What Does Heartburn Feel Like?

The most common symptom of heartburn is often described as an uncomfortable or painful “burning” sensation in the chest.1 You may also experience pressure or pain just behind the breastbone. The pain may worsen when lying down or bending over, and it can last minutes or continue for a few hours.

Other common symptoms include the feeling that food is “sticking” in your chest or throat, a sour or acid taste in the back of your throat, discomfort that gets worse after eating, as well as burping and/or bloating.2

There are more uncommon heartburn symptoms you may not know: persistent hiccups, pain that radiates to your neck and shoulders, and finding it difficult or painful to swallow.2 Although rare, cold sweat, shortness of breath, light-headedness or dizziness may accompany heartburn. If these symptoms occur, you should discuss them with your doctor right away to determine the heartburn treatment options available to you, and to ensure you do not have a more serious condition.

Consult a healthcare professional if you have difficulty swallowing, your heartburn often occurs more than once a week, your symptoms become more severe over time and/or continue even with the use of heartburn medications.3 Talk to your doctor if you are using over-the-counter heartburn medications longer than the label recommends, you still get heartburn even after taking prescription or non-prescription medications, or your symptoms are interfering with your lifestyle or daily activities.

Because heartburn symptoms are felt in a similar area, some people can confuse the pain of heartburn with a heart attack. If you’re unsure whether you’re suffering from heartburn or having a heart attack, seek medical attention right away.

If you’ve got pain in your tummy or chest and you’re feeling bloated, you might well have indigestion. It’s also known as dyspepsia, and many people get it from time to time.

But if you’re feeling unwell, you probably want to know how long indigestion lasts for, and if you should be worried.

Usually, indigestion comes and goes, and you can treat it yourself. If you keep getting indigestion or are in a lot of pain, however, it might be a sign of something more serious.

Read on to learn more about the symptoms and causes of indigestion, and when you should see a doctor.

What are the symptoms of indigestion?

Feeling discomfort in your tummy after eating or drinking is the main symptom of indigestion, but other common symptoms include:

  • feeling full or bloated
  • a burning feeling in your chest (heartburn)
  • an acidic taste in your mouth
  • feeling sick (nausea)
  • belching and farting

These symptoms can happen when acid from your stomach irritates the lining of your digestive system, causing soreness and swelling. Usually, you’ll notice them after you’ve eaten a large meal, but you can get them at any time.

How long does indigestion last?

As indigestion is a collection of symptoms rather than a condition in itself, how long it lasts can depend on what’s causing it.

Mild indigestion that occurs after eating usually only happens from time to time, and goes away on its own. For example, heartburn triggered by spicy food often only lasts for an hour or 2.

However, if your indigestion is caused by a medical condition, the condition may need to be treated before you start to feel better.

If you’re getting indigestion symptoms a lot or they come on after exercising, cause a lot of pain or are different from what you’ve had before or are persistent, it’s worth talking to your doctor.

Why do I keep getting indigestion?

Some things can make you more likely to get indigestion, and could also make it last longer. These include:

  • certain medicines, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
  • being overweight
  • smoking
  • drinking alcohol
  • eating fatty foods
  • stress and anxiety
  • a bacterial infection

Although indigestion isn’t usually serious, if you keep getting it, it could be a sign of an underlying health condition, such as:

  • gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) – when the lining of your food pipe (oesophagus) becomes damaged by stomach acid
  • peptic ulcer – when a sore develops on the lining of your stomach or small intestine
  • stomach cancer – in rare cases, frequent indigestion can be a sign that cancer cells are breaking down your stomach’s protective lining

How can I treat indigestion?

The good news is that you can manage mild and occasional indigestion yourself. Making some simple lifestyle changes can often help, including:

  • cutting down on tea, coffee, fizzy drinks and alcohol
  • losing weight if you’re overweight
  • eating a healthy, balanced diet
  • using a pillow to raise your head slightly when you’re in bed
  • not eating after 4 hours before going to bed
  • avoiding rich, spicy food
  • avoiding medication which could make it worse, such as ibuprofen and aspirin
  • stopping smoking

You can also ask a pharmacist for advice – they may be able to recommend medication to treat heartburn.

When should I see a doctor?

You should speak to your doctor about your indigestion if you:

  • keep getting indigestion
  • are in a lot of pain
  • are 55 or older
  • have lost a lot of weight without meaning to
  • have difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
  • keep being sick (vomiting)
  • have iron deficiency anaemia
  • can feel a lump in your stomach
  • have blood in your vomit or blood in your poo

You should get urgent medical help if you have chest pain and any of the following, as you could be having a heart attack:

  • pain that makes your chest feel tight or heavy
  • chest pain that moves to your arms, neck, jaw or back
  • you feel sick, sweaty or breathless
  • pain that lasts more than 15 minutes

Key points

  • indigestion is often felt as pain or discomfort in your tummy or chest, and most people get it at some point
  • how long it lasts depends on what’s causing it, but it often only lasts for a few hours
  • eating a large meal, alcohol, smoking, certain medicines and stress can make indigestion more likely
  • frequent indigestion can be a sign of an underlying health condition
  • see your doctor if you keep getting indigestion or have other symptoms

Heartburn or heart attack? | American Heart Association

What does heartburn have to do with your heart? Nothing, actually!

Despite its name, heartburn — or acid indigestion — is related to your esophagus. But because the esophagus and heart are located near each other, either one can cause chest pain which is why many people mistake heart burn for angina and vice versa.

So what is heartburn?

Heartburn is a common condition that’s caused by stomach acids rising up into your esophagus. This can cause chest pain that sometimes radiates to your neck, throat or jaw.

“Our stomach is made for acid and can handle it, but our esophagus is not,” said Mary Ann Bauman, M. D., author, practicing physician and medical director of women’s health at INTEGRIS Health Systems.

Not sure if what you’re feeling is a

heart attack or heartburn?

“I tell my patients that if you belch and the symptoms go away, it probably isn’t related to your heart but to your esophagus,” Bauman said. “But if you have shortness of breath or sweating, then it’s likely a heart-related issue.”

However, everyone is different, and not all symptoms are caused by one or the other, so:

When in doubt, check it out!

If you’re not sure if it’s heartburn or your heart, seek medical attention right away. It’s very easy to confuse the two issues so let a doctor rule out the most severe possibility. This is an especially important message for women.

“Women are more likely to call help for someone else but not themselves,” Bauman said. In fact, 81 percent of women said they would call 911 for someone else showing signs of a heart attack but only 65 percent would call for themselves, according to a special report in Circulation.

She added: “I always tell people if you’re concerned and not sure if it’s your heart, it’s better to err on the side of checking it out and having someone tell you it’s not a heart attack.”

How to avoid reflux.

There are some things you can do to keep the heartburn away.

