Cure for a hangover stomach ache. Hangover Stomach Ache Relief: 6 Effective Remedies for Quick Recovery
How can you alleviate hangover stomach ache. What are the most effective remedies for hangover symptoms. Which preventive measures can help reduce the severity of a hangover. How does alcohol affect your body and lead to hangover symptoms. What role does hydration play in hangover recovery. Are there any natural remedies that can help ease hangover discomfort. When should you seek medical attention for severe hangover symptoms.
Understanding the Science Behind Hangovers
Hangovers are a complex physiological response to excessive alcohol consumption. While many people claim to have foolproof cures, the reality is that there’s no magic solution to instantly eliminate hangover symptoms. Dr. George Koob, director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), emphasizes this point, stating, “There’s no magic potion that gets rid of a hangover.”
To truly understand how to alleviate hangover symptoms, it’s crucial to grasp the underlying mechanisms at play. When you consume alcohol, it affects various systems in your body, leading to dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, inflammation, and disrupted sleep patterns. These factors contribute to the classic hangover symptoms such as headache, nausea, fatigue, and stomach discomfort.
The Role of Dehydration in Hangovers
One of the primary reasons for hangover symptoms is dehydration. Alcohol is a diuretic, meaning it increases urine production and leads to fluid loss. Dr. Koob explains, “Hangover symptoms are partly due to dehydration, so replacing that fluid loss can help.” This emphasizes the importance of proper hydration both during and after alcohol consumption.
Inflammation and Its Impact
Alcohol consumption triggers an inflammatory response in the body, which contributes to many hangover symptoms. This inflammation can affect various organs, including the stomach lining, leading to digestive discomfort and nausea.
Preventive Measures to Reduce Hangover Severity
While completely avoiding a hangover requires abstaining from alcohol, there are several strategies you can employ to minimize the severity of symptoms if you choose to drink.
The Prickly Pear Advantage
Interestingly, research has shown that consuming prickly pear extract several hours before drinking may help reduce hangover symptoms by about half. The extract contains a protein that appears to curb alcohol-induced inflammation. While the exact mechanism is not fully understood, this preventive measure could be worth considering for those who anticipate a night of drinking.
Eat Before and During Alcohol Consumption
Contrary to popular belief, eating after you’ve finished drinking won’t significantly impact how your body absorbs alcohol. However, consuming food before and during alcohol consumption can make a substantial difference. Aaron White, PhD, senior advisor to the director of the NIAAA, explains, “Having food in your stomach while drinking reduces how high your peak blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) gets by about a third.” This reduction in peak BAC can lead to less severe hangover symptoms the following day.
Choose Your Drinks Wisely
The type of alcohol you consume can influence the severity of your hangover. Clear spirits like vodka, gin, and light rum tend to cause less severe hangovers compared to darker alcohols like bourbon, scotch, and dark rum. This difference is attributed to congeners, which are chemical compounds present in alcohol besides ethanol and water. Darker drinks typically contain higher levels of congeners, which can exacerbate hangover symptoms.
Hydration: The Key to Hangover Relief
Proper hydration is crucial in mitigating hangover symptoms. While drinking water won’t prevent the absorption of alcohol already in your system, it can help in several ways:
- Slowing alcohol absorption: Alternating between alcoholic drinks and water can slow down the rate at which your body absorbs alcohol, potentially reducing your overall BAC.
- Preventing dehydration: Drinking water throughout the night and before bed can help counteract the diuretic effects of alcohol.
- Morning recovery: Keeping water by your bedside allows for immediate hydration upon waking, which can help alleviate some hangover symptoms.
Remember, the goal is to maintain adequate hydration before, during, and after alcohol consumption to minimize the dehydrating effects of alcohol.
The Myth of the “Hair of the Dog”
Some people swear by the “hair of the dog” method, which involves consuming more alcohol the morning after to alleviate hangover symptoms. While this may provide temporary relief, it’s not a recommended or sustainable solution.
The science behind this phenomenon relates to how alcohol affects the brain chemical glutamate. Dr. Koob explains, “When you drink, alcohol holds back a brain chemical called glutamate. That causes your brain to make more and more of it.” When alcohol wears off, the excess glutamate contributes to hangover symptoms. Drinking more alcohol temporarily suppresses this excess glutamate, providing momentary relief.
However, this approach merely delays the inevitable. As Dr. Koob warns, “Once you stop drinking, you’ll still have to deal with a hangover.” Additionally, this method can lead to unhealthy drinking patterns and potential alcohol dependency.
