This means that even if they don’t have larger amounts of gas, they’re more likely to experience the uncomfortable symptoms of bloat and abdominal distension.
Gastroparesis is another digestive condition that can lead to bloating. Gastroparesis is a condition that delays stomach emptying. When the stomach empties more slowly than normal, it can cause bloating, nausea, and constipation.
There’s no cure for bloating and gas, but there are treatments that can help control uncomfortable symptoms.
For years, people have been using apple cider vinegar (ACV) to treat digestive issues like gas and bloating. Although there’s not yet any scientific evidence to support its use, anecdotal reports suggest that ACV may be an effective natural treatment option.
ACV is often touted as a cure-all capable of treating everything from acne to cancer. Unfortunately, many of these claims are exaggerated or even completely false.
There’s no scientific evidence to suggest that ACV is an effective treatment for bloating or gas. In fact, the only clinical study ever completed on ACV and digestive problems found that ACV can actually impair gastric emptying.
The small study, conducted in 10 patients with type 1 diabetes and diabetic gastroparesis, found that ACV slowed down, rather than sped up, gastric emptying.
When gastric emptying slows, it takes the muscles in the stomach and intestines longer to push stool out of the body. The longer it remains in the intestines, the more gas it produces. Therefore, ACV could potentially make your symptoms of gas and bloating worse.
However, people who don’t have gastroparesis may find that ACV aids in digestion, as many have claimed.
If you have low stomach acid, for example, you may experience bloating due to bacteria buildup in your stomach. This can happen when food isn’t broken down. Because ACV may help increase stomach acid and may also be antimicrobial in nature, it could theoretically help.
There are many ways to incorporate ACV into a healthy diet. Some people drink ACV straight, but others prefers to mix it with water or other liquids.
To reap the many benefits of ACV, consider taking about 1 tablespoon once or twice per day.
When you purchase ACV, make sure to get a brand that contains “the mother.” The mother is a layer composed of yeast and acetic acid bacteria. It forms naturally during the fermentation process.

Anise, also called aniseed or Pimpinella anisum, is a plant that hails from the same family as carrots, celery and parsley.
It can grow up to 3 feet (1 meter) tall and produces flowers and a small white fruit known as anise seed.
Anise has a distinct, licorice-like taste and is often used to add flavor to desserts and drinks.
It’s also known for its powerful health-promoting properties and acts as a natural remedy for a wide variety of ailments.
Here are 7 benefits and uses of anise seed, backed by science.
1. Rich in Nutrients
Though anise seed is used in relatively small amounts, it packs a good amount of several important micronutrients into each serving.
In particular, anise seed is rich in iron, which is vital for the production of healthy blood cells in your body (1).
It also contains a small amount of manganese, a key mineral that acts as an antioxidant and is necessary for metabolism and development (2).
One tablespoon (7 grams) of anise seed provides approximately (3):
- Calories: 23
- Protein: 1 gram
- Fat: 1 gram
- Carbs: 3 grams
- Fiber: 1 gram
- Iron: 13% of the Reference Daily Intake (RDI)
- Manganese: 7% of the RDI
- Calcium: 4% of the RDI
- Magnesium: 3% of the RDI
- Phosphorus: 3% of the RDI
- Potassium: 3% of the RDI
- Copper: 3% of the RDI
However, keep in mind that most recipes will likely call for less than a tablespoon.

Depression is a common yet debilitating condition that affects up to 25% of women and 12% of men around the world (4).
Interestingly, some research has found that anise seed may help treat depression.
One study showed that anise seed extract exhibited powerful antidepressant properties in mice and was as effective as a common prescription medication used to treat depression (5).
What’s more, in another study in 107 people, taking 3 grams of anise seed powder three times daily was effective at reducing symptoms of postpartum depression (6).
Similarly, in a four-week study in 120 people, taking a capsule with 200 mg of anise oil three times daily significantly decreased symptoms of mild to moderate depression, compared to a control group (7).
Summary Human and animal studies reveal that anise seed may help reduce symptoms of depression and may be as effective as some types of antidepressants.
3. Could Protect Against Stomach Ulcers
Stomach ulcers, also called gastric ulcers, are a painful sore that forms in the lining of your stomach, causing symptoms like indigestion, nausea and a burning sensation in your chest.
Though traditional treatment typically involves the use of medications to decrease the production of stomach acid, preliminary research suggests that anise seed could help prevent stomach ulcers and reduce symptoms.
For instance, one animal study noted that anise reduced stomach acid secretion, helping prevent the formation of stomach ulcers and protecting cells against damage (8).
However, research on anise seed’s effects on stomach ulcers is still very limited.
Additional studies are needed to understand how it may impact ulcer formation and symptoms in humans.