  1. “Stay away from alcohol, cigarettes, aspirin/anti-inflammatories and citrus (which can relax the valve between the esophagus and the stomach and make it easier for acid to splash up),” Bauman advised.
  2. And if you experience heartburn at night, try giving gravity a hand. “Raise the head of your bed on blocks (about 6 inches) so gravity can help keep your stomach contents down in the stomach,” Bauman said.
  3. Another possible remedy can be not to eat close to bedtime or late at night. When your stomach is full of food or busy digesting food, try letting it finish that work before heading to bed.
  4. Some over-the-counter medications can also help.
  5. See your doctor to discuss your symptoms.

What is heartburn?

Heartburn is a feeling of burning pain or discomfort in the chest, usually after eating. It is also called reflux or indigestion.

When should I call an ambulance or go to the emergency department?

If you experience chest pain and have any doubt about whether it is heartburn or a heart attack, you should call triple zero (000) immediately and ask for an ambulance. You can use the healthdirect Symptom Checker to help you make this decision.

What causes heartburn?

Normally, a ring of muscle at the lower end of the oesophagus (the tube connecting the mouth to the stomach) relaxes to let food in and tightens to prevent stomach acid from escaping.

However, if the muscle relaxes when it shouldn’t, or is weak, stomach acid can rise up into the oesophagus where it can cause pain and irritation. Heartburn can also occur when the stomach is producing a lot of acid, such as when you are stressed.

Common triggers for heartburn

Some people experience heartburn regardless of what they eat. Others find they only get it after eating certain foods or meals. Common food triggers for heartburn include:

  • large meals
  • fatty or spicy foods
  • coffee and cola drinks
  • citrus foods
  • alcohol
  • chocolate
  • peppermints

Smoking cigarettes can also be a trigger for heartburn.

Other things that can increase the risk and the severity of heartburn include:

  • being overweight or obese
  • being pregnant
  • taking certain medications (check with your doctor)
  • exercising too soon after eating

What are the symptoms of heartburn?

Heartburn causes pain, discomfort or burning in the chest. It might feel like it is rising from the lower chest to the neck. The pain typically gets worse when you are lying down or bending over.

When should I see my doctor?

If over-the-counter pharmacy treatments do not work, or you rely on them often, see your doctor.

You should also see your doctor if you experience:

How is heartburn diagnosed?

In most cases, your doctor will be able to diagnose heartburn by asking questions about your symptoms and what triggers those symptoms.

If you have heartburn more than 2 times a week, it could be a symptom of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) or other gastrointestinal diseases. These are usually diagnosed by endoscopy, which uses a tube with a camera passed through the mouth into the stomach.

How is heartburn treated?

Most healthy people have heartburn from time to time. Heartburn that is mild and occasional can usually be managed with lifestyle changes, such as:

  • eating smaller, more frequent meals instead of large meals
  • avoiding any food you know triggers heartburn
  • avoiding lying down soon after a meal — wait for 3 hours
  • not eating too late at night
  • lifting the head of your bed so you are raised from the waist up
  • losing weight, if you are overweight
  • stopping smoking, if you smoke
  • avoiding tight clothing

You may also want to try over-the-counter medicines called antacids, which neutralise stomach acid. If you are pregnant, check with your doctor or pharmacist if these medications are safe for you to take.

A lot of people take heartburn medicines when they don’t need to. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners recommends that you discuss any medication you are taking for reflux or heartburn with your doctor or specialist to see if it is safe to reduce or stop it. For further information, visit the Choosing Wisely Australia website.

Your doctor will probably recommend the lifestyle changes and antacids. If your symptoms do not respond or you have GORD, you may need prescription medicines.

7 Acid Reflux Symptoms That Require Immediate Medical Attention

With as busy as people are today with work, school, family commitments and countless other duties, it is little wonder that many individuals lack the time or focus to eat a balanced diet. As they rely on fast food, processed frozen entrees or eating in a hurry to keep their stomachs full during the week, an increased number of people today are finding that they suffer from acid reflux more often.

Mild indigestion can typically be taken care of with a bicarbonate of soda or over-the-counter antacids. However, if your gastrointestinal esophageal reflux disease, or GERD, fails to respond to these simple measures, you should know when to see your doctor for better treatment of this condition. These GERD symptoms indicate that you should see medical attention promptly.

1) Chest Pain

Chest pain, especially if it is comes on sudden or is particularly sharp, almost always demands that you seek immediate medical help. While you may initially believe that you are having a heart attack, you more than likely are suffering from severe acid reflux. In fact, a recent study showed that 57 percent of chest pain patients actually suffered from GERD rather than a heart attack.

The study also showed that women were more likely to experience GERD-related chest pain than men. Indeed, women reported suffering worse acid reflux when they were lying down; men, on the other hand, reported having worse symptoms when they were in an upright position. Regardless of what position you are in, however, you should see your doctor right away if you experience severe chest pain.

2) Symptoms of Shock

Shock-like symptoms, including sudden weakness, dizziness, fainting or confusion demand that you go to the emergency room immediately. Barring other causes, your symptoms may stem from severe acid reflux. When you get prompt help, your doctor can begin treatment immediately and save you from passing out or suffering neurological damages from this condition.

3) Abdominal Cramping

When you have an upset stomach or moderate indigestion, it is normal to experience cramping in your abdomen. However, if your cramps persist, fail to respond to antacids, using the bathroom, or resting, or are accompanied by black or tarry stools, you should go to the ER or make an appointment with your doctor right away. Severe cramps may indicate that you have suffered bleeding or another type of damage in your stomach or intestines.

4) Difficulty Swallowing Food or Pain When Eating

Feeling like you are choking or unable to swallow food is an abnormal symptom that often accompanies severe acid reflux. If you cannot get your food to go down your esophagus or feel like you are choking when you eat, you would do well to see your physician promptly. This symptom may indicate that your esophagus has been damaged from stomach acid.

Likewise, if eating and swallowing food has become painful for you, you likewise are urged to contact your doctor. Your throat and mouth could be severely damaged from the constant reflux of acid. Your doctor can administer immediate treatment to relieve your pain.

5 Chronic Coughing

If you have a chronic cough, it may stem from something more than bronchitis, allergies or the common cold. It may actually be caused by GERD. When you suffer from a cough that will not be quieted by cough suppressants, antihistamines, or even a rescue inhaler, you should ask your doctor to test you for acid reflux. A proper diagnosis can help your doctor prescribe you the correct treatment for your GERD-related cough.

6) Shifting of Pain in Stomach or Abdomen

Mild acid reflux typically occurs in the same place each time you experience a flare-up of your symptoms. However, if the pain moves around your stomach or chest or it relocates to a new area entirely, you should go to the ER or your doctor immediately. This symptom could signal that the damage from this disease is rapidly expanding into a new location in your body or that you are developing ulcers.

