Oils good for your skin: Which Essential Oils Are Good For Your Skin? – JUARA Skincare

Which Essential Oils Are Good For Your Skin? – JUARA Skincare

A lot of folks love essential oils.

Some people put them in a diffuser for aromatherapy, while others incorporate essential oils in their beauty routine, such as with an invigorating enzyme body scrub containing peppermint oil or a product with rosemary oil to stimulate hair growth.

Essential oils are sourced from parts of plants such as seeds, roots, and rinds.

Makers of essential oils use various methods to concentrate the plant extracts into oils. Then, if they are to be used topically, these super-potent oils must be diluted in a carrier oil like argan oil, jojoba oil, or sweet almond oil.

For many people, topically applying a diluted essential oil can be helpful in addressing different skin concerns. Essential oils can have anti-aging properties and provide balance for acne-prone skin. Some essential oils can affect what’s occurring beneath the skin’s surface.

As a natural antioxidant, lemongrass oil can fight against the free radicals that wreak havoc on skin. It also has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which may fend off minor skin irritations. And rosemary oil, as mentioned above, has been used for promoting hair growth because rosemary essential oil may increase blood flow to the scalp.

It’s important to know that some fragrant plant oils may cause skin reactions. Citrus oils, including lemon, tangerine, and grapefruit, can pose a problem for all skin types. However, if these citrus essential oils are diluted sufficiently, they can be completely safe for most folks. Mint oils and camphor oil are also up there on the list of potential irritants.

Those with especially sensitive skin should do a patch test first before applying products with essential oils. A certain essential oil may cause an allergic reaction, while other essential oils might not.

Trying a small diluted amount prior to applying it all over is a clever course of action if you want to avoid allergic reactions.

So how to find an essential oil blend or a product with essential oils that will help you get glowing skin?

Below, we’ve listed a number of our favorite skincare products that contain the best essential oils and other natural oils that beautify your face and body.

1. Frangipani (Plumeria)

Frangipani (or Plumeria) is known for its ability to moisturize, purify and soothe dry skin.

As an antioxidant, it is often used in anti-aging serums and to help with skin toning. It’s a rich source of lignin, which binds cells together, providing structure and keeping skin supple and firm.

Frangipani is also famous for its fragrance. The tropical scent has rejuvenating qualities for both mind and body. It’s easy to see why one might want to incorporate it in their skincare routine.

Luckily, we’re about to reveal a couple quality contenders from JUARA’s line of luxe skincare where you can find frangipani in the list of ingredients.

Both Candlenut Glow Body Oil and Kartini Body Oil feature frangipani (plumeria).

The Candlenut Glow Body Oil boasts a mix of botanical oils that nourish and nurture the skin, returning it to a youthful supple state. The antioxidant action from the plumeria, passion fruit, candlenut, and turmeric take this oil to the next level and also imbue it with its intoxicating aroma.

Candlenut Glow Body Oil boasts an ideal balance of omega 3 & 6 fatty acids, which reduces inflammation and strengthens the skin barrier. This best-selling elixir will help you and your skin experience next-level luxury.

Even if you have oily skin, JUARA body oils will work for you. Oils like candlenut oil, rice bran oil, and rosehip oil that are high in Linoleic Acid help clear out pores, so that the effect is not only moisturizing but clarifying.

JUARA Kartini Body Oil is another indulgent body oil that brings the best botanicals to saturate the skin with all their natural goodness. This oil replenishes moisture, firms skin, and brings back a more beautiful, youthful you.

This oil was named after Princess Kartini, a beloved Indonesian leader, and when you smooth it on your body, you will certainly feel like you are getting the royal treatment and radiant skin care you’ve been needing.

2. Frankincense Essential Oil

You’ve no doubt heard of frankincense. It’s up there with myrrh and gold if that gives you any idea of how highly regarded it has always been. It is even said Cleopatra used frankincense in her beauty regimen.

Here we are centuries later, still looking for the fountain of youth, returning to one of the most time-honored essential oils. And like many essential oils, it has made its way into a wonderful product.

