Fast Headache and Migraine Relief: Treatments, Coronavirus-Related Headaches, and More

Am I at Risk for Chronic Daily Headache?

Anyone who has recurrent acute headaches and who uses short-acting medication or techniques to treat them is at risk of developing chronic daily headache, which is characterized by headache symptoms 15 or more days of the month over three months, notes an article published in February 2020 in Global Advances in Health and Medicine on “Integrative East–West Medicine Intervention for Chronic Daily Headache.”

The two most common types of chronic daily headache are chronic migraine and chronic tension-type headache, although the two types often overlap. In other words, people diagnosed with chronic migraine often also have symptoms of chronic tension-type headache, and vice versa.

Individuals with chronic daily headache often also have a diagnosis of medication-overuse headache.

If your head pain or other symptoms cause you to frequently take short-acting medication, talk to your doctor about being referred to a headache specialist, who should be able to identify medical treatments as well as lifestyle or behavioral changes that can help to relieve your symptoms while also reducing your reliance on acute medications.

If My Headache Isn’t Going Away, Should I Get Tested for Coronavirus?

Headache is one of the symptoms of COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A February 2020 report of the WHO-China Joint Mission on COVID-19, from early in the pandemic, found that of 55,924 people confirmed to have the disease, 13.6 percent had a headache.

There’s no treatment for COVID-19, but the same OTC pain relievers that help with other types of headaches may alleviate headaches caused by this disease. (Despite rumors, the World Health Organization (WHO) does not recommend against the use of ibuprofen for people with COVID-19.)

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and want to get tested, the CDC recommends calling your state or local health department or a medical provider. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and are able to recover at home, the CDC notes.

Home Remedies to Ease a Headache or Migraine Attack

Many headache symptoms can be at least partially alleviated without medication. Here are some tips for homemade headache and migraine relief:

Apply an ice pack to your head and neck. Cold compresses on the head and neck are a common home remedy to ease the pain of a migraine attack. Some people also find it helpful for tension headaches. To avoid skin injury, wrap the ice or cold pack in a cloth and apply it for no more than 15 to 20 minutes at a time.

Apply heat to the head, neck, or hands and feet. Applying heat may help relieve a tension headache or dull the pain of a migraine attack, according to the Mayo Clinic. Use a heating pad set on low, a hot-water bottle, a warm compress, or a hot towel. A hot bath or shower may also be helpful, or simply run warm water over your hands and feet.

Have a big glass of water. Dehydration can trigger a migraine attack or lead to a nonmigraine headache, says the National Headache Foundation. Replacing the liquids your body needs may help to relieve the pain.

Practice a relaxation technique. Meditate, breathe deeply, and try to visualize a peaceful image. “Various relaxation techniques can significantly help patients who suffer from ‘muscle contraction’ headaches,” says Rozental.

Give yourself a massage. Massage eases muscle tension, and sometimes helps to reduce headache pain, according to the Mayo Clinic. Gently massage your temples, scalp, neck, and shoulders with your fingertips, or gently stretch your neck.

Try acupressure. You may be able to reduce migraine and headache pain by massaging the pressure point located in the “V” between the thumb and forefinger. Use the thumb of one hand to massage the other hand with a circular motion for 15 to 20 seconds, then switch hands.

Drink a caffeinated beverage. In small amounts, caffeine can decrease migraine-related pain in the early stages of an attack or enhance the pain-reducing effects of OTC medication, according to the Mayo Clinic. But don’t overdo it: Drinking too much caffeine too frequently can lead to withdrawal headaches.

Dab on some peppermint oil. Rub some peppermint oil into your temples or forehead to see if this natural remedy helps reduce your head pain, suggests Migraine.com. Because peppermint oil can cause skin irritation, you may wish to mix a drop of peppermint oil into a teaspoon or two of a neutral oil such as jojoba or avocado oil to dilute it first.

Close your eyes and rest. This is an effective treatment for headaches associated with migraine, and it can help ease a tension headache as well. Sit or lie down in a quiet, dark room with your eyes closed and just relax for a bit. “Patients with migraine instinctively seek out a dark, quiet environment in which they can go to sleep for at least a few hours,” Rozental says. “Sleep frequently diminishes or eliminates the pain.”

Self-Care Tips to Prevent Headaches and Migraine Attacks

You may be able to prevent some headaches and migraine attacks by avoiding the triggers that can set them off. Here are some wellness tips that may help:

Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can lead to a headache or trigger a migraine attack, and a chronic lack of sleep — caused by sleep apnea, for example — can also cause headaches. If you snore or suspect you have sleep apnea, see your healthcare provider for help. Whether or not you snore, try to go to bed and get up at the same time every day to avoid triggering a migraine attack.

Maintain healthy eating habits. What you put into your body and when can have a big impact on your headaches. Rozental observes that regular meals are important, especially for people who get headaches from low blood sugar. “Do not skip meals, particularly breakfast,” he says. It’s also important to eat a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Manage your stress. Stress can act as a trigger for both tension headaches and migraine attacks, so find ways to manage your stress level, whether through a meditation practice, working with a psychotherapist, exercising regularly, or a combination of approaches.

Avoid cigarettes. Smoking tobacco can trigger migraine attacks and nonmigraine headaches in both the person who smokes and in those who inhale the second-hand smoke, according to a study from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology.

Limit your alcohol intake. Drinking too much alcohol can lead to a hangover in anyone. For some people with migraine, any type of alcohol is a trigger for a migraine attack, and for others, only certain types of alcoholic drinks trigger attacks. Learn how to drink safely from MigraineAgain.

Keep a food journal. Writing down everything you eat and drink for a period of time can help you determine whether a certain food or beverage may be triggering your migraine attacks.

Exercise regularly. Exercise releases chemicals in your body that block pain signals to the brain and can help prevent tension headaches and migraine attacks, according to the Mayo Clinic. But start slowly; overdoing it with vigorous exercise can trigger some types of headaches.

Maintain a healthy weight. In people with migraine, obesity raises the risk of developing chronic migraine, according to Andrew Charles, MD, writing for MigraineAgain.

Consider taking supplements. Supplements like riboflavin (vitamin B2), coenzyme Q10, and magnesium (if your level is low) may help prevent migraine attacks, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine. Butterbur is an herbal remedy that some people take to prevent migraine attacks, but some experts caution against it because of possible liver toxicity. Always talk to your healthcare provider before taking any supplement.

Acupressure for Pain and Headaches

This information explains how to use acupressure to reduce pain and headaches.

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that’s based on the traditional Chinese medicine practice of acupuncture. With acupressure, you put pressure on specific places on your body. These places are called acupoints. Pressing these points can help release muscle tension and promote blood circulation. It can also relieve many common side effects of chemotherapy.

You can do acupressure at home by using your fingers to apply pressure to different acupoints. Watch this video or follow the steps below to learn how to do acupressure to reduce pain and headaches.

This video will show you how to perform acupressure for headaches and generalized pain.

Pressure Point LI-4 (Hegu)

Pressure point LI-4, also called Hegu, is located between the base of your thumb and index finger. Doing acupressure on this point to relieve pain and headaches.

  1. Find pressure point LI-4 by placing your thumb in the space between the base of your thumb and index finder (see Figure 1).
  2. Press down on this point for 5 minutes. Move your thumb in a circle while applying pressure. Be firm, but don’t press so hard that it hurts.
  3. Repeat the process on your other hand.

You can do acupressure several times a day, or as often as need for your symptoms to go away.

6 Home Remedies to Relieve Headaches Naturally

Many people turn to over-the-counter pain medications to get rid of a headache, but it can be possible to relieve a headache without medication.

For example, relaxation techniques, acupressure, or warm compresses are all home remedies that can help combat headache symptoms and give you some relief.

Here’s what you should know about headaches and how to treat the symptoms naturally.

What is a headache?