Natural Remedies and Lifestyle Adjustments
While there’s no cure-all for hangovers, several natural remedies and lifestyle adjustments can help alleviate symptoms:
- Ginger tea: Known for its anti-nausea properties, ginger tea can help settle an upset stomach.
- Honey: Rich in fructose, honey may help your body metabolize alcohol more quickly.
- Bananas: High in potassium, bananas can help replenish electrolytes lost due to alcohol’s diuretic effect.
- Rest: Allowing your body time to recover through adequate sleep can significantly improve hangover symptoms.
- Light exercise: A gentle workout can boost endorphins and increase metabolism, potentially speeding up recovery.
Over-the-Counter Remedies: What Works and What Doesn’t
When it comes to over-the-counter (OTC) remedies for hangovers, it’s essential to approach them with caution and understanding. While some may provide relief, others could potentially worsen your condition.
Pain Relievers: Choose Wisely
For hangover-related headaches, anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen can be effective. However, it’s crucial to avoid acetaminophen-based pain relievers when dealing with a hangover. Dr. Koob warns, “Taking acetaminophen can cause serious liver problems when it mixes with alcohol.” Even if you’re no longer actively drinking, the alcohol in your system can interact dangerously with acetaminophen.
While ibuprofen is generally a safer choice, it’s important to use it judiciously. “Taking too much ibuprofen can upset your stomach, and it may already be queasy from your hangover,” Dr. Koob advises. Always follow the recommended dosage and consider your overall health condition before taking any medication.
Digestive Aids
For stomach discomfort, over-the-counter remedies like Pepto-Bismol can provide relief. These products can help soothe nausea and settle an upset stomach. However, it’s important to remember that they treat the symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of the hangover.
The Impact of Smoking on Hangovers
For those who combine smoking with drinking, it’s worth noting that this combination can lead to more severe hangovers. Dr. Damaris Rosenhow, associate director of the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University, states, “Smoking cigarettes while drinking results in worse hangovers.”
While the exact mechanism isn’t fully understood, one theory suggests that both alcohol and cigarettes negatively impact sleep quality. Poor sleep can exacerbate hangover symptoms, making recovery more challenging. If you’re looking to minimize hangover severity, avoiding smoking while drinking could be a beneficial step.
When to Seek Medical Attention
While most hangovers resolve on their own with time and proper care, there are instances where medical attention may be necessary. It’s important to recognize the signs that indicate a need for professional help:
- Severe vomiting that prevents you from keeping fluids down
- Confusion or difficulty staying conscious
- Seizures
- Slow or irregular breathing
- Pale or blue-tinged skin
- Hypothermia (low body temperature)
These symptoms could indicate alcohol poisoning, which is a medical emergency requiring immediate attention. If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms after drinking, don’t hesitate to seek medical help.
In conclusion, while there’s no foolproof cure for hangovers, understanding the science behind them and employing preventive measures can significantly reduce their severity. Proper hydration, mindful eating, and choosing your drinks wisely can all contribute to a less painful morning after. Remember, the most effective way to avoid a hangover is to drink in moderation or abstain entirely. As research in this field continues, we may discover more effective ways to combat hangover symptoms in the future. Until then, responsible drinking and proper self-care remain your best defenses against the dreaded hangover.

Ask a dozen people how to cure a hangover and you’ll get a dozen different answers. Eat greasy grub. Drink coffee. Pop over-the-counter pain relievers.
Do any of them work?
“There’s no magic potion that gets rid of a hangover,” says George Koob, MD, director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). The only way you can avoid that tired-headachy-nauseated feeling is to drink less.
But if you think you might overdo it, these steps could help tone down your morning-after symptoms.
While most over-the-counter hangover remedies won’t help much, there’s one supplement that may do you some good — but you’ll have to plan ahead. If you take prickly pear extract several hours before you drink, it might lower your day-after symptoms by about half.
Experts don’t know how it works, but the extract has a protein that curbs the inflammation you can get from drinking too much. That may help hold off a hangover.
Don’t wait until the end of the night to polish off a pizza. It might be too late.
“The alcohol is already in your body, so eating food or drinking water won’t affect how it’s absorbed,” says Aaron White, PhD, senior advisor to the director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
But if you eat a meal and have water while you’re throwing back those cocktails, your hangover may not be as bad. “Having food in your stomach while drinking reduces how high your peak blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) gets by about a third,” White says.
