[English:]
I remember the melody of the song
That we sang together as we sat across each otherIn my softly closed eyes
I’m placing images of you
Alone in this place where we walked together
I’m calling out your nameEven during cold winters, even during dark nights
Because we were together, I was able to smile
In the spring that you gave to me
We prayed for eternityLike a small photo that comes into my eyes
You still remainEven if this dream-like fate disappears
You’re engraved deep in my heart
Even if I’m alone on this road
I can still see youYour face, your breath
All the moments you blossomed before me
Like the small photo that I can’t erase
It’s forever in my heart, foreverDo you know? Because of you
I live today
Don’t be lonely, don’t be hurt again
Live in my heart like thisI remember the melody of the song
That we sang together as we sat across each other

”If you liked the picture, then I’ll give it to you!”
I knew an original artist who painted red horses best of all on this earth. By profession, he was a stove-maker and lived on the edge of the village of Arefino, Velsky district
For Yuri Shchetinin, “horse” and “fire” were related words. Apparently, the brightness, color and liveliness of the flame, which he achieved in his work, was transferred to the paintings, to the images of his swift, and even calm red horses. Such a virtuoso drawing of these graceful animals that were in his works could be learned by the painter Petrov-Vodkin himself, the author of the famous painting Bathing the Red Horse. They could easily sit and exchange experiences, but the trouble is that they missed each other in years, because their lives were separated by the turbulent 20th century.
“Ryzhik” in the house
We met by chance – at the celebration of St. Cyril’s Day in one of the small towns of our by no means small region. On the forged fence of the former Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral, fifty of his oil studies were hung: horses, horses, horses, plus a few rickety temples and a couple of scenes with birch groves by the river. Music blared, and a crowd scurried around between the tents with shish kebabs and plov. The grown-ups dragged small children behind them with cocoons of cotton candy. Parents should slow down and look at the pictures, admire and show the child the beauty of painting. But the opposite is true – for the whole holiday there was not a soul who was touched by the original art of Yuri Shchetinin.
By noon, the artist, annoyed, began to remove the exposition, put the painting in large, so-called “shuttle bags”. Then I could not stand it and came up, deciding to talk with the master, because once I myself held brushes in my hands. I wanted to buy one of his works with the name “Ginger”. Seeing a kindred spirit, the village painter struck me: “If you liked the picture, then I give it to you! It’s not my job, it’s a hobby. I am a baker by profession!”
“Ryzhik” is a small orange-red foal. He brought the picture home, and it became the brightest and warmest, the kindest and most attractive spot of a modest dwelling. He hung it over the crib, and everything around him smiled, played, revived, as if the sun shone from within. So the picture “Ryzhik” became a likeness of the miraculous icon of our house.
Washed cobblestones in a basin
Yuri Shchetinin approached his work as a stove-maker thoroughly. Knowing that the stove is the heart of the hut, the most important part of any village house, at first he kind of “shamanized”, spiritually communicated with his future, not yet done work. He concentrated, walked around the room back and forth in complete silence, and only then sat down at the table – he drew for the customer sketches of several stoves invented by him, which would only fit this hut. He made so-called “storyboards” – small drawings, as the director depicts scenes before shooting a movie. Furnace painted in different projections, as previously said, in “axonometry” – in a flat image of a three-dimensional object, now it’s called 3D. He imagined how this stove would look both from the door and from the red corner, from the main icon of the hut. As if framed by a towel and illuminated by a lamp, the reverend image of St. Nicholas suddenly speaks himself, appreciating his work. Probably, he was waiting for the moment when the Pleasant would say in his ear, give the highest score to his talent, imagination and work. We first look at one of these stoves made in our house, admire it as a work of art, and only then we remember its true purpose, the warmth it gives. And from all sides – the oven is flawless!