7) Uncontrollable Weight Loss

GERD can rob your body of the nutrients it needs to maintain your weight. If you are losing weight and cannot stop the pace at which this loss is occurring, you need to visit with your physician quickly. If you delay treatment, you could suffer from nutritional deficiencies and a weakened immune system. Your doctor can give you the proper remedy to curb the acid reflux and help your body retain and regain the weight that you have lost.

An increased number of men and women today suffer from chronic acid reflux. This condition, known as GERD or gastrointestinal esophageal reflux disease can cause extensive damage in your body if you fail to have it treated promptly. While milder cases respond well to over-the-counter remedies like antacids or baking soda, severe acid reflux often accompanies serious and life-threatening symptoms that require your immediate attention. These seven symptoms of severe GERD signal your immediate need to go to an emergency room or visit with your physician promptly.

Heart Attack Or Indigestion | Franciscan Health

Dr. Soo Park, MD, a board-certified cardiologist with Franciscan Physician Network Indiana Heart Physicians in Indianapolis and Columbus, Indiana, answers your questions and shares expert insight on signs of a heart attack versus indigestion.

Q. My neighbor recently suffered a serious heart attack. When he described his symptoms, it sounded a lot like the indigestion that I often experience. Is there any way to tell the difference?

A. A heart attack occurs about every 40 seconds in the United States. It happens when the blood flow bringing oxygen to the heart is reduced or completely interrupted. This usually occurs because the coronary arteries that feed the heart become narrowed due to a buildup of cholesterol, fat and other substances, collectively known as plaque. A blood clot forms around plaque that breaks free from the artery. This clot can block the blood flow which starves the heart from essential oxygen and nutrients. When the heart is damaged or a part of the heart muscle dies, it is called a heart attack.

Unfortunately, there’s often no clear way of telling if a physical symptom is something minor or if it could be a heart attack.

Generally speaking however, chest pain that’s caused by indigestion feels more like a burning sensation in the chest. Also known as heartburn, the root cause of this discomfort is digestive acid that moves into the esophagus (the tube that carries food into your stomach.) Heartburn usually occurs after eating, may be accompanied by regurgitation (food rising up in the back of the throat) and can often be relieved with use of antacids.

A heart attack, on the other hand, is usually more of a dull pain, often described as a feeling that someone is sitting on your chest.

What Are Heart Attack Signs?

Typical heart attack symptoms include:

  • Pressure, tightness, pain or a squeezing/aching sensation in your chest or arms that may spread to your neck, jaw or back
  • Nausea or abdominal pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cold sweat
  • Fatigue
  • Lightheadedness or sudden dizziness

For both men and women, the most common symptom of a heart attack is chest discomfort.

Women usually experience some of the additional signs, such as jaw or back pain, shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should take steps to get checked out right away.

Can Other Things Cause Chest Pain?

Not all pain in the chest is a heart attack though. A common type of chest pain is angina. Angina is a repetitive pain that usually lasts just a few minutes. Angina also occurs when the heart doesn’t receive an adequate supply of oxygen, but it differs from a heart attack in that angina attacks don’t permanently impair the heart.

What Happens After A Heart Attack?

When a heart attack does occur, the part of the heart that has gone without a blood supply is injured. The extent of damage depends on the size of the area that was nourished by the blocked artery and the length of time between injury and treatment.

The heart muscle heals from a heart attack by forming scar tissue, usually over the course of several weeks. Even though a part of the heart may have been injured, the rest of the muscle keeps on working. However, the damaged heart may be weaker and unable to pump as efficiently as before. Proper treatment and a change in lifestyle after a heart attack can limit or prevent further harm.

Chest pain: It’s not always a matter of the heart – News

There are plenty of other potential suspects when it comes to chest pain.

Written by: UAB Medicine
Media contact: Adam Pope

Mild or severe discomfort in the middle or left side of the chest that feels like fullness, pressure or squeezing could be a potential sign of a cardiovascular event.Most people experience chest pain at some point, but how do you know if it is a heart attack or simply heartburn or anxiety?

Understanding the differences between cardiovascular events and other causes of chest pain can save you a trip to the emergency room. It is also important because the discomfort could be caused by other urgent conditions, as well as less serious issues that may point to a chronic medical problem.

When it comes to cardiovascular causes of chest pain, UAB Medicine cardiologist Gregory Chapman, M. D., says “the usual suspects” include coronary artery blockages, high blood pressure, and heart valve or rhythm disorders. But there are plenty of other potential suspects. Chapman included a chapter on chest pain diagnosis in his book “A Strong and Steady Pulse: Cardiac Stories,” which is scheduled for publication in 2021.

“We have to consider non-cardio causes as we rule out the usual suspects,” Chapman said. “Not only because we might diagnose a specific medical condition for treatment later, but also because there may very well be an emergency at hand. The story doesn’t end as soon as you tell patients they are not having a heart attack. If you have an ulcer that is bleeding and causing severe pressure in the abdomen, as I saw with a female patient I discuss in the book, then that has to be treated immediately.”

Take symptoms seriously

In the United States, nearly 6 percent of emergency room patients report chest pain. More than half of those cases involve non-cardiac chest pain, or NCCP, that is caused by heartburn, anxiety or other issues. A staggering 80 percent of patients who complain of chest pain during primary care visits are simply experiencing NCCP.

However, the National Institutes of Health estimates that as many as 25 percent of emergency room patients with chest pain have acute coronary syndrome (ACS), a condition that reduces blood flow to the heart. These numbers highlight the dilemma for both patients and health care professionals: chest pain must be taken seriously, even if it turns out not to be serious.

Below are some signs of a potentially real cardiovascular event that warrant immediate medical attention:

  • Mild or severe discomfort in the middle or left side of the chest that feels like fullness, pressure or squeezing; it lasts several minutes, ends, then returns
  • Difficulty breathing, whether during rest or after physical activity
  • Mild or severe chest pain that radiates into arms and neck or shoulders and into the jaws
  • Nausea and dizziness
  • Heavy sweating
  • Weakness in limbs, loss of coordination
  • All symptoms end and then return, continuing that cycle for several hours

The symptoms of a heart attack tend to increase in severity and duration as they fade and then return. The annoying pressure that may signal the onset of a heart attack can become stabbing pains. Radiating pain, nausea and shortness of breath might slowly grow to extreme levels.