The less drunk you get, the less crummy you’ll feel the next day. And fluid from water slows the rate at which your body absorbs alcohol. This will also lower your overall BAC.
“It’s a good idea to alternate alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks,” White says.
Along with drinking water throughout the night, be sure to down even more before you go to sleep.
“Alcohol is a diuretic,” Koob says. This means it makes you pee a lot, which causes you to lose a lot of liquid. “Hangover symptoms are partly due to dehydration, so replacing that fluid loss can help.”
It’s also smart to keep a bottle of water by your bedside so you can hydrate as soon as you wake up in the morning.
The color of the spirits you drink may affect how you feel tomorrow. You may be better off sticking to a clear booze like vodka and gin, or the clear versions of rum and tequila.
The reason has to do with chemical compounds called congeners. Those are “anything in alcohol besides alcohol and water,” Koob says. Darker drinks like bourbon, scotch, and tequila tend to have higher levels. Those compounds can bring on the inflammation that makes your hangover worse.
For some people, the two go together. But you may pay the price.
“Smoking cigarettes while drinking results in worse hangovers,” says Damaris Rosenhow, PhD, associate director of the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University.
One theory is that both alcohol and smokes affect your sleep, and poor shut-eye may make you feel even crummier.
If you’re looking for a short-term fix, this may help — but not for long. There’s a scientific explanation for why the “hair of the dog that bit you” works.
When you drink, alcohol holds back a brain chemical called glutamate. That causes your brain to make more and more of it, Koob says. When the alcohol wears off, you have a bunch of it floating around in your brain. It may be to blame for hangover symptoms like irritability, headaches, nausea, and fatigue.
Down another drink or two the next morning, and you’ll hold off the glutamate all over again. Your hangover symptoms may improve. But it won’t last. “Once you stop drinking you’ll still have to deal with a hangover,” Koob says.
Although there’s no cure for a hangover, there are ways to treat what ails you.
If you have a headache, reach for an anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen. Upset stomach? Pepto-Bismol might help. If you’re tired, have some coffee.
One thing you shouldn’t take is any other medication that has the ingredient acetaminophen. It can cause serious liver problems when it mixes with alcohol.
While ibuprofen is a better option, you still need to be careful. “Taking too much ibuprofen can upset your stomach, and it may already be queasy from your hangover,” Koob says.

They say that if you walk well in the evening, it will be bad in the morning. After the New Year, many, willy-nilly, will be convinced of the validity of this postulate and will turn to the unchanged cucumber pickle and other ways to deal with a hangover passed down from generation to generation. Will they help? Experts doubt this and warn that in some cases there will be only harm from folk remedies. “Lenta.ru” found out what really needs to be done with a hangover.
What is a hangover
Hangover, according to psychologist and narcologist Oleg Shevchenko, is a post-intoxication condition that appears approximately 8-10 hours after alcohol abuse. It is characterized by nausea, severe headache, sweating and dehydration.
Liquid is actively excreted together with ethanol – hence thirst and dizziness. And irritation of the gastric mucosa causes abdominal pain and vomiting. Acetaldehyde, which appears during the breakdown of ethanol, causes tachycardia, affects the central nervous system, and reduces sleep. In addition, the nervous system suffers – there is increased anxiety, unreasonable panic, trembling and weakness in the arms and legs
Oleg Shevchenkopsychologist and narcologist
The duration of this state can be up to three days, although it usually does not exceed 24 hours. It all depends on the amount drunk, weight and gender. In men, alcohol is excreted faster than in women, and overweight people get rid of alcohol and its decay products faster than thin people.
The medications a person takes also play a role. Some of these can make hangover symptoms worse, so it’s best to avoid drinking while on medication.

Is a hangover dangerous? Hangover symptoms – headache, nausea, dizziness – are painful, but after a while they pass by themselves.
For people with alcohol dependence, the situation is more complicated. In their case, a hangover can result in delirium tremens and other psychoses. “It is impossible to treat such a person with folk remedies,” explains narcologist and psychiatrist Nikolai Nazaryev. “In some cases, this can only be done in a hospital setting.”
Abstinence, that is, chronic alcoholic withdrawal syndrome, must be removed with the help of a specialist who will put a dropper for detoxification
Nikolay Nazaryevnarcologist and psychiatrist who is not addicted, at this moment he is disgusted with alcohol, while in alcoholics the opposite is true.
Considering home remedies for dealing with a hangover, it should be understood that they will help only those who are not prone to alcohol addiction.