A headache is when you feel pain in the head or face. There are different types of headaches with varying causes, such as:

  • Tension headaches often feel like a dull, aching head pain and tightness across your forehead. These are often caused by stress.
  • Migraine headaches feel like intense throbbing in one part of the head. These can also be caused by stress or by strong stimuli in your environment, like bright lights and intense smells.
  • Cluster headaches often manifest as intense pain behind the eye and are similar to migraine headaches.
  • Sinus headaches often feel like pressure around your forehead, cheeks, and eyes. This is usually a sign that you have some nasal or sinus congestion, and may be a sign of a sinus infection.

The following are some simple strategies you can try at home to help relieve these types of headaches:

1. Use a cold or hot compress

For headaches with radiating pain that starts in one area and spreads to another, like migraine headaches, cold compresses can be placed over the spot from which the pain originates, says Michael Devine, MD, internal medicine doctor and geriatrician with Devine Concierge Medicine, a primary care practice in Philadelphia.

Cold temperatures have a numbing effect, which can dull the pain. They can also constrict the blood vessels, which may help relieve migraines. You can make your own cold compress by placing a damp towel in the freezer for about 10 minutes. An ice pack would also work.

Heat is better suited for tension headaches, Devine says, which often manifest as dull, aching head pain and a feeling of tightness across your forehead.

Tensions headaches are typically caused by stress and relaxing stiff neck and shoulder muscles can help relieve this type of headache. For example, heat packs or a hot towel can be draped over the neck and shoulder muscles to help relax the muscles.

2. Try acupressure

Acupressure is the act of applying firm pressure to certain parts of the body for one to two minutes at a time.

This is most helpful at the back of your neck or base of your skull, and helps relax tension in the stabilizer muscles located in the neck that are often affected in tension headaches, Devine says.

You can do this yourself at home. For example, you can follow these steps from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center:

1. On your left hand, find the space between the base of your thumb and index finger. This space is known as pressure point LI-4, or Hegu.

2. Using your right thumb and index finger, press down on this point. Slowly move your thumb in a circle as you apply pressure. You should be firm, but don’t hurt yourself.

3. Find the same space on your right hand, and with your left thumb and index finger, repeat this process for another five minutes.

3. Practice relaxation techniques

Relaxation techniques — like yoga,

, and breathing exercises — can also be helpful in managing certain headaches, especially cluster headaches.

Cluster headaches, which often manifest as intense pain behind the eye, can often be relieved with deep breathing exercises, Devine says. For example, you can practice a breathing exercise known as rhythmic breathing by taking long, slow breaths and slowly counting to five as you inhale and exhale.

In addition, tension headaches and migraine headaches are often related to stress, Devine says. Yoga and meditation can be particularly helpful with these types of headaches because they can help relax the body and reduce stress over time.

For more information, learn about how to perform breathing exercises for relaxation. You can also follow our beginners guide on how to meditate.

4. Improve your diet

Foods containing phenylalanine and tyramine may increase the frequency of migraine headaches for some people.

Phenylalanine is an amino acid often found in:

  • Artificial sweeteners
  • MSG and nitrate-containing foods like processed meats and hot dogs

Tyramine is a compound produced by the breakdown of amino acids and is often found in:

  • Smoked or fermented foods
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Strong or aged cheeses, like parmesan and blue cheese

To prevent headaches, Devine suggests eating three to four small meals throughout the day instead of one to two large meals. Foods rich in protein and dietary fiber, like almonds and cherries, may also help ward off headaches.

5. Stay hydrated

Drinking more water — and less dehydrating beverages, like alcohol or coffee — can also help prevent headaches.

Devine recommends drinking an 8 to 16 ounce glass of water every two to three hours when you start to notice a headache coming on, as migraine headaches often respond well to this approach. Read more about how much water you’re supposed to drink each day for optimal health.

In addition, caffeine could be a possible headache culprit, especially if it’s something you used to consume regularly but then stopped or cut back. Caffeine is tricky because it can help certain headaches, like migraines, but drinking too much of it can also lead to dehydration, which can also cause headaches.

Alcohol can also be a migraine trigger, especially if you are stressed or anxious, according to the American Migraine Foundation. Alcoholic beverages can also dehydrate you and cause a headache the next day.

6. Take vitamins or supplements

There are many vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies that can alleviate or prevent headaches, especially migraines.

Devine says these natural remedies work to relieve headaches by improving your circulation, acting as an anti-inflammatory, bringing more oxygen to your tissues, providing muscle relaxation, or offering direct pain relief.

For example, Devine recommends the following:

  • Magnesium
  • Riboflavin
  • Coenzyme Q10
  • Chamomile
  • Feverfew

When to see a doctor

While home remedies and over-the-counter medications can help with headaches, Devine recommends working with your doctor to determine and treat the underlying cause of recurring headaches.

Migraine and tension headaches, for instance, are often caused by a lack of adequate sleep, stress, poor circulation, eye-strain, allergies, and poor dietary habits.

If you experience frequent headaches severe enough to disrupt your life, then you should visit a primary care doctor or neurologist who can diagnose and treat conditions that may be contributing to your headaches.

Overall, to combat frequent tension headaches or migraines, Devine recommends getting six to eight hours of sleep a night, consuming at least 64 ounces of water a day, exercising for at least 20 minutes three to five times a week, and eating a healthy, well-balanced diet.

With these home remedies, you may be able to quickly relieve or even prevent headaches naturally. But if you consistently suffer from headaches or migraines, you should check in with your doctor, who may prescribe you medication or work with you to make lifestyle changes.

Home Remedies For Headaches: 10 Natural Ways To Treat Headaches

Managing Your Headaches“Headaches are characterised by a feeling of tenseness in the neck, shoulder and scalp whereas migraines are basically pulsating headaches, often on one side of the head. Symptoms actually vary from person to person, and even from one migraine attack to the next,” says Dr. Supriya Bali, Internal Medicine, Max Hospitals.

It is essential that you avoid headache-inducing substances like MSG (monosodium glutamate), excessive caffeine, alcohol, phenylethylamine found in chocolate and cheese, tyramine found in nuts and fermented meats and soy, and aspartame present in many artificially sweetened foods. If you start getting a headache, steer clear of all devices including your phone, laptop and TV. Eat healthy, and at regular intervals since a drop in blood sugar can set the stage for headaches. At least thrice a week, if not more, spend 30 minutes exercising. And always, we mean always, stay hydrated.1. Ginger, The All-RounderTouted as an elixir for headaches, ginger is a home remedy for instant relief. It helps reduce inflammation of the blood vessels in the head, hence easing the pain. And since it stimulates digestion, it also helps quell the nausea which occurs during migraines. Wondering how to use this miracle ingredient as a home remedy for headache? Steep ginger root for tea, or mix equal parts of ginger juice and lemon juice and drink up. You can consume this once or twice a day. You can also apply a paste of ginger powder and 2 tablespoons water on your forehead for a few minutes to provide quicker relief.

2. Soothe with ScentPeppermint Oil: With its refreshing scent, peppermint helps open up clogged blood vessels which cause headache. It contains menthol which helps regulate blood flow in the body. Quietly breathe in the aroma in a cool, dark room. You can also mix 3 drops of peppermint oil in one tablespoon of almond oil, or just add a little water and massage the temples or the back of your neck with it. Alternatively, can apply crushed peppermint leaves on your forehead. Make an herbal tea by adding 1 teaspoon of dried peppermint to a cup of boiling water. Cover and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain and add some honey to sweeten it. Sip the tea slowly.Lavender Oil: Not only does lavender have a beautiful fragrance – it’s also a great remedy for alleviating headaches. Simply smelling the soothing scent of lavender essential oil helps, so you can just put a few drops on a tissue and inhale it. You can also add 2 drops of lavender oil to two cups of boiling water and inhale the steam. Another option is to mix two or three drops in one tablespoon of almond oil or olive oil and massage your forehead with it. “You can even draw a foot bath of lavender oil and peppermint, since the hot water draws blood to your feet and the aroma relaxes you”, suggests Dr. Manoj K. Ahuja, Healing Touch Hospital.Note: Do not take lavender oil orally.3. Cinnamon Please!Cinnamon is a miracle spice that is known as one of the effective headache remedies. Wondering how to use it? Here’s help: Grind some cinnamon sticks into a powder, and add some water to make a thick paste. Apply it on your forehead and temples and lie down for 30 minutes. Then wash it off with lukewarm water.(Also Read: Cinnamon for Weight Loss: Try the Spicy Way to Lose Kilos)

Tame Your Tension Headaches Naturally – Health Essentials from Cleveland Clinic

Pop quiz: What’s the most common type of headache? Surprisingly, it’s not a migraine. Tension headaches take the prize for the most common headache disorder. Neurologist Emad Estemalik, MD, talks tension in this Q&A:

Cleveland Clinic is a non-profit academic medical center. Advertising on our site helps support our mission. We do not endorse non-Cleveland Clinic products or services. Policy

Q. What is a tension headache?

A. People describe tension headaches as an aching pain that affects both sides of the head. They can last 30 minutes or linger for a few days. Typically, pain is the main symptom. Common migraine symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or light sensitivity aren’t usually factors for a tension headache. (Yay?)