Frankincense Revitalizing Face & Eye Cream by Inna Organic relies on the rejuvenating properties of Frankincense, as well as jojoba and beeswax for maximum moisture. This cream also contains ribose, a natural sugar that transforms tired-looking skin into a more youthful and vibrant visage.

This face cream is certified-organic, and especially gentle. Still, it’s powerful enough to pull off some serious moisturizing and tightening.

3. Five Flavor Berry (Schizandra chinensis)

Schizandra (sometimes spelled schisandra) chinensis is a fruit-bearing vine. The fruit has been described as having five tastes (sweet, salty, bitter, pungent, and sour), which explains why it is often called the five flavor fruit or berry.

Five flavor berry is packed with powerful antioxidants. As we’ve already mentioned above, antioxidants help protect cells from photodamage and other oxidative stress.

It’s not surprising that schizandra essential oil or fruit extract fights against many elements that lead to premature aging. Interestingly, it has also been used to alleviate stress and anxiety, as well as provide some relief from PMS.

However, since we’re on the subject of skincare, we’ll focus on how it keeps skin healthy and youthful.

One skin care product that harnesses the anti-aging benefits of the five flavor fruit is Radiance Vitality Oil by JUARA.

The name of this oil gives an accurate indication of what it will deliver to dull or dry skin. The mixture of nourishing botanicals includes candlenut, macadamia, avocado, and squalane oil, all of which bring balance and hydration. There’s also coconut oil to calm and soothe skin.

Just like five flavor berry defends skin against free radicals, so does turmeric root extract (with a little help from vitamin C). Turmeric can help even skin tone and diminish dark spots, making it the perfect ingredient for a turmeric eye cream. It also has anti-bacterial properties that lessen the likelihood of blemishes.

Not only does the Radiance Vitality Oil treat the typical signs of skin aging, but it also brings about a luminous-looking glow.

And here’s a bonus beauty tip: add a few drops of JUARA Radiance Vitality oil with your moisturizer to make it extra nourishing. You can also add a little to massage oil. Your newly radiant and smooth skin will thank you.

4. Helichrysum essential oil

This essential oil is known for its skin renewal and wound healing capabilities. These characteristics may be due to helichrysum’s antibacterial properties and anti-inflammatory properties that help skin fight infection and swelling.

Though skin inflammation is a natural defense mechanism, it can also cause or exacerbate other skin diseases. Using essential oils to address these issues has helped many people.

L’erbolario Moisturizing Face Cream is a daily face cream that will make your skin glow and look more youthful. Made in Italy from helichrysum, aloe and olive leaves, it hydrates and helps skin to heal itself.

Even though it’s rich and moisturizing, it’s surprisingly light. It also absorbs quickly, which is ideal when it comes to using it as an under makeup primer. If you are new to having essential oils in your skincare routine, this might be a nice introduction.

L’erbolario Moisturizing Face Cream is a definite do for dry skin. And, just like Juara, this company cares for animals and doesn’t do animal testing.

5. Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Before we dive into the bevy of benefits that ylang ylang oil brings, it’s important to note that it can cause problems for your furry friends, so please keep it away from pets. That concludes our PSA. Now onto the good stuff.

This is one of the most effective essential oils for addressing hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. It lightens acne scars and diminishes dark spots.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil not only brings about balance for skin pigmentation – it’s also been known to create balance mentally. Studies have shown it may improve mood and reduce anxiety when applied or inhaled, so here’s to your overall health and wellness!

If you want to try this essential oil in a quality skincare product, consider Neroli № 18 Oil Butter by Carter + Jane.

It’s essentially an essential oils round-up. In addition to soothing soy butter and shea butter, it has Moroccan neroli essential oil, ylang ylang essential oil, bergamot essential oil,  frankincense essential oil, and sweet orange essential oil (as opposed to bitter orange essential oil which is often used to treat fungal infections).

Made in-house using a proprietary heatless manufacturing process, this oil butter brings both instant and long-lasting relief to dull, dry skin. The vitamin-rich, water-free balm barely touches the skin before it begins to melt in and work its magic.