How to get rid of a hangover at home
First of all, you should eliminate the causes of a hangover: dehydration and intoxication. To do this, it is necessary to restore the water-salt balance, as well as the level of sugar and oxygen in the blood. Here is what helps in such cases:
Long sleep. Despite the fact that excessive drinking usually makes sleep short, restless and superficial, it will be difficult to get rid of a hangover syndrome without proper rest. If possible, you need to sleep as much as possible, rest and recuperate.
Oxygen supply. Fresh air, which saturates the blood with oxygen, helps to remove acetaldehyde from the blood faster. It’s good to go out and walk. If this is not possible, the room should be well ventilated.
Drink plenty of water. Alcohol has a diuretic effect, removes water and electrolytes, without which the body’s systems cannot function normally. Vomiting, which is also common during a hangover, leads to even more fluid loss. Therefore, it is very important to drink more at this time – you can just clean water, you can orange or grapefruit juice, because after alcohol abuse the body needs vitamin C. To restore the level of electrolytes, it is useful to add salt, sugar or honey to the water – the latter contains trace elements and redox enzymes that positively affect metabolism.
Anti-hangover herbal remedies. Red ginseng, ginger and eleutherococcus extract are good for nausea, vomiting and indigestion. Foods that contain antioxidants, such as spinach, carrots, nuts, green tea, are also useful.
Balanced diet. For breakfast on a hangover morning, try to eat lean protein and complex carbohydrates. For example, cereals (preferably oatmeal), chicken and steamed fish, chicken broth, which is quickly digested and restores strength. Fermented milk products are also good – they are rich in trace elements and vitamins and partially neutralize intoxication.
Contrast shower. He will invigorate and refresh after waking up. “Keep in mind that a contrast shower is contraindicated in diseases of the cardiovascular system, hypertension and withdrawal symptoms in chronic alcoholics,” warns Oleg Shevchenko. “In these cases, it is better to take a regular cool shower.”

Folk remedies and medicines
For a mild hangover, simple recipes are effective to help relieve unpleasant symptoms. Here are the most popular and effective ones:
- Cabbage or cucumber pickle. They stop dehydration of the body, eliminate swelling, saturate the body with B and C vitamins. An important point is that the brine should be without vinegar. Vinegar will irritate the stomach, which is already suffering from the effects of alcohol.
- Adsorbents. Activated charcoal, polysorb, enterosgel accelerate the elimination of toxins, relieve symptoms of intoxication, and prevent the absorption of acetaldehyde into the blood. True, some experts, in particular the narcologist Nikolai Nazaryev, consider these funds to be ineffective. “It’s too late to use activated charcoal for a hangover, because the metabolic products have already been absorbed,” he says.
- Glycine. It tones and normalizes mental activity.
- Regidron. This tool prevents dehydration and compensates for the lack of minerals and salts.
What not to do when you have a hangover
It must be borne in mind that the wrong actions can aggravate your condition. Here is what the narcologist and psychologist Oleg Shevchenko advises:
- Sometimes you want to eat more when you have alcohol poisoning. However, you should not take heavy fatty foods, because, like alcohol, it puts a huge burden on the liver, and also slows down the process of removing toxins.
- Eliminate strong tea, coffee, any carbonated drinks – all this gives an extra burden on the cardiovascular system and kidneys.
- Don’t get drunk! An additional dose of alcohol will only increase the intoxication of the body, the concentration of acetaldehyde in the blood will increase. Relief of the state after a hangover will soon end, and everything will start all over again.
- Do not eat spicy hot soups, which, of course, can invigorate, but also greatly irritate an already exhausted stomach.
- You should not go to the bath or sauna, although it is believed that toxins and ethanol metabolite products come out with sweat. But the benefits are not so great, but sweating a dehydrated body is extremely harmful. In addition, hot steam puts additional stress on the heart.
- Do not take medicines containing paracetamol. It has a bad effect on the liver, which already suffers after alcohol abuse. You should also not take Corvalol and Valocordin: they contain phenobarbital, which can cause delirium while taking alcohol. Instead, it is better to use preparations based on acetylsalicylic acid, such as aspirin or cardiomagnyl.

How to get rid of an unpleasant smell from a hangover
This smell, popularly called fumes, appears due to the breakdown of ethanol. It will disappear completely only after the final removal of alcohol from the body, but there are several effective ways to help muffle it:
- rinsing the mouth with mints or water with the addition of essential oil;
- coffee beans, nutmeg, parsley, bay leaf – these should be chewed well;
- mint flavored chewing gum;
- refreshing mouth sprays;
- toothbrushing the root of the tongue.