“The biggest trigger for tension headaches, and probably the reason they are so common, is stress,” says Dr. Estemalik. “In most cases, lifestyle tweaks that reduce stress are enough to keep tension headaches at bay.”

Q: Who’s more likely to get tension headaches?

A: Men and women, young and old, are all equally at risk. The most significant cause is feeling stressed or overwhelmed — so a person who has a high-stress job or works long hours may be more susceptible. And people who are prone to depression, anxiety or sleep disorders are also more likely to experience tension headaches.

Q: Are there different types of tension headaches?

A: We categorize tension headaches as episodic or chronic.
Episodic tension headaches are milder, less frequent and relatively

If someone reaches a threshold of 15 headache days a month, or
realizes their headaches are affecting their life quality, we would label those
as chronic tension headaches.

Q: How can I get relief from tension headaches?

A: A tried-and-true home remedy for both chronic and
episodic tension headaches is using a hot or cold compress to alleviate the
discomfort. Place it on the forehead or over the neck and shoulders.

People can easily manage episodic headaches with over-the-counter
(OTC) pain relievers like a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and acetaminophen.
We recommend people limit the use of OTC pain relievers to two times per week
at most. Using them too often could result in medication-overuse headaches,
plus too much could damage the kidneys or liver.

People with chronic headaches may need daily prevention
medicines. But we have a lot of options to help people avoid tension headaches

Q: Can tension headaches be prevented?

A: Yes! Because of their strong link to stress, take these
steps to prevent or minimize the severity of tension headaches:

  • Drink water: Dehydration can increase headache severity, so drink eight glasses of water each day.
  • Exercise: Physical activity produces brain chemicals (endorphins) that are natural painkillers. Exercise also leads to improved sleep.
  • Gentle stretches: Yoga and tai chi both blend relaxation, breathing and stretching to reduce stress levels.
  • Good sleep hygiene: Improve your sleep by minimizing daytime naps, avoiding caffeine or alcohol close to bedtime, getting exercise and avoiding electronic devices before bed.
  • Massage: Whether you prefer a light touch or deep-tissue work, massage helps relieve built-up muscle tension in the shoulders, neck and scalp.
  • Mindfulness: Using your breath as a guide to keep your thoughts in the present can help reduce overall stress and pain.

Q: How do I know if my headache is a sign of something more serious?

A: The most common fear I hear is that headaches are a sign of a brain tumor or other problem. You don’t have to worry unless your headache comes with numbness or tingling, facial droop, or vision or cognitive changes. But if you’re over age 50 and only just starting to experience headaches, talk to your doctor.

How to Get Rid of a Headache Without Medication

Ibuprofen, aspirin, acetaminophen: Any number of over-the-counter medications promise to make a painful, distracting headache disappear, but reaching for a pill time and time again can have the exact opposite effect when it comes to getting rid of head pain.

“It can induce something called medication overuse headaches, where too much medication actually induces more frequent headaches and makes the patient resistant to other treatments,” says Lawrence Newman, MD, a neurologist and director of the Headache Division at NYU Langone Health in New York City.

This most often happens when chronic headache or migraine sufferers use OTC medicines more than a few times a week, but even the occasional, run-of-the-mill tension headache can benefit from a more holistic approach. Drinking more water or even adjusting your sleep schedule can legitimately help ward off a throbbing head.

Just take note that you should always see a doctor if you’re experiencing headaches once per week or more, or if they’re occurring with certain red flags (more on that below). With that in mind, here’s what you can do at home to prevent and reduce headaches:

1. Rethink your sleep schedule.

To prevent migraines, Dr. Newman tells his patients to follow the mnemonic SEEDS: sleep, eating, exercise, drinking, and stress reduction. “The gene for migraines gives us basically a hyperactive or overly sensitive brain,” he says. “Because of that, any change can induce migraines.”

For example, sleeping too much or too little can induce migraines, but keeping a more regular routine can help with occasional headaches, too.

“Tension-type headaches are different than migraines in that they’re not as severe; they don’t have the nausea, vomiting, and light, sound, and smell sensitivities,” Dr. Newman says. “But those healthy lifestyle tips work for any type.”

In any case, that means avoiding sleeping in on the weekends or vacations (sorry!) and sticking to a consistent bedtime and wake time.

      2. Eat regular meals every day.

If you’re not already eating breakfast, now’s the time to start. Fueling your body from sunup to sundown can also help keep headaches at bay. “If you can’t have three meals a day, at least have small, healthy snacks like almonds or raisins throughout the course of the day,” Dr. Newman advises.

      3. Try a workout.

Working out with a pounding head doesn’t exactly sound ideal, but hear this out: “Exercise can help because exercise releases endorphins, which are natural pain killers,” Dr. Newman explains.

Shoot for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise for week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services advises. That can include walking, swimming, biking, jogging, or your favorite heart-pumping class at the gym.

      jongjet303Getty Images

      4. Stay well hydrated.

Dehydration is a known trigger of migraines, Dr. Newman says, so make sure you’re sipping enough water.

Most of us need to drink at least eight cups per day, advises Jaclyn London, MS, RD, CDN, and that number goes up when you factor in heat, sweat, medications, and humidity shifts. “Start your day with a little refreshment in the form of 16 ounces of water — right away,” she says. Keeping a 16-ounce container of water on your nightstand or putting out a glass before bed to fill in your kitchen in the morning helps.”

      5. Keep stress in check.

A progressive muscle relaxation exercise can help unclench tensed muscles contributing to your headache, says Noah Rosen, MD, Director of Northwell Health’s Headache Center in Great Neck, New York. Here’s how to do it, according to the Cleveland Clinic:

      1. Focus your mind a specific muscle group, like the ones in your hand. Inhale and squeeze, making a tight fist, as hard as you can for about 8 seconds.
      2. Release the tension by exhaling and quickly opening your hand. Feel the muscles relax and the tension subside.
      3. Repeat with different muscle groups in your body, starting in your feet and moving up all the way to your face.
        1. Mindfulness techniques like guided imagery may also help you take your mind off the pain. “By finding a way to teach someone not to attend to the problem, it can reduce the impact,” Dr. Rosen explains.

          6. Drink some coffee.

If you usually down a few cups each morning and you’ve missed out this A.M., that’s the likely culprit behind your pain.

“There’s good evidence that if you do drink caffeine, you need to stay stable on the dose because reducing significantly can precipitate a withdrawal headache,” Dr. Rosen says. Since drinking too many caffeinated beverages can cause headaches in some people, try to average less than 150 milligrams of caffeine per day (about two 8-ounce cups of coffee), he adds.

          Julia_SudnitskayaGetty Images

          7. Reach for an ice pack or hot pack.

Which one you prefer is up to you, but they both can help with migraines and headaches. “Ice packs work because they basically numb the area,” Dr. Newman says. “Hot packs work because they increase the blood flow to that area.” If you’re at home, try stepping in the shower and letting the warm water hit your head.