Consisting of only organic and natural oils, this Carter + Jane creation is super soothing and smoothing. The lovely aroma and luxurious feel make this skin-protecting product a high-quality contender.

6. Lavender essential oil

Lavender essential oil is one of the most frequently referenced and enjoyed essential oils. It has been used to treat everything from eczema and psoriasis to acne and wrinkles.

So what is it about lavender that everyone loves?

Lavender oil kills bacteria, which can help prevent and decrease breakouts. By unclogging pores and reducing inflammation, it can be a lifesaver for those suffering from acne.

Oxidative stress from the sun and other environmental aggressors can cause damage to our skin. This includes common signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, and more. Lavender oil contains antioxidants that help you fight off this free radical damage.

As is the case with all essential oils, just make sure you dilute it in a carrier oil before applying it directly to your skin. Or, you can opt for a formula that professionals have already figured out.

Hydra Drench Cream by 100% Pure is a lightweight moisturizer that hydrates skin with Hyaluronic Acid, nopal cactus, and glycerin.

This cream contains soothing rose water and omega fatty acid-filled gel-water from chia seeds, which nourishes and improves skin elasticity. A blend of botanicals brings even more moisture and essential fatty acids

And considering there’s a little bit of lavender in there as well, you can imagine how the anti-inflammatory properties heighten the effectiveness of this formula.

7. Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is both anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial, which makes it one of the more effective essential oils for fighting acne. Since it can decrease skin surface bacteria, tea tree oil is likely to prevent breakouts before they begin. And because it is an anti-inflammatory, it may help reduce the irritation and swelling often associated with acne.

Tea tree oil can sometimes alleviate itching as well. That’s good news for those with sensitive skin who experience that common annoyance.

If you are someone who deals with any of the ailments mentioned above, you may want to consider skincare products that contain tea tree essential oil.

Osea Ocean Cleansing Mudd is one that we’d recommend. This cleanser clarifies and purifies without stripping the oils that help skin function.

The seaweed-infused formula includes tea tree and peppermint oil that clean dirt and other impurities from pores. Peppermint oil is known for its refreshing scent, and has even been used to help sore muscles. The Fucus Vesiculosus algae acts to minimize excess oil and bring balance.

All together, these ingredients give the skin an invigorating, tingly treat.

If you regularly experience breakouts or have especially oily skin, you can use this Ocean Cleansing Mudd once or twice a day. If you have normal skin, it works wonderfully as an occasional exfoliating cleanser.

Well, now that we’ve shared some of our favorite essential oils and skincare products, here’s Laura from Our Oily House sharing her thoughts on what a few drops of some essential oils can do for the face:

We can’t get enough of essential oils. The calming scent of lavender can instantly make us feel relaxed while a sniff of peppermint can perk us up.

While we all know how amazing essential oils can smell, you may not realize the benefits they can have for your skin. From soothing inflammation and fighting off acne to reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, essential oils can do wonders for your skin.

Let’s explore the benefits of essential oils for skin and how you can incorporate them into your self-care routine.

Best Essential Oils For Your Skin Type

There are so many essential oils for skin out there, and they all offer distinct benefits. If you’re just starting your journey with essential oils, choosing products based on your skin type is a great place to start.

Dry Skin

Essential oils for dry skin include lavender, rose, sandalwood, and carrot seed oil. These oils all have anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe your skin while keeping it hydrated and balancing moisture levels. Use a few drops of these essential oils on dry skin (making sure they’re properly diluted, which we’ll talk about in more detail), or incorporate them into your moisturizer.

Plus, options like lavender essential oil can help you relax since the scent has been shown to help regulate your body’s parasympathetic nervous system, according to Healthline.

Oily Skin

Now, you might think that you shouldn’t use essential oils if you have greasy skin. However, this isn’t always the case. According to Verywell Health, oily skin is often a result of overactive sebaceous glands that produce too much of a waxy, oily substance called sebum.

The right essential oils for your skin can actually help control excess sebum and help your skin find balance again. Tea tree oils are great for leaving your skin feeling fresh and clean since it has antibacterial and astringent properties. Other essential oils for oily skin include geranium, neroli, and rosemary.

