I started taking the rx on 2/14 at 37.5 mg every day at 9am. The energy is mild, doesn’t keep me up past midnight. I still eat dinner but snack the rest of the day at work. No cotton mouth. However, I’ve gained 4 lbs and haven’t gone up or down since that 4 lbs. And that’s it. I hate that this is working for every one else in the world but me. Like wth am I doing wrong!? I’m so close to just trashing it.

So a former friend of mine kept suggesting I take this drug because I gain to lose weight and my work keeps me busy. So because it is a narcotic I was very hesitant. Finally I decided a week ago to make an appointment. Day 1 – I experienced anxiety, increased energy, insomnia and brain fog. Day 2 – 5 Increased Brain fog, dry mouth and insomnia. Day 6 is today ?? increased brain fog and I’m sure I can’t sleep later. It is working to where I have no appetite at all. I find that I am reminding myself when to eat and stay hydrated. Does it get better ? I don’t want to lose my job.

1 month in and have lost 14.5 pounds on the Doctors scale. Initially side effects were bad headache and night and insomnia. That went away after week 1. Since then dry mouth and constipation have been usual. Simply trying to avoid certain types of carbs and junk food at all costs. I’ve got a Peleton I ride 3 times per week along with two light strength training sessions. 5’9. 207 pounds when I started. 192.5 this morning. Looking for 170-175.

I am 48, 5,5” 140 lbs. I have been taking this drug for 3 months now and have lost 17 pounds. I have also been on a very low carb diet and exercise sometimes. It has always worked great for me with mild side effects such as dry mouth. I drink LOTS of water and do not eat much at all because of loss of appetite. I usually have to force myself to eat. The first time I took Phentermine it felt exactly like adderall (no appetite and so much energy. I have only been taking it for 6 days now and already feel like the effects have worn off and I’m only getting bad side effects. When I take it in the morning around 8 am I start feeling very hungry at 2pm. Not only do I start feeling hungry I have a horrible headache, I am extremely tired, and feel like “blah”. I am 5’9 and 165 pounds. 3 out of the 6 days I exercised but after 3 days of taking the pill I’ve felt so sleepy that I don’t want to go to the gym. I have still stuck with my diet and don’t eat very much but idk what to do know that I feel like it stopped working and making me feel so gross.

I was prescribed this medication as part of a clinical trial. The trial was remote (zoom) care versus in person care. In the first month, I lost 14lbs. I made significant diet changes (to low carb) and introduced some exercises. The 2nd month was a little less productive and I only lost 6lbs. I actually increased my heartrate during exercise at the suggestion of an exercise therapist. I added a couple low carb advertised bread products to my diet (bread and a bagel). I think the “low carb” is not correct on the nutritionals. I’m starting my 3rd and last month. After the clinical trial, the physician agreed to keep me on and prescribe something different. My insurance is not great, so it appears the only thing I could afford is Contrave (you can purchase with special direct pricing for $99/mo). I would rate Phentermine as good. It’s not a miracle pill. You have to put in the work and change your diet. I think it gave me a great start and hopefully the launching pad I need to success in weight loss. YOU NEED TO STILL EAT HEALTHY AND EXERCISE ON THIS DRUG!! If you still have the same exact bad habits you’re not going to lose much weight. I’ve been taking it for about 5 weeks i’m on my second round now and i’ve lost 15-20 pounds. I was 220 my goal is 160-150 and i’m about 202 right now. I take half a pill when i wake up and then the other half at about 1 or 2pm and that helps with the energy crash. I’ve been on an exercise plan for weight loss, eating way less, and drinking half my body weight in ounces. Though it helps, this is NOT a magic pill. You still have to put in the work.

I have always gone up and down in weight. Not because of bad eating but stress. I asked my doctor about this medicine and she approved me. I started 12 days ago and I have lost 11 lbs so far. I am only looking to.lose ten more. It does work great for curbing appetite. You will have nights you can’t sleep and you will have dry mouth. I don’t mind the mild side effects. I’m happy to be losing at a steady pace and I honestly haven’t been on a restricted diet or excersise excessively. Just eat less…and the medication will most definitely help you in that area.