          8. Get a massage.

With tension-type headaches, some people also experience increased muscle tension, so releasing the trigger points could help, Dr. Newman says. “Have your significant other or friend press on the trapezius muscles in your shoulders,” he advises. Pressing on the temple areas or over the ears can also help relieve bands of tight muscles.

          9. Seek out a dark, quiet room.

“One of the core symptoms of migraines is photosensitivity,” Dr. Rosen says. “Light and noise can be directly impairing. ” Distancing yourself from whatever’s exacerbating your pain can help you get back to 100% faster. If you can’t get away, try closing your eyes and relaxing for a moment.

          idalGetty Images

          10. Take a break from screens.

One of the most common symptoms associated with Computer Vision Syndrome or Digital Eye Strain is headaches, the American Optometric Association states. Whether it’s a computer, cell phone, or tablet, just scrolling up and down can trigger headaches in some people, Dr. Newman says. To prevent discomfort, the AOA recommends following what’s called the 20-20-20 rule: Take a 20 second break to view something 20 feet away every 20 minutes.

          11. Try a vitamin B2 supplement.

“High doses of vitamin B2 have been shown to decrease migraines,” Dr. Newman says. Taking 400 mg per day of the nutrient — also called riboflavin — had a positive effect on adult migraine patients, according to 2017 review in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics.

          12. Quit smoking.

The nicotine from cigarettes, cigars, and even secondhand smoke can contribute to headaches, especially migraines and cluster headaches. That’s because the compound triggers blood vessels to constrict and reduces blood flow to the brain, ultimately leaving you with a hurting head. Ditching the cigarettes or avoiding smokey places can prevent the pain in the first place, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

          13. Keep a diary to identify triggers.

Not only can a journal help you track symptoms that signal the onset of a headache or migraine, but it may also reveal the foods and drinks that trigger them. The specific culprits can vary from patient to patient, but aged cheeses, MSG-containing foods, and artificial sweeteners are a few common ones. Dark alcohols like red wine, whiskey, bourbon are also more likely to cause migraines than white wine, gin, or vodka, Dr. Newman says.

When to See a Doctor About Headaches

Don’t power through regular head pain solo. See a doctor if you’re experiencing headaches once per week or more or if they interfere with your everyday life. Not only can healthcare providers prescribe you medication, but they can also identify a potential underlying medical condition. Major red flags include:

          • Headaches with an explosive onset (“thunderclap headaches”)
          • Headaches that come on during certain activities (e.g., weight-lifting, coughing, exertion, sex)
          • Headaches with fever or stiff neck
          • Headaches associated with changes in cognition
          • Headaches with weakness or numbness
          • Headaches that start after age 50

Play it safe and always seek out professional help if you have any concern about your health. The American Migraine Foundation offers resources for how to talk to your practitioner about headaches in order to help you find the best plan of action.

            How to Relieve Headaches Naturally

Headaches are a common form of pain. Find ways to help relieve your discomfort, naturally.

            What is causing my headaches?

The most common type of headache is a tension headache often related to stress, depression, or anxiety. Other common types of headaches are migraines, cluster headaches, and sinus headaches.

What are the best natural remedies for headaches?

The following headache remedies can be effective in relieving some of the pain or discomfort caused by headaches:

            • A warm bath can help you relax and may also reduce any muscle pain that could be contributing to a tension headache.
            • Stay hydrated by drinking water. Adding foods with high water content like watermelon, celery, and cucumber to your diet can also help.
            • Meditation, including sitting in a comfortable position and regulating your breath until you feel relaxed, can help reduce tension caused by a headache.
            • Progressive muscle relaxation could also offer some relief. Begin to deepen and regulate your breathing while seated in a comfortable position. Mentally review your body’s pain points, breathing deeply to loosen up those trouble areas.
            • Listen to calming sounds, including music or recorded nature sounds. The rhythms and gentle melodies can help slow your breathing, promote relaxation, as well as help ease body pain or tension.

These natural remedies haven’t worked for me; what else can I do to figure out how to get rid of a headache?

If natural remedies for headaches are not working for you, consider any lifestyle factors that could be contributing. For example:

            • Regular exercise promotes good circulation.
            • Eat and sleep on a regular schedule.
            • Your headache may be a result of overexposure to screens like smartphones, TVs, and computers. Give your mind a break by adding some screen-free time into your schedule.
            • Your headache could be a symptom of strained eyesight. Figuring out how to get rid of a headache may be as simple as updating your eyeglass prescription.
            • Stop smoking.
            • Reduce the amount of alcohol you drink.

If none of these headache remedies work for you, visit your doctor

Small changes in your daily routines may help relieve headaches naturally. By changing your diet, you may be able to pinpoint any food or ingredients that trouble your system. Even reducing your exposure to digital screens may offer relief.

            Acupressure for Pain and Headaches

This information will help you learn how to apply acupressure to relieve headaches and other pain.

Acupressure massage is an ancient healing art based on the practice of acupuncture, which came to us from traditional Chinese medicine. With acupressure, pressure is exerted on certain points of the body. Such points are called acupuncture points. Massaging these points helps relieve muscle tension and improve blood circulation. It can also help alleviate many of the side effects of chemotherapy.

You can do acupressure at home by pressing your fingers on various acupuncture points. To learn how to do acupressure for headache and other pain relief, watch this video or follow the directions below.

This video will show you how to perform acupressure for headaches and generalized pain.

            Massage point LI-4 (He-gu)

The LI-4 massage point, also called the He-gu point, is located between the bases of the thumb and forefinger. Massaging this point eliminates headaches and other pain.

            1. Find the LI-4 massage point by placing your thumb between the bases of your thumb and forefinger (see Figure 1).
            2. Press on this point for 5 minutes.
Use your thumb to apply pressure in a circular motion.Squeeze hard enough without hurting.
            3. Repeat the procedure on the other arm.

You can do acupressure several times a day or as often as needed to relieve symptoms.

90,000 7 natural headache remedies that really work

Headache can be triggered by a number of
reasons: fatigue, stress, nutritional deficiencies and many others. Natural
remedies for this ailment are not only effective in relieving symptoms
headache, but are also able to eliminate the causes of its occurrence and do not have
            side effects.

            1. Water

Surprisingly, this is often all we need. TO
Unfortunately, many of us suffer from chronic dehydration. And the use
coffee, alcohol and sugary drinks only exacerbate the situation. As soon as you
have symptoms of an impending headache, drink one large glass
water. Continue drinking a lot throughout the day. Also increase the number
water in the body can be eaten by eating vegetables and fruits with a high content of it.Add
fresh cucumbers, celery, cabbage, zucchini, spinach in your daily diet,
            watermelon, grapefruit and orange.

            2. Magnesium

One of the most common problems of migraines and headaches
is the low level of magnesium in the body. Taking 400-600 mg of magnesium will enhance
blood flow to the brain and relieve the spasms that cause discomfort. Magnesium
can be taken on an ongoing basis – this will reduce the overall tendency of the body to
the appearance of migraines and headaches. For a quick effect, use liquid
nutritional supplements. You can also increase the level of magnesium by adding to the diet
foods high in plant foods, such as nuts and seeds, legumes,
            cereals, avocados, broccoli, and bananas.

            3. B vitamins

Lack of B vitamins – another possible and frequent
the cause of the headache. According to one of the theories about the causes of its occurrence,
nerve cells have too many tasks, and sometimes there is simply no energy to complete them
enough. So, vitamin B12 plays one of the most important roles in the production of the same
energy. Often patients with migraines are prescribed the whole complex of vitamins of the group.
B, which includes 8 vitamins: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid
acid, vitamin B12, biotin and pantothenic acid. Benefits of group vitamins
B is great: They not only relieve headache symptoms, but also improve
the state of brain cells, blood circulation, as well as the work of the cardiovascular and
            immune systems.