Acne Prone Skin

Essential oils can also be a game changer when it comes to achieving a clear complexion. When fighting breakouts, you want to cleanse your skin without stripping away its natural oils. Lemon and lemongrass are two hero oils that are great for keeping acne away and improving your skin tone.

A few lemongrass and lemon essential oil benefits for skin include:

  • Fighting inflammation
  • Having natural astringent properties
  • Acting as an antimicrobial
  • Removing dead skin cells gently

Itchy Skin

Itchy skin can often be caused by dry skin. In this case, you want to find essential oils for itching that both soothe and moisturize your skin.

Some popular essential oils for itchy skin include eucalyptus, lavender, cinnamon, and peppermint essential oils. These essential oils work double duty to provide instant relief while also addressing the root of the problem.

Essential Oils or Rashes and Wrinkles

Along with helping your skin achieve balance, essential oils can also be used to treat rashes and fight off signs of aging. For instance, patchouli oil can help reduce both pain and inflammation when treating rashes.

MedicalNewsToday explains that some essential oils can also be used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some of the best essential oils for wrinkles have already made our list, including:

  • Lemon
  • Rosemary
  • Sandalwood
  • Frankincense
  • Carrot seed
  • Clary sage

Similarly, some oils can help reduce dark spots and help you achieve an even skin tone. These include:

  • Geranium
  • Pomegranate
  • Tangerine
  • Carrot seed

How Use Incorporate Essential Oils For Self Care

Ready to incorporate essential oils for skincare into your self-care routine? Here are some ideas to get you started.

How to Mix Essential Oils for Skin

Essential oils are often highly concentrated and potent, which could cause skin irritation. Luckily, diluting your essential oils with a carrier oil (like grape seed or coconut oil) is easy. Healthline offers a handy dilution guide to help you mix essential oils for your skin at home. They also emphasize the importance of conducting a patch test before using any new essential or carrier oil to ensure it doesn’t irritate your skin.

From there, you can add these essential oils to your face and hair! If you don’t want to use them on your face, you can also apply them on other areas like your wrists or behind your ear for aromatherapy benefits.

Diffusing Essential Oils

Speaking of aromatherapy, you can also benefit from diffusing your essential oils. An aromatic diffuser can make your room smell heavenly and set the mood for a self-care night. While this method doesn’t offer benefits for your skin, breathing in the aromatics can help you feel calm, focused, or sleepy depending on the essential oil you choose.

Aromatherapy Skincare

If you want the benefits of essential oils for your skin without having to concoct your own oils and want to feel like you’re at the spa, you can’t go wrong with infused skincare products. Face masks, eye gels, and more made with essential oils are great for delivering targeted treatment to your skin while also smelling great and making you feel relaxed.

Plus, these infused products are a breeze to use and safe for your skin. No diluting or mixing is necessary to experience the benefits of essential oils for your skin with these products:

Happy Place: Made with an uplifting aroma of rose, these tea-infused eye gels deliver so much more than antioxidants. The Rose Oil aromatherapy in these tea-infused eye gels will brighten your under eyes and boost your mood in ten minutes flat.

Chill Mode: Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and natural Tea Leaves are the hero ingredients in these chill eye gels that will lull stressed skin into a state of total relaxation. The Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil works double duty to reduce inflammation and heal broken or damaged skin

Or, treat your entire face to some extra relaxation with a Calming Hydrogel Face Mask. You’ll be basking in blissful relaxation while your skin soaks up an extra dose of hydration.

Perk Up: When you need an energy boost these green tea-infused eye gels can do the trick. Green tea works to de-puff your skin while antioxidant-rich Pine Leaf Extract works wonders to brighten your skin. The extra addition of Bergamot offers a relaxing scent to calm your nerves during your self-care sesh.

YON-KA.RU » Why oils are good for any skin type?

Adding oil to your skin care routine may seem counterproductive, but oil can actually remove makeup, dirt, sweat, and excess sebum—natural oils that keep skin from drying out. No matter what type of skin you have (dry, oily, or normal), oils restore and maintain skin’s hydration, making them a great option for any skin type. To enhance the effectiveness of an oil-based product, look for formulas rich in essential oils that have specific properties that are right for your skin.