How to prevent a hangover
Obviously, not to fight a hangover, but simply to avoid it. This is not so difficult to do, and it is not at all necessary to give up alcoholic fun. It is enough to take precautionary measures before the start of the feast.
First of all, you should drink high-quality drinks, because the severity of the state of the next day is determined not only by alcohol itself, but also by various flavor enhancers and other additives. Before the party, try to eat well, even if you have plentiful snacks on the festive table. It is better to snack on alcohol while drinking with something light: salads, fruits, bread – fiber acts as an absorbent. But drinking carbonated drinks is not worth it. In general, you should drink more water during a feast to speed up the withdrawal of alcohol

Russian scientists have discovered that peach juice is the ideal cure for a hangover. As the specialists of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Biotechnology” said, they examined it for the content of biologically active substances. “Consumption of peaches and peach juice products reduces oxidative stress in the body, and peach juice consumption may have a protective effect on metabolic disorders caused by obesity, including hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and insulin and leptin resistance,” the study authors note.

With the right food and advice from nutritionists, toxicologists and chefs.
If you suddenly took too much on your chest and were the king of the party on New Year’s Eve, and today your kingdom will fit only for a glass container item, we will not leave you to suffer alone. Suffer with us. At the same time, find out what will most quickly lead you to a more or less human form, and what methods of dealing with a hangover do not get out of the swamp of delusions. We found out all this from various experts in advance to brighten up even the most difficult morning of the year.
In a good way, experts do not recommend eating in case of a severe hangover – just drink plenty of water so that the body clears itself faster. Drinks with a diuretic effect help well: mineral water, sour milk, non-alcoholic beer, green tea.
— From the point of view of toxicology, the only possible tactic is the accelerated elimination of the poison (acetaldehyde) from the body. For example, a dropper with saline plus forced diuresis, ascorbic acid, B vitamins are added along the way, and it would be nice to correct acidosis, ”says a general practitioner of the highest qualification category, toxicologist Alexei Vodovozov. – Other traditional toxicological tactics (administration of an antidote or acceleration of metabolism) simply do not work. Modern medicine has not yet come up with such means. The reason is simple: the breakdown of acetaldehyde is an enzyme-dependent process, obeying the laws of enzymatic kinetics, primarily the Michaelis-Menten equation. Translated from biochemical into Russian, this means approximately the following: the enzyme needs a certain minimum time to “disassemble” the substrate. And to reduce it is not possible from the word at all.
Alexey Vodovozov is a Russian science journalist and medical blogger. Therapist of the highest qualification category, toxicologist. In 2019, he was named one of the most famous popularizers of evidence-based medicine in Russia.
Experts say the only way to avoid a hangover is not to get drunk. Banal, simple, inexpensive and incredibly difficult in some circumstances, a way to solve a problem. If you didn’t manage to check this advice in action, and along with a hangover, a terrible hunger also attacked, let’s make a menu.
— All these dishes contain glycine, which neutralizes poisonous acetaldehyde (a poisonous substance that alcohol has turned into), improves mood and performance, normalizes sleep, and restores the nervous system, says toxicologist Stanislav Radchenko. – Just don’t eat too much: these meals are fatty and can overload the liver, preventing it from coping with a hangover.
Stanislav Radchenko — toxicologist, therapist, cybernetician, candidate of medical sciences.
– Khash has been prepared for a long time from lamb or veal legs and heads. To recover, you need to eat a plate of this, drink a glass of ice-cold vodka and go to bed, – advises Sergey Izyurov, marketing director of a large restaurant project. “When you wake up, everything will be gone.
It can prove itself excellent in the fight against a hangover and ear. First, fish contains valuable omega-3 fatty acids. Secondly, fish is more tender than meat and the body does not have to spend extra energy on its digestion. Gourmets can pour a glass of vodka into a saucepan with fish soup at the end of cooking. It is believed that this will make the broth more tasty and piquant. And the main thing is that in this soup you will not find anything sweet.
— With a hangover, it is important to restore salt balance. Therefore, in the diet should be unsweetened foods. Namely, mineralized, with a rich mineral composition, because there must be a sufficient amount of fiber, vegetables and salts. Otherwise, there is a load on the blood vessels when sugar enters the body,” explains Mikhail Kovalev, chef of the Russian cuisine restaurant. “Squirrels won’t help much. It is better to switch to light boiled dishes or baked vegetables. This will be the best option. And all kinds of soups, rich in extractive substances.