            4. Essential oils of lavender and pepper

The natural properties of these essential oils make them extremely
effective in relieving headaches. When applied to the skin , Peppermint Oil stimulates blood flow to the affected areas – this relieves cramping
and relieves pain. Lavender Oil works as a sedative and stabilizer
mood. Applying oils to relieve headaches is very simple. Mix
a few drops of both oils in the palms of your hands, followed by gentle massaging movements
apply to forehead, temples and back of neck.If the aroma is too intense for
you, just dilute the mixture with a little almond or coconut
oils. It would be ideal to find a quiet place where you can relax, mindfully and
breathe deeply and wait for the headache to begin to release.

            5. Herbs

There are a number of herbs that can weaken headaches.
pain. Among them is feverfew. It has a relaxing
effect on the narrowed blood vessels of the head. This herb has another
ability – to suppress inflammation and other types of pain. Action
pyrethrum is akin to aspirin, only this remedy is natural and therefore does not have
            side effects.

            Decoctions from chamomile and
collection of spring primrose, lavender, rosemary, mint and valerian.

            6. Ginger

            Ginger can reduce inflammation, including
number in the blood vessels. For headache relief, cook hot
ginger drink. Pour in 3 small pieces of fresh ginger in 2 cups
water, bring everything together to a boil and let it brew. Into the finished drink for
taste, add a slice of lemon and honey. Be sure to inhale when consuming
ginger couples – all together will have a pleasant sedative effect and ease

            7. Relaxing bath

cleansing of unnecessary toxins.Try to take a regular detox bath according to
this recipe. Pour hot water into the tub; temperature should be
high enough to stimulate the movement of toxins to the surface of the skin.
As the water cools down, your body will gradually rid itself of harmful
toxins. Take this bath once every 7-10 days. Add to the water:

1 cup of baking soda – it kills bacteria, reduces
inflammation and softening of the skin,

essential oils – for example, peppermint oil or

and 2 cups of apple cider vinegar – also known for its
healing properties, including the ability to relieve headaches,
tone the skin and have a beneficial effect on the joints.

Here are so many natural remedies that successfully fight against
headache. In general, try to listen to yourself, analyze what
could be the cause of the malaise that has arisen – perhaps it is a changed diet,
and the headache is caused by an allergic reaction. Or maybe your body is just
dehydrated or you have skipped meals and have a headache from a low level
            blood sugar.

A headache is a nuisance that every person has encountered at least once in his life. There are many different types of pain, but each of them equally negatively affects a person’s condition, limits his capabilities, and makes it difficult to carry out his usual activities. Before curing a headache, it is necessary to understand its location and possible causes. The head can ache due to pressure drops, vascular diseases, problems with the spine, intoxication, brain tumors and many other reasons, so this fact cannot be ignored in any case.

            How to relieve headaches?

If the head already hurts, but there is no way to see a doctor, then you can try to relieve the headache. If you are prone to high or low blood pressure, then, first of all, you need to measure it. If the reason is an increase or decrease in pressure, then a drug will help to normalize it for a headache. Also, the question of how to cure a headache often arises after stormy celebrations, in this case it will be enough to take anti-hangover. Frequent headaches can follow women in early pregnancy, treatment in this case must be selected together with a doctor. To quickly relieve pain caused by other causes, it is often recommended to lie down and relax, first of all, you can ventilate the room, especially if it is very stuffy.Traditional medicine recommends using peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil to relieve headaches.

Which doctor should I go to for a headache?

If the headache is a symptom or side effect of some disease you already know, it is worth discussing this point with your doctor. It can be high blood pressure or vascular problems, in any case, the attending physician knows the whole picture better. If you are just starting the treatment of headaches, then you can contact a therapist, he will collect an anamnesis and refer you to the right specialist or for additional research. If you do not know where to turn, contact the “Medical Center No. 1” – this is an institution with the best specialists and the latest medical equipment. symptom of various diseases. 90,000 Using Liquibase without headaches. 10 tips from real development experience

Liquibase is a database migration management system. This is the second article on Liquibase, this time containing tips for “combat” use of the system. To obtain basic information, the first translation article “Managing Database Migrations with Liquibase” (

            ) is suitable.

Like many tools that serve to make life easier for software developers, Liquibase has a “downside” that you have to face sooner or later.

Here are 10 things that at a certain point in my work with Liquibase were a discovery for me.

            1. The versioning of the application must be reflected in the structure of the migration folders

If you don’t follow this rule, the changelog files will quickly decorate the migration folder with their numbers and unusual names.

At the moment, for myself, I have worked out the optimal strategy for naming files and folders. Here it is:

              / db-migrations
                    / 2013-03-04--01-notifications.xml

            More details:

1.1. Changelogs of the database changes must be kept in separate folders and correspond to the versions of the application.

            • It is always easy to tell what changes to the data schema occurred during the transition from version to version of the application
            • Neatness in folders is maintained, does not allow you to relax.
1.2. Have a cumulative changelog file for each version

The main migration file is /db-migrations/changelog.xml. It includes (“include” tag) only cumulative changelog files of each version.

In turn, specific files with changesets are included in the cumulative changelogs of application versions.

Thus, it is possible not to litter the main changelog file.

            1.3. Observe file naming rules

The file naming rule allows you to understand what followed without looking at the cumulative file changelog.

              - -.xml
            DATE - changelog date
DATE_INCR - file increment on a specific date (when several files are added on the same day.)
            DESCR - description.

            2. Writing changesets is not easy, get this

Any changeset (don’t forget about its rollback section) can screw up your migration.

Writing changesets for a serious application is difficult, no matter how much we want it otherwise. This is especially true if you are migrating data.

If you have multiple deployment environments, and if your application already has a PROD environment, double concentration, perseverance, testing in an environment with similar data, testing rollbacks is required.

            3. Many small changesets are better than one large

One changeset – one transaction. If the data changes a lot, it is better to have smaller transactions.

Work on them in isolation, don’t add multiple changes to one changeset, think about the content of the rollback tag. Better a lot of simple and even the same type than one complex and indistinct.

            4. Changelogs that change the database schema must be atomic

I can’t say about many databases, but at least in Oracle and MySQL, DDL statements are not included in the transaction.

This means that if an error occurs when starting the changset, the DDL statements executed before the error will remain in the database.

            Example (so wrong):

If an error occurs while adding the index, the HOUSES table will not be dropped!
How to avoid pain? Each change to the database schema must live in its own changelog.

            Example (so correct):

            5.Migration script run path is

Look at the two commands to run the database schema migration script

              cd c: / mychangelogs /
            liquibase --url = jdbc: mysql: // localhost: 3306 / liquiblog --driver = com.mysql.jdbc.Driver --username = root --password = "" --changeLogFile = db.changelog-0.1.0. xml update
              liquibase --url = jdbc: mysql: // localhost: 3306 / liquiblog --driver = com.mysql.jdbc.Driver --username = root --password = "" --changeLogFile = c: / mychangelogs /db.changelog-0.1.0.xml update

It seems that the second team shouldn’t roll any changes. But this is not the case, Liquibase stores the path to the changelog file in the FILENAME column of the DATABASECHANGELOG table.

Due to this fact, on the second launch, Liquibase will consider all changesets to be new. It can break your data schema!

How to avoid pain? Always start changelogs using relative paths from the same directory.

6.The precondition conditions do not affect the checksum of the changelog

This is good news for error lovers (that is, all of us, sooner or later). Sometimes this allows you to change the conditions for using the changset, thus “correcting the past.”

            7. Liquibase is not that good for frequently changing data

Once we tried to migrate many of the same type, but changing from version to version of the configuration data through the changelogs. It turned out very sadly – constantly someone from the team made mistakes, the error went to the test environment, it had to be rolled back completely manually (remember the checksum of the changesets?).

The bleak picture had to be corrected with a sober approach to the specific situation. Liquibase was left for changes to the data schema, and the configuration data with each version was poured into a Groovy script with a properties file as a source.

            8. Do not believe the scripts for automatic generation of changesets

            Liquibase is able to generate

            • changesets according to the existing database schema,
            • differences in the database compared to the available changesets (applicable for Grails).

These amenities must be treated with caution. This is just a little getting rid of the routine, nothing more. All changesets must be viewed, understood and tested. You don’t want to fix a logical error (generated by a stupid utility) that left for PROD, right?