Gregory Chapman, M.D.Mimicking a heart attack

When chest pain turns out not to be a heart attack, it is good news; but it also might indicate that you need to talk with a doctor about what is causing the discomfort. Among the many causes of chest pain that do not involve a heart condition, some are emergency situations, while others are chronic conditions that range from serious illness to easily managed ailments. Some of the most common non-cardiac conditions that can feel like a heart attack include:

  • Heartburn: One of the most frequent causes of chest pain is a type of indigestion that can feel as though your heart is on fire yet has nothing to do with the heart. Heartburn actually should be called “esophagus burn,” because it happens when stomach acid moves up into the tube that connects the throat to the stomach, causing a burning sensation, pressure and tightness in the chest near the heart. Your doctor can determine if you need treatment, such as medications for acid reflux or related conditions.
  • Panic attack: This is a feeling of being out of control, with sudden overwhelming anxiety and fear. Physical symptoms may include increased heart rate, trembling, shortness of breath, weakness or dizziness, chest pain, sweating, and nausea. It is a disabling psychiatric condition with serious consequences that can affect your quality of life and lead to depression and thoughts of suicide. Your doctor may refer you to a mental health specialist, such as a psychiatrist or psychologist, who may recommend lifestyle changes, medication and/or counseling.
  • Gallbladder disease, such as gallstones: Problems with this small organ can cause pressure or severe muscle spasms and pain in your upper right stomach area that may radiate into the chest.
  • Peptic ulcer: These are painful sores that develop when acid in the digestive tract eats away at the lining inside your stomach, esophagus or small intestine. The most common symptom is stomach pain, which can radiate to the middle of your chest.
  • Pulmonary conditions: Pneumonia, bronchitis, pleurisy and other lung infections can make breathing difficult and cause chest pain.
  • Boerhaave syndrome: This is a rupture in the esophagus that often is caused by heavy vomiting. Other causes include weightlifting, epileptic seizures, abdominal trauma and childbirth, all of which can increase pressure in the esophagus and cause a rupture.

If you have an existing cardiovascular condition or are at high risk for a heart attack, you should call 911 or visit an emergency room as soon as you begin feeling chest pain. It is better to be safe than sorry.

90,000 When everything looks the same: how to live with a rare disease | Study and work in Germany | DW

Awkward situations happen in Sandra’s life all the time. You don’t have to go far for an example. Let’s say a girl attended an intersectoral conference last week. During the break, a man approached her, greeted her with a smile, and called her by name. Everything indicated that they knew each other, but Sandra could not recognize him in any way. It turned out to be a former colleague who had moved to another company about a year ago.Do not recognize the employee with whom I sat in the same office for several years ?! Sandra didn’t know where to hide from shame.

When everyone looks the same

Friends in general often take offense at a girl for the fact that, for example, she can walk by without saying hello, they perceive it as arrogance and arrogance. In fact, the reason is different: she suffers from prosopagnosia (from the Greek prósōpon – face – and agnōsía – unrecognition) or facial blindness.

For those with prosopagnosia, all people seem to be the same face

People with this disorder have a hard time distinguishing faces.Meanwhile, the ability to determine other parameters – age, height, physique – remains with them. Those who suffer from prosopagnosia are able to recognize separate parts of a human face and distinguish it from other objects. But they are not able to understand who it belongs to, to connect it with the memories of some person, his name and other data. Sometimes they also cannot distinguish between the faces of men and women, close relatives, and in severe cases they do not even recognize their own reflection in the mirror.It seems to them that all faces are the same, explains Denise Soria Bauser, a German psychologist and researcher at the University of Bochum.

Difficulty in making a diagnosis

This neurological disorder occurs in people who have damage to the lower right side of the brain. There are two forms of inability to distinguish between faces – acquired and congenital. In some cases, the disorder occurs abruptly: for example, as a result of a stroke or brain injury.However, as a rule, prosopagnosia sufferers cannot recognize faces from birth. One of them is Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, who diagnosed himself on his own several years ago. Fortunately, his illness is mild.

Brad Pitt has mild prosopagnosia

Some scientists estimate that approximately two percent of the world’s population suffers from this disorder. Denise Soria Bowser is skeptical about such data. It is impossible to establish the exact number of such people, she said, since there are no clear criteria for making a diagnosis.In addition, a significant part of those suffering from prosopagnosia in a mild form are not covered by statistics, since they have no idea about this disease and, accordingly, do not even suspect about its presence.

Emoticons and their perception by the human brain

Meanwhile, researchers are unanimous in the opinion that there is a certain area in the human brain that is responsible for the integral visual perception of faces. When we look at a human face, some parts of the brain are activated, and when we look at a tree, chair or stone, others.As shown by the results of a number of experiments, for recognizing a person, the most important facial features are, in descending order, his eyes, mouth and nose. Having fixed them, our visual system sends the received information to the brain module, which we use to identify faces. By the way, even a graphic emoticon is perceived by our brain as a real smiling face. Scientists believe that this is what explains the high popularity of such stylized symbol pictures.

“The human brain is looking for a face,” the WDR television and radio company quotes prosopagnosia specialist Thomas Grüter.According to the doctor, this has historical roots. Since time immemorial, people have lived in groups – just like, for example, primates. At the same time, in almost any community there is a certain hierarchy, each of its members has a certain status, not to mention the enmity, friendship or sexual relations of individuals. Accordingly, team members should get to know each other.

Disease of intellectuals

If dogs distinguish each other by smell, then primates and humans – by appearance.Moreover, the face has been of decisive importance in a person’s identification of his neighbor for millions of years. Therefore, a special module was formed in the human brain, which is responsible for face recognition. In people diagnosed with face-blindness, something in this module is damaged, but what exactly – scientists have not yet figured out. It is also interesting that gifted people and intellectuals most often suffer from prosopagnosia, but the underlying reason for this is still unknown, says Thomas Grüter.

Prosopagnosia is not yet cured, but it is extremely important to identify the disease itself, to make the correct diagnosis.So for those who suspect that they or someone close to them have such a disorder, Thomas Grüter recommends that they immediately consult a doctor. They have already developed special techniques to help them learn to recognize people by the timbre of voice, physique, hair color, hairstyle, gait, demeanor, style of clothing.

For those who know about their ailment, experts advise not to hide it, but to tell new acquaintances about it with a certain amount of humor: they say, keep in mind that I may not recognize you the next time we meet, so remind yourself of yourself.People with this attitude are much more likely to socialize and avoid incidents in everyday life.

Prebiotics and probiotics – what are they, what are the benefits, products

The active pace of life of a modern person does not provide an opportunity to eat right. There is simply not enough time for this. We just have to have a quick snack during the break, sandwiches or, even worse, fast food. As a result, we often get discomfort, lethargy, feeling unwell, and bowel upset.

In particular, poor nutrition can lead to stomach ulcers, gastritis, dysbiosis, pancreatitis and other gastrointestinal problems. That is why it is so important to eat regularly and fully, including components such as probiotics and prebiotics in the diet.

These concepts are often confused, but they are completely different in nature. Let’s immediately figure out how they differ and in what dishes they can be found.

What are probiotics

Probiotics are living bacteria that have a beneficial effect on our microflora.They are essential for good digestion and great health. And getting them is easy enough. Introduce foods such as cheese, yogurt, kefir into your diet. In addition to them, there are also medicines and food additives that help fill the lack of microorganisms.