Once I asked him not to sort it out, but simply to “look” at my stove in the bathhouse, which heats rather poorly and smokes godlessly. I come in a couple of hours, but there is no oven at all, one empty place remains. Got upset. Imagine: a brick pipe, clamped by ceiling boards, hangs in the air, and the master has evaporated. I found a stove-maker in the yard: he was washing the smoky bath stones, which were supposed to give long heat inside the melted stove, in the basin, like his own little children. Solidity and reliability, the search for harmony and beauty in the results of their work, and most importantly, the honesty and kindness of the master touched me to the core.
It was then that I began to bring tubes of oil paints and primed canvases to his village, and for the work of the stove-maker I gave the wide belt of a weightlifter. As planned, it would be useful for working at an angle with the constant carrying of weight – bricks, stones and wet clay.
Houses from childhood
As Yuri Shchetinin said, “In Arkhangelsk, his painting was not favored.” And the village artist began to exhibit at the holidays of his village, in the regional center and even in Vologda. He showed the unattainable for many – a thick booklet of his works printed in color. Soon my friends began to come to him with requests to repair or install new stoves, and at the same time to draw the village houses of their elderly parents. And what is more pleasant for the elderly than to have such a rare gift – the house of their distant childhood, executed on canvas.
And the stove-maker’s house itself, which was located on the very edge of the village of Arefino, is like a work of art. The entire lining of the light-green color of the “lining” was completely “painted” with thousands of multi-colored plastic stoppers from bottled water attached to the surface. It turned out that Yuri Shchetinin, wherever he saw – on the ground, in yards, on river banks and forests, in the places of parking of unlucky tourists, picked up plastic discarded by people. Then, like the famous Mexican muralist Jose David Siqueiros, he painted a landscape of these plastic plugs throughout the entire outer area of his house: the edge of the forest, ducks taking off from a small pond and a pair of calmly swimming snow-white swans. This picture looked best from a distance, from the neighboring forest, and it was in this that there was a certain connection and message, a figurative communication between the artist and nature.
I was recently informed that the village stove-maker and artist had passed away. He lived unnoticed and silently left: either from a virus, or from a banal cold, complicated by pneumonia. His usual healing kit – oleoresin, pine needles, lingonberries and no other herb – did not help this time. On the same day, his elderly mother, who lived with her son in the same house with a plastic landscape, also died. The sudden departure of Yuri Shchetinin is an incurable pain, a gaping wound, a hole from my heart to the very center of the Earth. Nothing less!

FAQ
We have collected questions that may arise during or after placing an order. If you did not find the answer, write to us or call
About our paintings
The price depends on the size of the painting and other parameters of the order.
We sell paintings on a stretcher – a wooden frame on which the canvas is stretched. Such a picture does not have to be framed, it can be hung directly on the wall
We do not sell picture frames
To wrap the canvas on a stretcher and not lose part of the image, we use the mirrored part of the photo.
You can hang the painting on self-tapping screws. To do this, we add fasteners to our paintings, on which it will be convenient to hang a picture
Two types of material are available for order:
Synthetic is a dense material with a smooth, low grit surface.
Canvas is a material that is as close as possible in texture to the canvases of professional artists. The image will be with soft color reproduction and a matte surface.
This is a cheaper version of the blade. It is more durable and resistant to moisture, but its surface does not have a pronounced relief, like Canvas
For Premium printing, we use more expensive inks that have deeper shades and fade resistance.
Any painting will lose its brightness in a few years. To make this happen as late as possible, we do not recommend hanging the painting in direct sunlight or in a damp room.
Lacquering adds an extra layer of protection to the painting. The painting will be more resistant to minor damage, and a varnished painting can be wiped with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
The picture can be gently wiped with a dry soft cloth or sponge, it is not recommended to use wet products.
The use of a damp sponge is only permitted if the painting has been varnished.
The surface of our paintings is matte.
Lacquer gives a light satin finish.
Use ours if you can’t decide on the size.
We wrap each painting with stretch film and pack it in a shipping carton.
You can also order a gift box for the painting.
All materials and paints that we use are completely safe for the health of people and pets.
Subframe thickness 2 cm. We send the tracking number to the e-mail that you specified in the order. Check your spam folder if you don’t see our messages or email us at [email protected] .