            9. Use XML, not DSL

Sometimes you want to “make life easier” and abandon XML by using a shorter DSL (groovy, yaml, json)

This is all very good until you want to have:

            • Autocomplete in IDE
            • Automatic verification of the formal correctness of the document according to the data schema

Well, why give up such useful things in favor of brevity? Apparently, I’m not such a good programmer as to give up autocompletion for the sake of slightly better code readability.

            10. Study someone else’s experience

Although I learned most of the points in this article from my own experience, the official guide on best practices for using Liquibase improves the perception of the tool (

RED by SFR is an inexpensive branch of the SFR operator. Launched in 2011, the brand is primarily a reaction to the rapid growth of Free, which at the time was dramatically reducing the prices of its packages.RED by SFR subscriptions quickly distinguished themselves from the competition by offering very aggressive, non-binding bids. Flexibility and personalization are key to the success of this highly attractive mobile offering, which is regularly ranked as the best mobile plan .

            Editorial review

For large data consumers, RED by SFR offers a free 4G data plan for mobile devices with at least 100 GB of mobile internet. This RED package offers 100 GB in very high speed 4G / 4G + (possibility of 4 maximum top-ups per month from 1 GB to 2 €)

Why The-HiTech.net recommends RED by SFR?

            • 4G plans with no commitment and no price that doubles in a year 90,020
            • Offers without conditions of duration
            • Excellent network coverage in France

How does the RED by SFR offer work?

A low-cost subsidiary of SFR has taken an original approach for several months: a single, fully customizable package. Unless there is an offering at very low prices like the competition, it is clear that RED by SFR strikes a big blow by offering us attractive pricing with large data packages and tons of customization options….

Details of a single RED by SFR package for 14 € per month:

Ability to add many options at will: more data, access to SFR TV applications, double call, etc.

            • 80 GB data in 4G
            • Unlimited calls / SMS / MMS on the French mainland
            • 8 GB 4G data in the European Union

RED by SFR, like most of its low-cost competitors, gives us access to the package without obligation. This way, you can terminate your contract whenever you want.
The company stands out for its pricing practice: if you choose a promotional offer, for example 100 GB for € 20 per month instead of 80 GB, even after the first year. After the first year, there will be no drop in data, nor even a rise in prices. This is the real strength of RED by SFR, which is radically different from its competitors!
However, when retrieving the parcel, take into account the additional charge of ten euros per SIM card.It is versatile and therefore compatible with any smartphone on the market. If you ever intend to keep your current phone number, this is quite possible thanks to number portability through the RIO system.
However, be careful when you visit RED, there are some restrictions on the package:

            • Maximum 3 hours per call to France and foreign departments
            • Maximum 200 recipients per month
            • If the data limit is exceeded, a top-up charge of € 2 per GB will be charged, with a limit of four top-ups per month.

As you can see, the base offer is already very attractive, far surpassing most competitors who are doubling their prices after the first year. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg: the options available are just overblown and further improve the value for money of the unique RED by SFR package!

            Unique & Customizable Offer

SFR’s low-cost offering is radically different from the competition. While RED by SFR has offered multiple subscriptions since its launch, at the end of 2019 there have been major changes with the emergence of a single modular package.
However, the operator retains what has been successful, namely a price that does not increase, even if you benefit from the limited promotion. In addition, the low cost of the SFR component does not require any commitment from customers. In this way, RED is trying to attract into its ranks people who want to have control over their mobile data plan without having to manipulate different operators in order to keep the price affordable.
Therefore, RED by SFR focuses its strategy on a single à la carte packaging.Offered from € 15 per month, it displays a beautiful envelope of 80GB of data in 4G as well as unlimited calls / SMS / MMS. But let’s take a closer look at what this flexible package offers us.

Options for upgrading your mobile plan

The biggest advantage of the RED package is its modularity. When it comes to subscription, there are several options available to you. The most popular is the one that allows you to go from 80 GB of data to 100 GB for only € 20 per month. If you are an avid consumer, it is obvious that you will have to pay attention to RED by SFR in order to satisfy your internet communication needs!
However, it would be a shame to settle for an impressive data package offered by an inexpensive operator.Indeed, there are many other options available to users, some of which are free. We’re thinking about accessing the SFR Cloud, which gives you 1GB of online storage for free. There are also several free options available to control your anonymity in paper or online directories. As for those who pay, they start at one euro per month.

With 80GB 4G or even 100GB, you probably want to enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows from your smartphone. The good thing is that you can subscribe to OCS, Netflix, or Amazon Prime whenever you want. For readers, YouBoox and SFR Presse are holding out their hands to you. Here we see variable rates ranging from € 5 to € 15 per month depending on the platform.
Controlling all these parameters couldn’t be easier: RED by SFR provides its users with a very practical smartphone app called RED & Moi. With just a few adjustments, your plan will instantly adapt to your needs. If necessary, you can stop any option at any time to return to your base rate.If you don’t like this application, you still have the option to manage the modular plan through the operator’s website. Simple and practical!

Variants of calls and messages abroad

do you travel often? Don’t worry, RED by SFR provides you with many options for receiving and sending calls and messages abroad.
By subscribing to the operator’s modular plan, you will receive 8 GB of data in the European Union. If exceeded, it will cost 0.004 € / month.Calls / SMS / MMS are not restricted from within the EU under the same conditions as calls to mainland France.

Suppose now that you have a family in Europe or in another country. RED by SFR offers several options. Thus, calls from France to EU landlines are available from one euro per month. If you want to get in touch with the US on a regular basis, this opportunity increases to two euros per month. Unlimited SMS messages to Europe outside of France are also charged one euro per month.
Finally, tourists will find many Stay Packs that cover a large number of destinations: Asia, America, the Middle East … Each package contains a certain amount of data, as well as a limited quota for calls and SMS. How does the RED by SFR referral program work?

Sponsoring is another way to save a lot, since we are talking about several months of free tariff plans. RED by SFR is also beating its competitors in this area as it is one of the few that does not set limits on the number of referrals you can sponsor.
The operation is very simple. When you sign up for a RED by SFR mobile or boxed package, you will receive a sponsorship code to send to your friends and family. When a godson registers with an operator, he only needs to enter this code upon request. Once their subscription is confirmed, they will receive a free month, just like you as a sponsor.
However, be careful: even if the number of referrals is unlimited, certain conditions must be met. First of all, the godson must not have had an active subscription to RED by SFR in the last three months.Secondly, the referral code is only valid for three months from the date it was sent to the referral. Finally, you should know that the offer is valid only once per referral.

Why choose the RED by SFR mobile tariff plan?

It’s hard to deny this, RED by SFR is a very attractive brand with its à la carte concept and low prices almost all year round. But in the war raging between the four major French operators, other arguments are needed to stand out. Here are some of the strengths of the low-cost subsidiary SFR.

Network infrastructure of SFR, the second largest operator in France

Having a lot of options and managing your package as you wish is good. But it’s best to use optimal coverage no matter where you live. To do this, RED relies on the solid network infrastructure of SFR, which is nothing less than the second French operator after Orange.

As you can see on the map above, all of France is covered with 4G and 4G + antennas, or at least 3G. Thus, the company’s relay antennas cover the 3G network needs of 99% of the population. For 4G and 4G +, SFR provides 98.7% coverage, which puts the red operator at the top of the ZD Net barometer.
The low-cost RED offering thus benefits from a very robust infrastructure. Unless you live in a very remote area, in the countryside or in the mountains, you will get a network flawlessly under all circumstances.Huge advantage over other less affluent operators or MVNO operators who juggle operators to provide their services.

            24/7 digital customer service

Despite solid experience and very good infrastructure, an incident can always happen. In this case, it is important to be able to quickly contact support. RED by SFR provides you with several ways to solve your problems as quickly as possible or simply answer your questions.