4. Prevents the Growth of Fungi and Bacteria
Test-tube studies show that anise seed and its compounds possess potent antimicrobial properties that prevent infections and block the growth of fungi and bacteria.
One test-tube study demonstrated that anise seed and anise essential oil were especially effective against certain strains of fungi, including yeasts and dermatophytes, a type of fungus that can cause skin disease (9).
Anethole, the active ingredient in anise seed, inhibits bacterial growth as well.
In one test-tube study, anethole blocked the growth of a specific strain of bacteria that causes cholera, an infection characterized by severe diarrhea and dehydration (10).
However, further research is needed to examine how anise seed may affect the growth of fungi and bacteria in humans.

5. Could Help Relieve Menopause Symptoms
Menopause is the natural decline in women’s reproductive hormones during aging, resulting in symptoms like hot flashes, fatigue and dry skin.
Anise seed is thought to mimic the effects of estrogen in your body, potentially reducing symptoms of menopause (11).
In one four-week study, 72 women with hot flashes took either a placebo or a capsule containing 330 mg of anise seed three times daily. Those taking anise experienced a nearly 75% reduction in severity and frequency of hot flashes (12).
Some of the compounds in anise seed may also help prevent bone loss, one of the hallmark symptoms of menopause that occurs as a result of declining estrogen levels in your body (13).
One study found that an essential oil comprised of 81% anethole, the active ingredient in anise, helped prevent bone loss and protect against osteoporosis in rats (14).
Despite these promising results, more research is needed to determine how anise seed itself may affect menopause symptoms in women.

6. May Balance Blood Sugar Levels
Some research indicates that anethole, the active ingredient in anise seed, may keep blood sugar levels in check when paired with a healthy diet.
In one 45-day study in diabetic rats, anethole helped reduce high blood sugar by altering levels of several key enzymes. Anethole also enhanced the function of pancreas cells that produce insulin (15).
Another animal study also reported that anethole improved blood sugar levels in rats with diabetes (16).
Keep in mind that these studies are using a concentrated dose of anethole — much higher than what is found in a typical serving of anise seed.
More studies are needed to evaluate how anise seed may affect blood sugar levels in humans.

7. Can Reduce Inflammation
In many cases, inflammation is considered a normal response by your immune system to protect against injuries and infection.
However, high levels of long-term inflammation are linked to chronic conditions, such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes (17).
Animal and test-tube studies suggest that anise seed may reduce inflammation to promote better health and prevent disease.
For example, one study in mice showed that anise seed oil reduced swelling and pain (18).
Other research indicates that anise seed is high in antioxidants, which can reduce inflammation and prevent disease-causing oxidative damage (19).

Possible Side Effects
Most people can safely consume anise without the risk of adverse side effects.
However, it could trigger an allergic reaction, especially if you’re allergic to plants in the same family — such as fennel, celery, parsley or dill.
Additionally, anise’s estrogen-mimicking properties could worsen symptoms of hormone-sensitive conditions, like breast cancer or endometriosis (11, 20).
If you have a history of these conditions, keep intake in moderation and talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.

Dosage and Supplements
Though typically purchased as dried seeds, anise is available in oil, powder and extract form as well.
Anise seed, oil and extract can all bring a burst of flavor to baked goods and candies or enhance the aroma of soaps and skin creams.
Most recipes call for a few teaspoons (4–13 grams or 5–15 ml) of ground anise seed, oil or extract.
Keep in mind that each form contains varying concentrations of anise, so it’s important to modify your recipe depending on what form you’re using.
For example, if a recipe requires 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of anise extract, you can swap in 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) of anise oil or 2 teaspoons (8 grams) of ground anise seed.
For medicinal use, anise doses ranging from 600 mg to 9 grams daily have been proven effective in the treatment of conditions like depression (6, 7).
Doses of up to 20 grams per day of anise seed powder are considered safe for healthy adults (6).