We have described several reasons why the oil is beneficial and how it can help you take care of your skin.

Cleansing

For many, cleansing the skin of excess sebum has always been the goal of using foaming products that can cause redness, irritation and breakouts. These products can deplete the skin by stripping it of its natural oil, causing it to produce more sebum to compensate for moisture loss. When you wash your face with Lait Nettoyant Cleansing Milk, it thoroughly removes impurities without drying your skin. Milk is suitable for all skin types and preserves its hydro-lipid layer and makes the skin clean, silky and well-groomed.

Moisturizing

In addition to using the wrong cleansers, there are many lifestyle and environmental factors that can deplete the skin and dehydrate it. For example, insufficient water intake, ingestion of certain medications, severe weather conditions, and so on. Using a moisturizer rich in vegetable oils can replenish the skin with essential fatty acids that create a lipid barrier to repair and protect. Since the skin retains moisture better in this way, the body is less likely to need to produce large amounts of sebum, and therefore the skin becomes healthier, more balanced and less prone to oily sheen.

For a moisturizing cream that is great for oily skin types, we recommend Creme 28. It effectively protects and hydrates your skin with the essential oils it contains. A real helper for dehydrated skin – dry or oily – this multivitamin cream softens roughness and wrinkles caused by dehydration of the epidermis, makes the skin supple, velvety, brings a feeling of comfort.

Healing

In addition to their refreshing aromas, essential oils have various therapeutic properties and are therefore excellent in combination with vegetable oils. For those with oily skin, rosemary, geranium and thyme essential oils help balance sebum production. In addition, rosemary oil is used to treat acne, scarring and lightening, while thyme oil kills bacteria, helping the skin to actively fight acne.

Cream for oily skin Creme PG has antiseptic and sebum-regulating properties, containing essential oils of rosemary, thyme, cypress and other substances. It perfectly mattifies and heals the skin, regulating the production of sebum and narrowing enlarged pores.

The content of essential oils and other natural ingredients is a distinctive feature of cosmetics Yon-ka Paris . Designed for every skin type and every problem, you can always find on our website what is right for you, and our online specialists are always ready to help you with this.

Winter. Face cream or oil? :: Gifts from Morocco

Why does the skin dry out in winter?

It’s simple. Our sebaceous glands secrete sebum, which plays an important role in the structure of the skin and creates a protective hydro-lipid film (against moisture loss). It is so created by Nature that in winter this film thickens to protect blood vessels from the aggressiveness of cold and bacteria.

But frost, wind, temperature fluctuations, heaters reduce the activity of these sebaceous glands. From this, the skin becomes rough, dry and flaky, looks dull. The lips are the same. Due to the fact that the lips are practically devoid of sebaceous glands, and the protective layer is very thin, cracks appear in the cold season. It is especially dangerous to lick your lips during such a period. Therefore, it is very important to help the skin retain its protective film to keep the skin hydrated. Hydration is the hydration of the inner layers of the skin.

How to help the skin?

In winter you need to drink a lot of water . Yes, the body needs water in winter no less than in summer.

Skin cleansing. An important point. In winter, it is better to switch to cleansers without foam (without sulfates). The fact is that foaming cleansers have an alkaline pH, while our skin’s pH is acidic. The alkalinity of these products destroys the same protective barrier. Soap-free, foam-free, cleansers are pH neutral, so they don’t disturb your skin’s acidic pH.

There is a psychological barrier here when you think that you can’t remove dirt without foam. Be smart! Foam doesn’t help with cleansing. Choose a natural soap or sulfate-free cleanser, such as black cumin.

Exfoliate your skin no less than in summer. Perhaps even more, since it is more flaky. Only skin peeling should not be abrasive (mechanical), but light (gommage), which will gently exfoliate the upper dead skin cells. Powdered ghassoul clay is perfect for this. Take a pinch of clay, add a drop of water and exfoliate the skin for a minute. Ghassoul clay can also be used for washing. For aging skin, a scrub with cactus oil is suitable.