The first is a large FAQ, full of basic questions you might be asking yourself, from just starting your line to solving more complex problems. If you don’t find a suitable answer, RED by SFR will provide you with a forum. This allows the brand’s clients to connect with consultants. Questions and answers are available to everyone, allowing everyone to benefit from their experience.
Like many competitive low-cost brands, RED also relies on digital technology to facilitate contact. Thus, the teams of the brand can be contacted 24/7 via Twitter and Facebook, as well as via live chat. This way, customer support is easily accessible through your preferred means of communication!

            Non-binding and highly flexible offer

Who currently wants to do 12 or 24 months deals with the same operator? Not many people … RED by SFR understands this well and therefore does not offer a binding package. This way, you can switch to another operator at any time, whether it be two weeks after your subscription or several years later.
We also find that sense of freedom in the modularity offered by the RED package. No other competitor offers as vast a range of options as SFR. With simplified access through the RED & Me app, you can select a new option or change the data envelope in just a few seconds. Moreover, by relying on this modularity, the brand is attracting more and more customers.

Excellent mobile and 4G coverage in France

As we saw above, RED benefits from the SFR infrastructure, which is nothing more than the second French operator. This highly reliable and secure network not only covers the entire territory in 3G and 4G, but also provides a high level of performance for calls as well as SMS / MMS. Thus, GSM coverage covers 99.6% of the French population.

The map above shows the areas served by a second national operator. If you don’t live in a cave, you will have no problem making calls or sending messages to your loved ones!

Good European and global coverage thanks to Vodafone network

Sorry for the bad pun, but SFR doesn’t hesitate to turn a blind eye to … network coverage. The French operator relies on a partnership with Vodafone to maintain its edge over the competition. This way, you can use your package in the traditional way while traveling in Europe at no extra charge. This way, 4G calls, messages and data won’t cost you more than usual as long as you stay within your range.

Customers who travel up and down the world will benefit from many Stay Packs specially tailored for many regions of the world such as Asia, the United States or even the Middle East. These packages combine the essentials for comfortable communication abroad.

Can you trust RED by SFR customer support?

Many users are often afraid of switching to after-sales service. We have to admit that it is never pleasant to run into automated servers, which are often heavy and very repulsive … RED by SFR fortunately offers many ways to avoid this obstacle course.

100% digital customer service available anytime

Digital technology is on the rise. Therefore, the low-cost subsidiary SFR makes heavy use of it to guide customers when needed. Thus, the answers to most of the questions can be found in the FAQ available on the official website or in the RED & Me app. The most common operations are described here: activating a SIM card, managing your package options, terminating your offer, etc.

            Company History RED by SFR

Only the oldest of us will remember the time when the telephony world in France was ruled by three operators: France Telecom (which became Orange after privatization), Bouygues and SFR.
Société française du radiotéléphone was established in 1987. First it belonged to the Compagnie Générale des Eaux, then it was bought by Vivendi and then Altice. In terms of market share, SFR immediately lags behind Orange, making it the second largest telecom operator in France.
Fixed and mobile telephony for professionals and individuals are the main areas of activity. RED by SFR and SFR Business are subsidiaries focused on small budgets and businesses, respectively.

            Birth of RED from SFR

About a decade ago, mobile offerings were still very different from what we know today. To be honest, it is simply impossible to return to such packages these days!
Seniors will remember the proud Nokia 3310 powered by memorable packages. For each call, SMS and MMS, an accurate bill was actually charged with a monthly quota that could not be exceeded. Suffice it to say that it was better not to be too talkative so as not to stay dry at the end of the month …
In 2009, a new telecom operator appeared that was supposed to revolutionize the market in a few years: free mobile communications. At first considered a bad contender, Free quickly proved itself with new modes of operation, besides the limitations of the old packages.
Faced with the rise of this troublemaker, SFR is launching at the end of 2011 a new brand dedicated to mobile phones: RED by SFR.Orange and Bouygues, for their part, are doing the same, rebooting the market at full speed and radically changing the way we think about telephony.

Launch of the first low-cost unlimited calls and SMS / MMS RED from SFR without obligation

When it was born, RED by SFR was not the brand we know today. The company’s marketing teams have not yet thought about a unique modular package. There was only one goal at the time: to prevent the spread of Free.
Thus, the appearance of RED by SFR was made with four packages:
As you can see, it was here that the first packages with unlimited SMS and MMS were received.Calls are always limited, as is data. As for the prices, they are far from being as attractive as they are now!
Despite everything, RED by SFR is clearly the most aggressive competitor to Free, constantly cutting prices. A method that works and allows the operator to keep the second position in the fight against the fourth thief of telecommunications companies.

            • RED series 30 minutes of calls at the price of 12 euros per month with unlimited SMS and MMS;
            • RED Series 3 hours of calls for 19 € per month with unlimited SMS and MMS;
            • RED Series 8 hours of calls at a price of 29 euros per month, unlimited SMS and MMS, mobile Internet up to 500 MB;
            • RED Series 2 hours of calls for 34 euros per month, unlimited SMS and MMS, mobile internet up to 2 GB.

RED by SFR: Low Price and Stock War Cadre on Mobile Plans

Since the entry into force of Free and the launch of the € 2 service package in 2012, the price battle between the four French operators continued to escalate.
In most cases, when a new idea is born in a brand, competitors take it with great fanfare. In fact, nowadays it is rare to find a mobile data plan that is not available for sale.
In this little game, RED by SFR is probably the most adventurous. Thus, the low-cost subsidiary SFR was the first to offer an unlimited data package for Black Friday in 2019. It is also the first company to provide its users with a 100 GB package without any obligation even after the first year. What about a unique package that you can customize as you wish? Another idea launched by RED!

Value Added Services and Data Packages: Pioneers of the Low-Cost Telephone Operator

Strong market movements since 2011 have forced operators to reconsider their strategies.Calls, SMS and MMS are now unlimited almost everywhere, the battle is being conducted at the level of data envelopes and options.
RED by SFR understands this. As such, this low-cost subsidiary uses a variety of options to carve out its famous single package of up to 100 GB of data for less than € 20 per month. The use of “all-digital” is ideally aligned with the brand’s goals, underscoring numerous partnerships with multiple streaming services such as beIN Sport or the VoD SFR TV platform.
In the RED & Me app or on the RED website, it’s very easy to activate new settings in seconds. Thus, everyone can compose a package of their choice according to their wishes and needs. RED by SFR is also gearing up for the upcoming 5G launch, and in a few months we have some nice surprises!

RED takeover of Virgin Mobile by SFR

SFR is a relatively turbulent company with several successive acquisitions.A year after taking over Altice, in 2016, SFR is closing the curtain on the Virgin Mobile brand.
Thus, subscribers of the latter see their optional subscriptions migrate to RED via SFR, while subscribers with commitment are redirected to more traditional SFR packets.

Brand redesign: from red with SFR to green with RED

Green logo for the name, which means red: SFR is really no different from other operators. Thus, the second French operator, with the help of its low-cost subsidiary, is trying to attract the attention of the younger generation, the indigenous people of digital technologies.
So in 2016, RED by SFR is undergoing big changes to achieve the result we know now: an improved logo, a new color and especially new very aggressive offerings, including the famous 15 GB package for 15 euros per month. An opportunity for an operator to catch up on 4G offerings by highlighting their low cost offerings.
This change in visual identity has also been accompanied by the RED & Moi app, a real control center for your mobile plan.Available for Android and iOS, this app allows users to closely monitor their consumption, add or remove options from their subscription, and contact support around the clock.
So the low-cost SFR brand wants to be younger but also more mature than ever.

RED by SFR in 2020: Conquest Strategy

RED is still a young brand. However, he managed to find a place of choice at the zenith, impressed the perfume with its packages at specific prices. Thus, the future of the low-cost subsidiary of the second operator in France seems very clear.

The frantic race for promotion doesn’t seem to be over. Therefore, RED by SFR intends to beat Free Mobile, Sosh or B & You.
For this, the low-cost brand seems to be banking on long-term promotional offers. Unlike its competitors, RED’s discounted package does not increase its price over time. Have you purchased the 100 GB promotion for 12 € per month? Whether it’s six months, a year, or more, the price won’t double.Agree, this is a great argument in favor of customer loyalty!
After all, RED by SFR seems to be constantly offering promotions on its packaging. The price of € 15 per month, originally planned for the 60 GB package, is only a distant memory, the offer is fixed at € 12 per month for a permanent operator.
Thus, it can be expected that the brand will continue to develop in the coming year. It’s also no surprise that the No Limits package will be reintroduced by Black Friday 2020!