Along with improving digestion, probiotics have other benefits:

  • heals the skin;
  • strengthen the immune system;
  • freshen breath;
  • add energy due to vitamin B12;
  • allow you to get rid of discomfort in the intestines associated with inflammation;
  • help support the intestinal microflora for colds and flu;
  • contribute to weight loss;
  • alleviate the consequences after a course of antibiotic treatment.

Probiotics are also recommended for the restoration of intimate health in women. The bacteria normalize the vaginal microflora and help fight various infections or even prevent their development.

Natural probiotics are found in greater quantities in fermented milk products, so they must be present in the diet. If, for some reason, you cannot get bacteria in this way, then you need to consult with your doctor and choose the appropriate nutritional supplements.

What are prebiotics and what are their benefits

Prebiotics create favorable conditions for the development of the bacteria we need in the intestines. They are little absorbed by the body, but are important for the reproduction of probiotics, serving as food for them. Thus, prebiotics with microorganisms must be coupled to the body in order to properly perform their functions, strengthening our health.

The beneficial properties of prebiotics include the following:

  • normalization of intestinal microflora;
  • prevention of constipation and the development of inflammatory processes;
  • reduction of gassing;
  • stimulation of the production of vitamins of group K and B;
  • Absorption of minerals (e. g. magnesium and calcium).

The group of prebiotics includes poly-, oligo- and monosaccharides, which are found in food (in fresh milk, bread, corn, peas, onions, bananas, etc.), in bran and fiber, in food additives and preparations. Each of us determines for himself in what form it is easier for him to use prebiotics, taking into account individual characteristics.

It should be understood that for prevention it is better to use natural probiotics and prebiotics in products. However, if these components are needed for medicinal purposes, dietary supplements and medicines as prescribed by a doctor would be a more effective solution.

It is not necessary to abuse prebiotics and probiotics, as side symptoms such as abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea and others may occur. It is important that the body regularly receives the right amount of the necessary microorganisms.

Probiotic products

Let’s analyze in more detail which foods contain probiotics, which are the most useful and what they give to the body:

  1. Yoghurt . This product is believed to contain the maximum amount of probiotics. To obtain yoghurt, lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria are used. Improves digestion, strengthens the immune system, normalizes heart function.
  2. Sauerkraut . This product is an essential part of a healthy diet. In addition to probiotics, it contains vitamins K, C, B, iron, fiber, sodium, etc. This is a fermented dish that facilitates the process of assimilation of food.
  3. Kefir .A popular fermented milk product that is useful for both adults and children. Normalizes the intestinal microflora, strengthens the immune system, is the body’s defense against infections.
  4. Kimchi . Fermented dish based on spicy cabbage. It contains probiotics, antioxidants and vitamins. Kimchi is similar to sauerkraut, but in a Korean style. Garlic, onions, sauces and carrots are crushed here. After that, leave to ferment for 2 weeks.
  5. Miso . A popular dish in Japan. It is prepared on the basis of rice, beans, barley, a certain group of molds, wheat. Contains probiotics necessary for the body, manganese, proteins, copper, vitamins, fiber.
  6. Tempe . A fermented product that originated in Indonesia and spread throughout the world over time. For vegetarians, this is a great alternative to meat, which provides the necessary amount of protein and probiotics. The fermentation process involves a decrease in phytic acid in the product, which contributes to a better assimilation of useful microelements.Also, during fermentation, vitamin B12 is formed, which is usually found in animal products.
  7. Pickles . A favorite snack and the best ingredient for salads. Contains vitamin K and probiotics that are beneficial for the intestinal flora. It has a good effect on digestion, helps to assimilate fatty foods. However, it is important to remember that pickled cucumbers with vinegar do not contain live microorganisms.
  8. Natto . Originally from Japan, this dish is based on fermented soybeans.The composition contains a large amount of proteins, vitamin K2, and probiotics. Improves food processing, good for the cardiovascular system and bones.
  9. Apple cider vinegar . Often used in cooking for salads and other culinary products that require a savory sauce. Contains probiotics and vitamins. Normalizes cholesterol levels, controls blood pressure, promotes weight loss by accelerating metabolism.
  10. Kvass .A delicious drink that quickly quenches your thirst. However, it also contains beneficial microorganisms that preserve the normal microflora. The drink is prepared from malt and flour by fermentation. Sometimes other components are added to it: beets, honey, fruits.

Probiotics and prebiotics in normal amounts improve well-being and health. Therefore, if you practically do not use the above products, it is time to introduce them into your diet, if you have no individual contraindications.After all, any change in diet requires prior consultation with a doctor and examination. You may not be aware of some problems with the gastrointestinal tract, and the amount of prebiotics from foods will not be enough for you. Then it is better to immediately undergo a course of treatment using nutritional supplements.

Pregnant women often suffer especially from a form of body poisoning – toxicosis.Pathology is accompanied by nausea and vomiting. In pregnant women, the body is poisoned with fetal products. This pathology manifests itself in a wide range of symptoms. Modern medicine is able to eliminate the disease.

Toxicosis in pregnant women: a manifestation of the disease

Toxicosis is poisoning. The fetus secretes products inside the woman’s body. The latter begins to perceive the work of the fetus as hostile. As a result, symptoms of poisoning appear.

Signs of toxicosis in pregnant women:

  • persistent nausea and strong morning gag reflex;
  • increased drowsiness;
  • constant weakness and poor performance;
  • constant mood swings of a sharp character;
  • dislike of strong odors.

Pathology manifests itself during the first trimeter of pregnancy. But not all women watch her. Why is this happening – there is still no exact answer. Over time, the phenomenon disappears by itself. But some have toxicosis late in pregnancy. This is a more dangerous form of toxicosis, since it can negatively affect the course of pregnancy. You will need to be monitored by specialists at a hospital.

Symptoms of pathology appear gradually after conception.In the beginning, the disappearance of appetite and increased irritability are observed. The disease is gradually increasing. But for one woman, only a few symptoms are characteristic, and not all at once. And so for everyone.

Do you have symptoms of toxicosis?

Only a doctor can accurately diagnose the disease.
Do not delay the consultation – call by phone

+7 (495) 775-73-60

The origins of the development of pathology

During pregnancy, hormonal changes in the female body occur.This is a natural process.

Modern science is not able to give an exact answer about the development of toxicosis. Each woman develops this ailment individually. It all depends on the immunity and physiological characteristics of the pregnant woman’s body. Quality therapy requires an individualized approach.

The nascent fetus produces waste products and develops toxins. The disease is not terrible and you should not be afraid of it. The task of the expectant mother is to alleviate her situation in the possible ways.

Additional causes of toxicosis development:

  • placenta growth;
  • protection of the body from the effects of an actively growing fetus;
  • the presence of chronic diseases;
  • unstable psychological state of a pregnant woman;
  • genetic predisposition;
  • multiple fetuses;
  • large age of the pregnant woman.

