Thoughts First of all, the outside of the box was beautiful — and I’m not just saying that because I’m partial to flowers. I adore the fact that Rose War Panty Power actually gives you period underwear, which I’m assuming are (for obvious reasons) meant to be semi-ugly. I enjoyed the makeup applicator and lip balm, but I was unsure how they were supposed to help my period or PMS symptoms — I can’t eat any of them, nor can I use them to soak up blood or soothe intense cramps. I do understand the candle, because zen. But to me, the overall scope of the box seemed a little unorganized.

Thoughts Let’s just say this: If your period caught you by surprise and you can’t seem to dig up one pad or tampon, Sao Simple has you covered. There were eight tampons, four pads, and even a pocket container of Advil. I don’t know about you, but that’s enough to last me almost a week. So in the most practical way, it helps quite a bit. However, if you’re like me (a girl who perpetually packs tampons in every bag she owns just in case), then more than likely you’ll already have plenty of supplies for your next “crimson wave.” So I don’t know if this is the best box for period-preppers. Overall, Sao Simple gets major kudos from me for its practicality and humanitarianism (with every box sold, they donate feminine care to local women’s shelters). The champagne gummy bears didn’t hurt, either.

Thoughts Wow. The sheer number of goodies in this box would give anyone a boost. But the best part about Lotus Box as a whole, I think, is that there was a great balance between period needs (tampons, Midol, chocolate, heat pad, panties) and girl needs (earrings, makeup bag, nail polish). Also, I can’t really explain why, but I loved that there was a small green leaf included. It somehow made the box feel more fresh.

Thoughts Strange, very strange. The PMS Package gave me just two helpful things in the entire box and the rest was all snacks (which I’m not complaining about). But these snacks were all so random! Like, what do cowboy-shaped cinnamon grahams have to do with periods? If they were chocolate-covered graham crackers, I might understand. On that note, I did enjoy the make-your-own ice cream addition. Random, but intriguing. So although I can’t imagine myself ever craving Beanitos chips and cowboy cookies while on my period, there is one very useful thing about this box: You can choose whether you want pads or tampons, as well as what size you’d like (heavy flow ladies, this is for you). I’ve never been a pad girl, so I did appreciate this immensely. Overall, with the interesting variety of snacks, limited use, and high price point, I would approach it cautiously.

Thoughts If there ever was a period-saver, it would be ElleBox. I love that similar to Lotus Box, ElleBox gives you many options to for personalization. You can choose tampons, pads, or a mix. And for those looking to save money (hi!), you can choose a box that has just the essentials (The Essentials Box) or a box with some extra PMS love (The Comfort Box). Ultimately, ElleBox gets top points for practicality, since everything in here was useful for my period. I also really enjoyed their little fold-out newsletter (not pictured). In Clock PMS you can define and manage tariff packages. These rates include the guest accommodation fee and the extra service fee. In WRS your customer sees the rate for staying at your hotel and uses the included package. Clock PMS provides you with a detailed breakdown of the items included in the tariff package for various control options.

Note: In order to set up and use advanced rate features in Clock PMS, you need to install the Advanced Rate Management extension.

Creating and editing tariff packages and package elements

• Go to “Settings” – “Tariff package” and click the “New” button

• Enter the name of the tariff package and click “Save”

• In the Package items section, click Add. After that, select an accrual template. Determine whether this service will be charged only for the first night, then check the box in the First night only item or for each day (you do not need to check the box). If you need to change the price in absolute value, select the item “Price (different from template)”, enter a new price and currency. If you need to take a percentage of the original price of the template, select the “percentage” item and write the desired percentage. For example, you need to take 20% of 1000, in this case, write “20” in the “Percentage” field. This will mean that your fare item is worth 200.

Note: the added package elements do not increase the initial cost of the rate, but now the cost of accruing for the room is the sum of the rate after deducting the sum of the package elements. If the sum of the package elements is greater than the cost of the rate, the folio charge for the room in that rate will have a negative value.

Adding, editing or deleting tariff packages or package elements

In a few clicks all tariff packages can be easily added, edited or removed from the tariff:

• Find the desired rate on the rate search screen

• Select “Edit/Tags” (in the drop down menu next to the rate)

• In the Rate Package field, select the appropriate package. Save.

• Repeat the last steps with rates that have the same package.