SFR: mobile fleet of more than 15 million subscribers at the end of 2019

How successful is the SFR subsidiary with its flexible service package and very aggressive promotions? Seems to be yes.
Yield for 2019 is more than positive, according to Altice, the parent company of SFR and RED by SFR. Thus, SFR and RED have a client base of almost 16 million subscribers to their mobile offerings. 90,035 In France alone, turnover increased by 5.9% in 2019, reaching at least € 10.8 billion this year. The rise in price of some packages will not scare away buyers.
Proposals for fixed telephony and fiber optics were not left aside. As such, SFR indicated that in 2019 it had at least 2.84 million fiber subscribers and 6.36 million fixed-line users. So numbers are growing across all telecom sectors, making SFR and its low-cost subsidiary a real driving force for Altice!

            RED by SFR: The-HiTech.net

            User Review

Offering a single package with flexible capabilities, RED by SFR is striking a serious blow to the nest of mobile operators.
Thus, the second operator in France stands out among the competitors, even beating the pawn of Free mobile, but for a long time it was considered the most aggressive of all.RED by SFR combines a completely digital approach and maximum personalization, and does not forget about the main thing: to offer quality services to its users. Thus, the inexpensive branch of the Internet provider in Red Square has excellent network coverage and high 4G speed throughout the country, as well as abroad.
One might think that the lack of a proposal for less than ten euros would be a brake on the expansion of RED at the expense of SFR. This is wrong. If an operator no longer offers prices as low as they once did, their marketing strategy is impressive, in particular regular promotions targeting unlimited data packages.
Thus, RED by SFR is a serious competitor for other low-cost operators. Its very aggressive approach to data envelopes and its prices allow it to attract more and more people to it. Not to mention, the operator also has a reliable network to its credit, which ranks second in France, right after Orange.
If your package needs to be adaptable while remaining affordable, then there is no doubt that RED by SFR is the mobile operator for you!

            RED from SFR

Thanks to its winning strategy and very aggressive pricing policy, RED has managed to make its offer one of the most understandable and most competitive on the market. In our opinion, its optional package offers the best compromise between price and performance. Multiple promotions that highlight RED’s campaigns are a really great opportunity to change plans.

90 000 health benefits, what heals, how to choose and folk recipes

The seeds of the plant, whose flowers are so similar to buttercups, resemble common caraway, but differ from it in color, aroma and useful properties.Black cumin (also called Indian cumin, nigella, Roman coriander, jira, kalindzhi and seidana) is used as a medicine and aromatic spice in many countries of the world. We will tell you how to use it with health benefits.

What was treated with black cumin in antiquity

Black cumin was appreciated and loved by the ancient Egyptians: a vessel with caraway oil was found during excavations of the tomb of the legendary Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Of course, there were no instructions for use on it, but it is known for sure that, setting off on the last journey to the kingdom of Osiris, both the kings and the poor took with them only the most valuable and best, which was pleasing and beneficial even during their lifetime.

In ancient times, black cumin seeds and oil were used to treat headaches and toothaches, runny nose, cough and other infections of the nasopharynx, asthma and arthritis, to get rid of parasites. In addition, conjunctivitis was treated with powder and oil.

In Egypt, this oil is still called “the gold of the Pharaohs.” Even if we take into account the peculiarity of local residents to embellish the facts purely for commercial reasons, it is still clear that the healing properties of black cumin were known thousands of years ago.

From Arabic, the name of black seeds is translated as “the seeds of the blessing of heaven”: even the prophet Muhammad said that they can heal all diseases except death. This is directly written in the Quran, so it is not surprising that in any home of the faithful there is always black cumin oil. It is also mentioned in the Bible.

The benefits of black cumin seeds and oil from it

Scientists have been studying the properties of seeds and oil for only a couple of decades, so surprisingly little is known about their composition and beneficial qualities.Perhaps the whole point is that black cumin is popular primarily in Muslim eastern countries, where the traditions of ancestors are not accepted to be questioned (including scientific). But the fact that cumin has been used for healing, healing and culinary purposes for centuries speaks for itself. We are sure that in the coming years there will be more scientific data about this amazing seasoning, but for now we will study the already available proven information.

Some scientists, for example, believe that black cumin seeds may help strengthen the immune system, fight cancer, and reduce swelling and allergic reactions by acting as an antihistamine.

The chemical composition of seeds is not fully understood, but it is known for sure that they contain essential oils, melantol (which is also still being studied), vitamins and trace elements:

            • calcium,
            • iron,
            • zinc,
            • copper,
            • thiamine,
            • niacin,
            • phosphorus,
            • folic acid.

It was possible to establish that the medicinal properties of seeds are mainly due to the action of the active compound thymoquinone, which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and other therapeutic properties that protect cells from damage, and the body from chronic diseases.

This allows scientists to talk about the effectiveness of black cumin seeds or oil in the treatment of a number of diseases.

            Acne and atopic dermatitis

Research shows that applying a gel containing black seed extract to the skin can help treat skin inflammation and irritation, including age-related or drug-related and hormonal disruptions.

It is believed that consuming black seed along with asthma medications can alleviate coughs and wheezing and improve lung function in some people with lung conditions.

Black cumin is also effective as an adjuvant for ailments that cause difficulty breathing or sputum discharge from the lungs (for example, in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). At the same time, it is noted that this is true only for those participants in scientific experiments who simultaneously used inhalers prescribed by a doctor with other specialized medicines.

Taking black seed can even out blood sugar levels in people with diabetes and normalize cholesterol levels in those who need it (including those with prediabetes).

Taking a remedy consisting of black seed oil, honey, and water can reduce unpleasant symptoms. Of course, in this case, a person with a digestive disorder should adhere to a special diet and take all the drugs prescribed by the doctor.

            Mild gum disease (gingivitis)

Some research suggests that applying black seed extract around teeth and gums can help reduce plaque, swelling, and redness from gingivitis. We emphasize once again that the use of black cumin is an auxiliary procedure and no one canceled the same cleaning at the dentist.

            High cholesterol

Continuous intake of crushed seeds increases the level of “good” cholesterol in the blood (as it is commonly called high-density lipoproteins) and reduces the amount of “bad” (low-density lipoproteins) and fat (triglycerides).

Taking black cumin seed oil or powder can help you shed those extra pounds.Obviously, for a long-term effect, it is necessary to deal with possible hormonal imbalances, balance diet, drink plenty of water and exercise within reasonable limits.

            • decreased immunity,
            • bronchitis,
            • constipation,
            • digestive problems, including intestinal gas and diarrhea,
            • chronic fatigue (physical and emotional),

How to choose and store black cumin seeds

The seeds have a characteristic spicy aroma with bitterness. If the spice does not smell of anything or the smell is weak, there are impurities of other spices or chemicals in it, it is better to refuse to buy such black cumin. Most likely, it was stored for too long or was not stored correctly. Seeds should be smooth, deep black, without white or yellow bloom.

It is best to purchase black cumin from a pharmacy or a trusted and reputable online store, since there is less chance of getting to an unscrupulous seller.

Store black cumin seeds in a tightly closed glass or porcelain jar in a dark, dry place to preserve their delicious aroma and health benefits best. Under these conditions, black cumin seeds can be stored for up to two years (discard the contents of the can immediately if the smell changes, the appearance of insects or mold).

You need to buy oil only in proven places . In the same Egypt, up to 75% of products for tourists are fake. Most often, really high-quality black cumin oil is heavily bred with cheap palm oil. The resulting mixture is very light and tasteless and has no benefit.

It is best to purchase small dark glass bottles, since the shelf life after opening the container will be short – up to two months (provided that it is stored in a cool dry place).