I am 5’10” and started at 240lbs. I have been on phentermine for a month and a half now. I have lost 20lbs by eating healthier and have added just a small amount extra of exercise. I have recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis so I cannot do much exercise without pain. Side effects so far have been dry mouth, headaches in the afternoon, and sometimes very tired in the afternoon like I’m crashing. I am only doing it for 3 months to kickstart my diet. I don’t eat junk food like I used to and don’t crave it. I am satisfied just eating healthy food. If I do eat junk I am satisfied just having one cookie.

I’ve been taking this for 22 days, and walking on a treadmill for 40 minutes 5 days a week to the point that I’m sweating quite a bit and…. I’ve only lost a few pounds! Some days I lose a half a pound and other days I gain a pound! My weight just keeps fluctuating up and down within 5 pounds of where I started 3 weeks ago. What is going on with me? I am 57 and going through menopause so maybe it affects this. Otherwise, my energy level is great and I do forget to eat sometimes which is new for me and I’m enjoying that. I am always thirsty and a little jittery, and sometimes don’t sleep well, but with menopause I haven’t slept well in a long time anyway. I have an anxiety disorder and it’s making me a little more anxious than usual, but overall, all of the side effects are tolerable. Now if only my body would start shedding the weight. I have a followup appt coming up and will definitely ask my doctor what’s going on.

This drug is not gonna work if you dont exercise. With excercise you can lose up to 10-15lb in a month. Side effect is plenty energy then after a few hours you sort of relapse. I hate that feeling. You isolate yourself when you relapse not wanting to talk. What i hate about it is i think its breaking my hair from the actual roots. I actually feel the drug attacking my hair follicle from different side of my head it never used to fo this to me. IT CAUSES HAIR LOSS PEOPLE. The other day a i saw a big patch on my edges i know its the drug. It also makes side of my face numb or my arms or i just feel numb and tingly and cold all over. These feelings make me depressed. So i need to lose 10Lb more to get to 155 and I’ll stop it just because i hate how my head feels when i relapse from this dern thing

I am 54, 5’4 female who gained 16 lbs in the last 7 months as a result of overeating and inactivity while teleworking due to COVID. With a starting weight of 156lb on 10/19/2020, I started taking a half dose of phentermine (37.5mg) ) in combination with the 17 Day Diet and increased exercise (either walking, light Jogging, or biking 4-5 days a week). After 34 days I lost 18 pounds and now weigh 138. I am thrilled with my results and finally feel like my old self again! My side effects from phentermine are suppressed appetite, increased energy and thirst, dry mouth upon waking, occasional constipation, and a tendency to become overly focused. No increase in blood pressure and no headaches. I have no need for a full dose and suspect I would experience difficulty sleeping. will not increase to a full dose. as the 1/2 tablet is all I need. If I did, I suspect I would experience more negative side effects such as sleeplessness. Phentermine has definitely given me increased energy while helping me stop snacking and get my food portions under control.

I’ve noticed a crazy amount of changes since upping the medication, i’m much more manic, i can’t feel sad or cry anymore when I used to cry at kids commercials (lol), very irritable all the time, mood changes, almost no appetite, i’ll feel hungry but if i don’t eat then it goes away and when i do it it’s very little at a time, very very thirsty thought I always have something to drink next to me at all times. used to get very restless, almost insomniac but it’s gone away with time. Started Phentermine 37.5mg the other day. I had palpitations, was sweaty, and couldn’t sleep that night. It also made me clench my teeth all night. The next day I just took half a tab and feel much more normal. I definitely feel more awake and not hungry, but no crazy side effects at all. I’m sticking with the half dose and will see what my weight loss results are in a month or so. If i can tolerate this half dose for a few days I may try taking the other half in the evening and see what happens.

I had stopped all soda and increased h3O intake prior to start. I am making up my diet as I go. So far I am trying if it is white don’t bite. Meaning no carbs no sugar and no starches or gluten. I just took my first dose. The doc prescribed 15 mg but I felt like that might be too much. I ended up taking some of it out. I have a history of panic and anxiety attacks and wanted to try to introduce it to my system very slowly. Within 30 minutes of taking this, I felt a tingling sensation all over my body. It was a strange sensation but nothing unbearable. Also, I have a bit of energy but it’s not causing a rapid heart rate or anything. Tomorrow I will take the full dose and post an update.

Then it wore off and I began getting cold sweats .. that went away and now I mainly have horrible nipple pain .. feels like rug burn on my nipples .. lasts about 30 minutes not everyday but usually if my nipples get cold they hurt so bad .