The development of toxicosis is accompanied by a considerable number of factors.It is difficult to independently try to determine the source of the problem and how to influence it. Specialists of JSC “Medicine” (the clinic of Academician Roitberg) will help a woman get rid of feelings of discomfort and turn the initial stage of pregnancy into pleasure.

Risks of toxicosis

Despite the natural origin of the disease, it carries risks. They are associated with the course of pregnancy and the quality of bearing the fetus. Also, the disease can negatively affect the general condition of a woman.

Risk factors for toxicosis in pregnant women:

  • lack of quality sleep;
  • constant overwork;
  • lack of a power supply system.

The fetus requires additional resources of the female body for development. But the body does not rest and does not receive quality nutrition for the growth of the fetus.

There are several degrees of early toxicosis in pregnant women:

  • easy degree. Vomiting no more than 5 times a day.Loss of body weight no more than 3 kg;
  • medium. Vomiting up to 10 times a day. In 2 weeks, a woman can lose up to 10 kg of weight. Unsatisfactory general condition;
  • severe degree. Vomiting more than 25 times a day. Weight loss is more than 10 kg. Development of hepatic and renal failure, general degradation of the body.

Observation of a general deterioration in well-being and active manifestation of symptoms is a reason to consult a specialist. Vomiting and a lack of food deprive the fetus of important nutrients.

Risks of complications

The effect of toxicosis on the body of a pregnant woman depends on the degree of development of the disease. The first degree is harmless to the woman’s body and occurs naturally. In some cases, the second degree does not pose a threat. With a normal course, symptoms disappear by 14 weeks.

The third degree is dangerous for the health of the woman and the fetus. The body is dehydrated and depleted. Women are at risk of complications:

  • heart and renal failure;
  • pulmonary edema;
  • falling into a coma on the background of exhaustion;
  • placental insufficiency in the late stages of pregnancy;
  • fetal growth retardation;
  • risk of premature birth.

Toxicosis is not always mild in pregnant women. The health of the fetus is in the hands of the mother and father. With the development of symptoms of the disease, the risk of complications increases proportionally.

Contacting a specialist

Do not rely on your own strength to overcome toxicosis in the early stages and its consequences. Specialists of JSC “Medicine” (the clinic of Academician Roitberg) believe that pregnancy should be comfortable. Despite the absence of a threat from a mild form of the disease, you should still see a doctor.

Factors determining an urgent visit to a doctor in the center of Moscow with toxicosis of pregnant women:

  • vomiting more than 5 times per day. Due to the regurgitation of nutrients, the body develops depletion and dehydration;
  • 90,047 the amount of urination decreased and the urine became dark in color. Dizziness is observed with vigorous activity;

  • pain in the abdomen;
  • vomiting when eating and not eating for more than 12 hours;
  • weight loss exceeds 2.5 kg per week.

The listed factors of toxicosis reflect serious problems with the body. Time wasting will lead to even more problems.

Doctor’s visit or visit: preparations

Poor health, constant vacuum and vomiting require preparation before visiting a medical center on your own. Relax before going to the hospital.

Those close to you need:

  • make an appointment with the pregnant woman in advance;
  • organize delivery in the most comfortable conditions by car or taxi as soon as possible;
  • promptly pick up the pregnant woman from the clinic.

In case of acute problems, it is worth waiting for the doctor to visit your home. An ambulance is an effective measure in the fight against toxicosis, since the patient may be unable to move independently.

Diagnostic measures of toxicosis

Obvious symptoms do not give the right to self-diagnose toxicosis during pregnancy. The patient should be examined by a specialist. Doctors of various fields are engaged in the treatment of diseases at our multidisciplinary medical center in the center of Moscow.It depends on the strength of the disease and the presence of additional pathologies.

  • Gynecologist. Qualified specialists will tell you how to deal with toxicosis with medication and other means. The pregnant woman will be explained the causes of toxicosis and how long the toxicosis lasts. The doctor will listen to the symptoms of toxicosis of a pregnant woman and accurately outline the clinical picture. Toxicosis of the first pregnancy should not cause fear and patients – the task of the gynecologist is to give confidence to future women in labor. There is also an opportunity to ask a specialist about the timing – when the toxicosis ends.
  • Severe toxicosis and the presence of complications require an in-depth study of the patient’s condition by other specialists. In our clinic there is an opportunity to be examined by a physiotherapist. The doctor will tell you how to relieve toxicosis and reduce its effect on other organs.
  • Personal problems will be resolved by a psychologist. The specialist will help resolve family problems until the toxicosis ends. The psychologist will tell you how to deal with toxicosis.

The family and the pregnant woman herself should prepare in advance for the period when toxicosis begins.They do this at the stage of pregnancy so as not to irritate the woman once again. JSC “Medicine” (Clinic of Academician Roitberg) provides a full range of medical services for pregnant women in the Central District.

Treatment methods

Strong manifestations of the disease require the prima of specialized drugs. Self-medication can be harmful, so be sure to consult with the specialists of JSC “Medicine” (clinic of Academician Roitberg). So there will be no risk of harm to the fetus.

Principles of treatment:

  • mild form does not require treatment. It all comes down to observation;
  • elimination of gagging;
  • Choleretic drugs relieve symptoms and improve liver function;
  • Other prescribed drugs will help get rid of muscle spasms, eliminate abdominal pain, lower blood pressure and overcome general weakness.

Medicines are prescribed by qualified doctors based on test results.Unsupported research findings and treatment are hazardous to health.

Home measures to combat toxicosis

Folk remedies can relieve a mild form of the disease. Pregnant women and loved ones should take care of the implementation of proven methods.

Home remedies for toxicosis:

  • full sleep;
  • regular long walks;
  • food intake in small portions, but often;
  • refusal from fatty and salty foods;
  • remove all foreign and unpleasant odors in the home that cause irritation;
  • favorable psychological environment.

Do not succumb to stress and overwork. Controlling your emotions will help you achieve a happy meeting with your newborn. Folk remedies will help you easily transfer a simple form of toxicosis.

Toxicosis during pregnancy: myths and misconceptions

There are well-established opinions about the manifestation of toxicosis. Not all of them are true. You should not listen to public opinion.

  • There will be a girl with nausea. Vomiting is a symptom of intoxication due to fetal development.What gender he will have does not matter.
  • In a strong organism, the manifestations of toxicosis are more powerful. Here, rather, on the contrary – a strong organism is able to cope with the problems that have arisen.
  • Toxicosis cannot be cured. The phenomenon does not lend itself to complete treatment, but the condition of a pregnant woman can be significantly alleviated.

Only specialists can give exact answers to questions.

Preventive measures

Preventive measures are aimed at preventing the side effects of toxicosis.It is important for a young mother to control herself throughout the day.