Skin toning is a desirable moment. But in winter you can not use tonics containing alcohol. Replace them with the hydrosols that nature gave the world this summer. For example, damask rose petal hydrosol, produced in Morocco in May, helps the skin stay healthy and young throughout the year.

And of course, moisturizing and nourishing the skin. It would seem logical to use moisturizer, but in the end you understand that something is wrong with your favorite cream.

Why is your cream not working?

The most important thing during this period is to create additional lubrication for your skin. How? Cream or oil? Let’s see. You used the cream in the spring, summer and early fall and everything was fine, but closer to winter your skin began to dry out. And heating partings in houses exacerbate this situation. In fact, your cream does not protect the skin from the cold in winter. Of course, this does not apply to all creams. It all depends on the composition. Most creams are made up of water. It is the main ingredient in a moisturizer. This cream will work great in the warm season or in the cold, but only if after applying the cream you do not go out into the cold air.

Water, which is the basis of the cream – cools down, and when you go outside – and the cold burns the skin. Hence the feeling of skin tightness and redness. Therefore, using a moisturizer before going out is dangerous.

Therefore, you can use an oil-based cream. Or use the cream long before going outside.

People from the northern countries, where cold and frost are present most of the year, protect the skin by applying vegetable oil. This is correct, because vegetable oils are a barrier and insulate the skin from the cold. It does not cause inflammation and reduces redness associated with cooling. More oxygenated and better nourished skin will look healthier and more radiant!

Which oils can be used in winter.

These are cosmetic vegetable oils. Choose oils with a fatty acid chain containing more than 18 carbon atoms. Why is it so important?

Long chain carbon oils remain in the upper layers of the skin and help maintain skin hydration (moisture). These oils also have the advantage that they resist oxidation better and penetrate the skin well without leaving a greasy film. Oils rich in Omega 6 have protective and anti-inflammatory properties.

Consider a few recommended oils.

Argan oil – absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. Comedogenicity – 0, can be used at any time of the day. Read more about the benefits of argan oil in our article.

Avocado oil – absorbs quickly, can be mixed with argan oil. Comedogenicity – 2, it is better to use in the morning or in the afternoon. Not recommended at night.

Shea Butter (Shea) is a hard butter that must be warmed in the hands before application. Great for soothing dry cracked skin. Good for lips, elbows and heels. Comedogenicity – 0. Can be used at any time of the day, including at night.

Jojoba oil. The composition of the oil is similar to the composition of the fat of our skin, so the oil is excellent for both dry and oily skin. Comedogenicity – 2. Can be used both in the morning and at night.

Wheat germ oil is generally recommended for very dry skin that flakes. Ideal for protecting and repairing damaged skin.

Rosehip oil is one of the most regenerating vegetable oils. It accelerates cell renewal and prevents skin aging. Ideal for protecting mature skin and acne-prone skin with multiple scars. And when combined with avocado oil, it works great in skin care around the eyes, as in this natural serum from Dara Morocco.

Castor oil (clear) can instantly repair skin or hair. The only difficulty is that the oil is very difficult to apply on its own because of its density and it is recommended to dilute it with light oil.

All oils are very beneficial for your skin! They can be used on the face and all parts of the body. And they are suitable for all skin types and all ages.

Oils can be used alone or mixed. It is recommended to mix oils that have a denser structure (such as castor oil or wheat germ oil) with light base oils, such as argan oil, which can be purchased from our Dara Morocco store.

In general, it is very useful to know the synergy of oils. How do they reinforce each other and what result can be obtained. But this is a separate issue. And we are talking in this article.

CONCLUSION

In winter, when it’s cold, you can use your favorite products, but:
  • Cream (if it is created on water, like most creams) you can not use directly before going out on the street, it is better to wait an hour , one and a half.
  • Can be oiled to use. Which – we have listed above.
  • It is better to exclude products with alcohol and scrubs that are very damaging to the skin (that is, those that have large abrasive particles.
  • It is better to exclude washbasins with sulfates and other aggressive ingredients in the composition.

Love your skin and use natural products whenever possible.