Ways to reduce gas consumption for cars with LPG 4
The transition from gasoline to gas has long ceased to be news. In connection with the endless increase in fuel prices, car owners see no other choice but to install a LPG system on their “swallows”. The main reason for changing the type of fuel is to reduce consumption and save money on it.
There is one proven remedy with a 100% effect – to abandon the car altogether. And for those who are unable to part with their iron friend, we will try to reveal the secrets of how to save gas and what to pay attention to.
Causes of increased gas consumption
From the very beginning, you need to understand that installing HBO on a car will not change your consumption figure down. What is meant?
- From practice, gas consumption will increase by 10% compared to gasoline in cars with the PRIDE by AEB system. If gasoline was consumed, say, 10 liters per 100 km, then gas will be consumed 11 liters per 100 km. Savings will only be due to the price of fuel.
- For LPG kits made in Turkey or Poland, the consumption is even higher – 15-20% compared to gasoline. Payback and savings will come after passing 20-30 thousand kilometers.
Car owners must be prepared to accept this information and this state of affairs. In the event that you notice more fuel consumption than we have indicated above, there are two options.
- Change your usual gas station if you constantly use the services of the same gas station. Perhaps the quality of fuel there is lower than in other places.
- If the first option did not work, and the flow rate is still high, the problem may lie in the components of the gas installation itself. This will result in a reduction in engine life. Please contact the installers!
There are several reasons for the incorrect operation of the 4th generation HBO and, accordingly, increased gas consumption. Among the most common causes and malfunctions, we name the following:
- high pressure in the gearbox – you should check the settings for the outgoing pressure of the computer;
- freezing of the gearbox and its insufficient warming up – usually the temperature and pressure sensors installed on the gearbox are triggered, the problem is eliminated by a signal to the computer;
- nozzles work with some delay, more gas is supplied to the cylinders – high-speed nozzles such as Hana or AEB can be installed;
- nozzle jets have a larger diameter that does not correspond to the size of the nozzles – there will be no excessive fuel consumption if you take ready-made calibrated nozzles or replace them with the right ones;
- the air filter is clogged, the air supply is reduced, the gas does not completely burn out – replace the filter with a new one;
- the compression level in the engine is reduced;
- lambda probe malfunction.
Any of these reasons or their combination can lead to excessive consumption of gas, so it is better to go to the service station and get qualified advice and help from the service master.
Increase in fuel consumption in HBO in winter
There are reasons to assert that during the cold season, gas consumption in a car increases due to the fact that the driver turns on the stove in the passenger compartment. Car owners do not get tired of arguing about this. Many are inclined to believe that the work of the stove in winter balances the air conditioner on in summer, so there can be no fundamental difference in consumption.
As for the winter and the reasons for excessive fuel consumption, among them the following are the most frequent:
- driving in low gears due to inappropriate road conditions;
- insufficient heating of the oil leads to the loss of valuable volumes of gas;
- non-observance of the optimal temperature regime of the engine;
- gas escapes in traffic jams – start-stop mode leads to engine cooling;
- many reduce tire pressure to improve snow flotation;
- low inlet air temperature.
Car owners who have converted their car to gas know that there are gas mixtures for winter and summer. What is the difference?
The difference lies in the difference in temperature and pressure at which the gas becomes liquid.
Butane
Butane is practically not used in winter. It liquefies at 3 degrees so it won’t evaporate. Butane is practical and safer in summer: its pressure at room temperature is only 2 atm, so when it is heated to 50 degrees, the pressure will rise to 5 atm. It is not critical and not dangerous.
Propane
Propane is much more expensive than Butane, but the optimal pressure in the gas supply system depends on it. In winter, when there is more Propane:
- the amount of condensate decreases;
- creates a constant pressure;
- increases the reliability of the gas system.
But in summer, at room temperature, the pressure above it reaches 9 atm, which, when heated to 50 degrees, increases this value to critical 17 atm.
Ways to reduce fuel consumption in a car with LPG
Technology does not stand still. And for car owners of cars with LPG, they found some practical advice on how to reduce gas consumption. Here’s what the experts advise.
- Install the ignition advance variator. Gas has a higher octane rating than gasoline, so it (gas) burns a little longer. That is, the gas must be ignited earlier so that by the time of the exhaust stroke it has time to completely burn out. What does a variator do? He just ignites the mixture earlier, the gas is completely burned by the right time. This helps keep the valves from overheating and lowers the temperature at the exhaust manifold.
- Install the vacuum gas dispenser. It regulates the intensity of the fuel supply. If it is configured correctly, then the use of gas fuel is optimized and HBO pays off much faster. There are vacuum and electronic dispensers. Vacuum ones are suitable for installation on any LPG kits, electronic ones are recommended for installation on modern injection cars with an on-board computer. They increase the efficiency of the gas system as a whole.
- Install LPG that matches the type and power of your car. Then you can save money and avoid problems with the incorrect operation of the gas system. 10 Ways to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
1. Consider cutting out some or all of meat
It sounds incredible, but almost 25% of all greenhouse gas emissions come from agriculture, and a large part of this comes from livestock. Cows produce a huge amount of methane, and, for example, the production of 150 grams of beef at all stages releases as much greenhouse gases into the atmosphere as the production of 30 servings of spaghetti or 40 kg of apples.
2. Eat more seasonal fruits and vegetables