Useful Hints:

  • absence of sudden movements, especially in the morning;
  • 90,047 split meals with lots of snacks;

  • cumin or regular chewing gum prevents vomiting;
  • high intake of vitamin B6 contributes to the absence of vomiting4
  • only light food in the diet;
  • drinking large volumes of liquid per day in small portions;
  • drinking mint decoctions.

Prevention will improve your well-being. The phenomena of toxicosis, subject to the daily regimen, will practically not disturb the young mother.

Drink water, you will become a kid … – South and North Caucasus |

Interfax-Russia.ru – Cases of mass poisoning have been reported in Dagestan and the Rostov region, most of the victims are children.

The past week will be remembered for mass poisonings in the Perm Territory, Dagestan and the Rostov Region.Two of these regions belong to the South of Russia. But first of all, in all fairness, it is necessary to start with Krasnokamsk, where on February 17 the Rospotrebnadzor administration for the Perm Territory was forced to impose a restriction on the use of tap water for cooking. The Sanitary Service reported that it is constantly monitoring water quality (samples are taken every 2-3 hours) in the Kama River at the point of water intake and in the distribution network. And she especially emphasized: “The water supplied in the network cannot be used for drinking purposes.”In fact, the entire city was disconnected from the water supply.

It all started with the fact that on the night of May 15, CJSC Promkhimperm threw a large amount of oil products into the Kama river. At the enterprise, during the overflow of the solvent, the hose broke, as a result of which the current carried the pollutants to the Votkinsk reservoir.

In Kama, experts found benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, xylenes and styrene, which, being in water, “pass into the vapor phase and cause a strong odor.”Water samples showed an excess of the norm of oil products by 18 times.

A few days later, the chief state sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation, Gennady Onishchenko, publicly announced that Rospotrebnadzor intends to go to court over the situation in Krasnokamsk. It turned out that 50 thousand city dwellers (out of 60 thousand population) use exclusively technical water for their entire conscious life, which in no case should be drunk. These residents of the city suffer from frequent intestinal disorders, and doctors are forced to carry out a massive vaccination of citizens against hepatitis.And this nightmare has been going on for 70 years. Since the appearance of a water supply system in the city in the 30s of the last century, the water supply system here has not changed much.

True, the Krasnokamsk administration stated that there were no emergencies associated with mass poisoning of people in the city. What the townspeople themselves, however, explain simply: no one uses tap water for food purposes at all. Is that extreme or people who are completely insane. The rest prefer to use country wells or springs.Meanwhile, they pay for “technical water” in Krasnokamsk as for drinking water.

On the same February day, when the residents of Krasnokamsk learned about the ban on drinking liquid from the water supply system, young children aged 2 months to 6 years with signs of poisoning began to enter the hospitals of the Dagestan capital. On February 18, the number of hospitalized people reached 79 – all with a diagnosis of acute intestinal disease. The condition of the children was assessed as moderate and mild. According to local media reports, by the evening of the same day, the number of small patients reached 100, and from different urban areas.Symptoms include high fever, vomiting, and upset stomach. By February 19, 122 children were admitted to hospitals in Makhachkala, 70% of them are children under 3 years old.

However, some media outlets claim that in fact, more than 200 children were admitted to the republican center for infectious diseases in the first week of February alone with signs of intestinal infections. Only on February 8, more than two dozen poisoned children were counted here.

Meanwhile, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Dagestan said that they did not know anything about the mass hospitalization of children, no emergencies and epidemiological threats threaten Makhachkala.

Despite this, the prosecutor of Dagestan, Andrei Nazarov, instructed the prosecutors of Makhachkala and the Kizilyurt interdistrict prosecutor, together with specialists from the republican department of Rospotrebnadzor, to check the fulfillment of sanitary and epidemiological requirements in the sale of infant formula. According to the website of the Dagestan Prosecutor’s Office, according to a preliminary investigation by the local Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, one of the probable reasons for the mass illness of children is precisely the use of milk formulas.

Indeed, epidemiologists say that “babies” and children, most likely, suffered from non-compliance with the technology for preparing milk porridge. Well, to put it simply, tap water was used to make porridge. A number of samples from the water supply network did not meet the sanitary-chemical and sanitary-bacteriological standards. The investigation also revealed that many parents often gave their children tap water and washed their hands, dishes and nipples with unfiltered, unboiled water.

That is, in fact, the real cause of acute intestinal diseases in the Dagestan capital was precisely the poor quality of tap water.

The quality of drinking water in Dagestan is a topic for a special conversation. Suffice it to say that a month before the emergency in Makhachkala, children were already massively poisoned in the satellite city of the Dagestan capital – Kaspiysk. On January 13, 44 children from kindergarten No. 17 “Buratino” after breakfast were urgently hospitalized in the infectious diseases department of the Caspian city hospital with a diagnosis of food poisoning.The condition of six babies was assessed as grave. According to one of the versions, apricot juice diluted with water became the cause of the poisoning. The Investigation Department under the Department of Internal Affairs for Kaspiysk opened a criminal case on this fact under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules, which inadvertently entailed a mass illness or poisoning of people).

It should be noted that poisoning of children with poor-quality water in Dagestan is not an isolated phenomenon. In May last year, 26 people were hospitalized with this diagnosis in the Kizilyurt hospital, including 11 children.A year earlier, about 60 children from the village of Separatorny had to be isolated with a diagnosis of hepatitis A – because of the disgusting tap water, lack of sewage and the abundance of landfills in the area.

Makhachkala in this sense is simply in a fever. Here, interruptions in drinking water have become commonplace. So, on February 4, during repair work at one of the pumping stations, three pumps were flooded, and several tens of thousands of townspeople were left without water. Earlier Makhachkala residents sat without water for five days due to the fact that pieces of ice clogged the grate of the water intake.

And on February 17, people held meetings until late at night, blocking Aligadzhi Akushinsky Avenue. The reason is the lack of water, electricity and heating in their houses …

Simultaneously with Dagestan, the Rostov region also underwent a massive attack of E. coli. Rather, one of its districts is Semikarakorsky. Here, requests for help from local aesculapians were even more widespread than in Makhachkala. Over 400 people, including children and adolescents, applied to the district hospitals with complaints of indigestion, weakness and general ill health.True, as the press secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Rostov Region, Lyudmila Bondar, reassured, the symptoms of the disease in most of the victims are mild.

However, for some reason the regional prosecutor’s office was not very reassured. Prosecutors, together with epidemiologists, promptly checked the emergency. Law enforcement officers checked the main water supply networks through which drinking water is delivered to the regional center of Semikarakorsk. Rospotrebnadzor specialists examined water samples.

At the same time, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Semikarakorsk District submitted to the head physician of the district hospital a proposal to eliminate violations of federal legislation related to the late informing of law enforcement agencies about the increase in the number of cases.

