchasing another to see if that is why, however. Nowhere on the package does it say to refrigerate it so that really needs to be added.

I switched to this one after getting the 0.5% and my skin does better with the lower percent. Not as harsh, and does not irritate my skin like the stronger one does. I use it 3 times a week and it does fine with my dry sensitive skin!

Properties

Bio-Oil Specialist Skin Care Oil (Bio-Oil Oil for skin care) for all skin types, including for the sensitive.

Bio-Oil Skin Care Oil is a unique treatment that reduces the appearance of scars and stretch marks, and combats premature skin aging and dehydration . The product based on natural essential oils and vitamins makes the skin supple, nourishes, softens and moisturizes. Favorably affects aging skin, is an excellent prevention of the appearance of wrinkles and sagging, makes the skin tone more uniform. Bio-Oil Specialist Skin Care Oil also effectively protects the dermis from moisture loss, forming an additional protective mantle on the skin surface. The lightness of the oil is given by the special component PurCellin Oil ™, due to which the product is quickly absorbed without leaving a greasy film.

Efficiency proven by numerous clinical studies:

• reduction in the visibility of scars – significant result after 2 weeks in 66% of participants, after 8 weeks visible improvement in 92%;
• post-acne scars – more than 84% noted improvement in general condition, more than 90% – clarification of scars;
• reduction in the appearance of stretch marks/stretch marks – significant result after 2 weeks in 95% of participants, after 8 weeks – in 100%.