Extractive substances excite appetite well, stimulate the digestive glands of the gastrointestinal tract. You will easily feel their effect on yourself: pleasant drowsiness, lethargy will appear. However, abuse of such products is also not recommended. Otherwise, corresponding metabolic and regulatory disorders develop rapidly. To avoid this, experts advise eating such dishes with porous bread. It slows down the absorption of extractives.

Rassolnik, like solyanka or sour cabbage soup, contains fermented products: pickles and cabbage. They perfectly help with a hangover and saturate the body with vitamin C, restore salt balance, and accelerate the removal of toxins. There are many types of such soups, even offal is added, and offal contains a lot of iron and vitamin PP, which are responsible for good health.
“Rassolnik, as we usually see and eat it today, is a direct descendant of the old Russian cuisine,” explains Andrey Guryanov, head chef of the European cuisine restaurant. – The main types of this hot stew are boiled in meat, fish and vegetable broths, mushrooms are added according to some recipes. It turns out a rich, fatty protein soup. It is very good to eat it in the cold. It will keep you warm and improve your health.
Fish, mussels, scallops, squid, shrimp, crab, lobster and other seafood have a calming effect, improve digestion and metabolism. They saturate the body with potassium, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus, restoring the electrolyte balance disturbed by alcohol in the body. They contain lecithin, which lowers cholesterol levels, increases the body’s resistance to toxic substances, and stimulates bile secretion. Seafood also contains methionine, which has an antioxidant effect and accelerates detoxification processes.
“But remember: it is better to eat seafood with a hangover after detoxification measures and only in moderation,” says Stanislav Radchenko. – Because they are difficult to digest, and digestion is already disturbed. More than half a kilogram of seafood is unlikely to be absorbed by a hangover organism, as a result, they will not bring the proper benefit and make the gastrointestinal tract even worse.
Yoghurt, tan, ayran, kefir, koumiss are good hangover options because they contain proteins, vitamins, minerals and amino acids involved in many body processes. In addition, lactic acid bacteria positively affect the work of the gastrointestinal tract, they also protect the liver, help restore strength and remove harmful substances from the body. But the main thing here is not to overdo it with treatment: doctors recommend consuming no more than 600 ml of fermented milk products on a hangover day.
Bananas are a good choice if you feel sick in the morning but still hungry. They are quite satisfying and contain potassium, which is not enough in the body during a hangover. Potassium helps restore metabolism and has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system.
It’s all about citric acid, which speeds up the metabolism, allowing harmful substances to leave the body faster.
Rice is a sorbent, just like activated carbon. According to doctors, it absorbs harmful substances from the gastrointestinal tract, and then leaves the body with them. For the best effect, do not forget to go to the toilet a couple of hours after rice porridge.
Honey contains trace elements, redox enzymes, organic acids of the Krebs cycle, which improve metabolism. Another important component of honey is fructose. It helps the body deal with alcohol faster. To get rid of a hangover, experts advise to cleanse the intestines and take honey fractionally throughout the day. And honey will restore the balance of glucose, which you diligently washed out with alcohol the day before.
“The human body contains water-soluble minerals and trace elements, they need to be constantly replenished,” says Dmitry Pasechnik, head of the Med Urala peasant farm. “But it’s hard to do that with a normal diet. Honey contains all the necessary substances, including glucose and fructose. To restore your glucose balance, eat a teaspoon of honey every hour throughout the day. Pure or in aqueous solution.
Hangover cure version with instant noodles (and spicier) – ancient, well-established, strongly brewed. But for nutritionists, this idea only causes skepticism.
“Drinking provokes a water-salt imbalance, and Doshirak contains a lot of salts that solve the deficiency problem,” says Olga Belova, a nutritionist. – In addition, instant vermicelli can be used to make soup. This allows you to normalize the fluid balance. However, you need to understand that only “Doshirak” with alcohol intoxication will most likely not be enough, and indeed, instant noodles with a hangover are a rather dubious remedy.
Aleksey Vodovozov, in turn, says that there are no physiological justifications for the fact that instant noodles (even the spiciest) can become an anti-hangover.
– Well, except that it starts to brutally burn the mucous membrane, and the person jumps and is forced to look for something to drown out this burning sensation, – says Alexey Vodovozov. – Something like this, I think, in the 19th century, tobacco enemas worked to save drowned people. Whoever could get up, even theoretically, was forced to get up.