A group of regional infectious disease specialists visited Semikarakorsk. During the investigation, it turned out that the diagnosis – a viral infection – was confirmed only in 77 patients who sought help. To date, 5 people remain in the hospital, the remaining 72 are undergoing outpatient treatment under the supervision of doctors.41 victims are children. This was announced by the chief state sanitary doctor of the Rostov region Mikhail Soloviev.

As noted by Solovyov, the cause of the incident is the outdated technology of treatment facilities in the Semikarakorsk region. They worked properly, but could not cope with intestinal viruses, the number of which in the Don traditionally increases with warming. So the insidious virus nevertheless made its way through all the obstacles and obstacles. So now we have to urgently disinfect the water supply and disinfect the water.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the administration of the local vodokanal, and a fine has been imposed on it.

However, by and large, we should talk not so much about punitive measures as about economic measures. It is clear that it is the plumbing system that needs to be changed. And not only in the Semikarakorsk region.

As Interfax-Russia.ru was informed in the Rostov Region Prosecutor’s Office, just a few days ago the Rostov Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, with the involvement of specialists from Rosprirodnadzor and Rospotrebnadzor, carried out an inspection on the fact that sewage flows into the Temernik River flowing through the territory of the Don capital.

The first results showed that due to the sewer collector, the suburban areas were flooded with sewage, along the channel of the storm sewer, sewage partially began to flow to Temernik, and from it to the Don. Water samples in the Don showed that the permissible concentrations of nitrogen and ammonium were exceeded. The check continues. If violations are detected, response measures will be taken, up to the initiation of a criminal case.

Let us also remind that in September 2008 in the city of Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region, due to poor purification of drinking water, there was a massive infectious disease of residents.With the diagnosis “acute gastroenterocolitis” 103 people turned to medical institutions. Most of them were hospitalized. They all drank raw water. Then the experts said: in Novoshakhtinsk, the water supply system is 85% worn out, which leads to accidents and poisoning of people.

Alas, Rostov-on-Don has become famous for a long time and sadly for its water supply and sewerage system. Literary critics and historians, to the place and out of place, recall the tour of Vladimir Mayakovsky in Rostov in 1926.Pavel Lavut, who accompanied him, wrote in his memoirs: “Mayakovsky brought a dozen bottles of narzan to the hotel. Why such a stock? , there was a message in Pravda.) And although the water had already been purified by our arrival, and the residents of Rostov made good use of fresh water, Mayakovsky, being very suspicious and squeamish, refused the services of the Rostov water supply system.He decided to use narzan and excluded from everyday life all “water” dishes: he drank narzan, washed himself with narzan, boiled tea from narzan and joked at the same time:

– How do you know when narzan tea is boiling? Doesn’t he gurgle all the time? The boiling point cannot be determined. ”

We must pay tribute: since then, much has changed for the better in the Don capital. However, we have to admit with regret: both in the Don, and in the South as a whole, and in the country as a whole, the state of drinking water is becoming more and more alarming, threatening to develop into a national catastrophe.This is evidenced by numerous facts and distress signals from different parts of the country.

It seems that the problem of clean water is highlighted and pushes even the problem of terrorism aside. Because irresponsibility and slovenliness are worse than terror. It remains to be hoped that someday it will come to us.

90,000 Tourist review of L’ancora Beach Hotel 4 *. Rating of hotels in the world

Good afternoon everyone! To begin with, we arrived at 6 in the morning, flew from Anex, the flight and transfer to the hotels passed without delay, the plane was excellent.By the way, it was the second time in Turkey, the first time we were in Side.

We arrived at the hotel at about 9 am, left our things and immediately went to breakfast. Breakfast has something to eat – it’s scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs, as well as pancakes, croissants, cheeses (too salty in my opinion), fruits, yoghurts with cereals.

Check-in was after 14:00. We settled with friends in different 2-bed rooms, as booked. When we checked in, we were offered an alternative – the four of us could be accommodated in a large two-room suite with two air conditioners, overlooking the sea.But we refused, because we paid for two separate rooms, and it is clear why they offered it (so we occupy one room, not two. And if we agreed, they could check in someone else in our vacant rooms that we paid for). So we refused)

So, about the numbers. My husband and I could say we were lucky, we were put in a room with a nice new air conditioner, which cooled perfectly. But our friends were less fortunate. Not only were they first placed in a room with two single beds instead of one double (after a request to move into a room with one bed, they were moved), they also ended up in a room where there is no normal air conditioning! And I understand that it is so in almost all rooms.Instead of an air conditioner, an incomprehensible grill, similar to an exhaust hood, there is no remote control, it is regulated from the wall, but does not cool at all! The heat in the room is unbearable. Feline smelled, sorry, urine in their room all the time. By the way, the rooms we had were economy, without a balcony. A small window was located on the side of the door, it had to be constantly curtained, because people are walking in the corridor. Because of this, the room is very dark, you had to turn on all the lights all the time. But we were lucky in something else, the card did not work for us, and even when leaving, the lights and air conditioning remained on.

Food. I didn’t like it. The breakfasts were even more or less. The saddest situation at dinners is that there is practically nothing to eat. For you to understand, all four of us had a terrible stomach upset from this spicy, sour and incomprehensible cooked food. The alcohol is also terrible. The beer is not very tasty, it looks like Klin beer. At dinners, they were given rice (the only thing that could be eaten without fear), all the pasta was under some kind of sauces. The potatoes were rare and very spicy. Once there was delicious fish and a couple of times not bad meat.By the way, there are no complaints about desserts! Very tasty) But it would be better if the main dishes were so tasty!

A couple of times they gave peaches, but we did not see them, because the hotel is full of grandmas who come at 7 pm and row these peaches up a mountain. And, apparently, there are always a limited number of them! By floor 8, there are no peaches anymore.

There are really a lot of bucks. As if not a hotel, but a pensioners’ house. Maybe we were just unlucky and we got there)

The sea is excellent – very clean, warm.The downside is that it starts deep right away and many hang out where you can still stand. Because of this, from 9 to 12 at sea, it seems that there are a lot of people. I didn’t really like the beach, although it is clean. Very small, loungers on top of each other, positioned so that you can’t squeeze between them. It is not very pleasant to lie a few cm away from a stranger) Another disadvantage is that there is a separate paid bar on the beach, and it is very expensive, but with your own drinks, it is supposedly impossible.

The time of stay at the hotel fell on my birthday.Our guide from aneks said, “Tell the receptionist about it.” We said and they brought us 2 apples, 2 pears and 1 peach to our room on our birthday. Well, at least something: D.

Wi-Fi at the hotel is very expensive. Therefore, we did not take it. Excursions were taken from Maxvell opposite, they also asked for Wi-Fi, sometimes they came there to surf the Internet. They are very friendly there, and the excursions came out for $ 20 cheaper than the anex.

Sometimes we swam in the pool outside, but there is cold water. Nobody swims in the pool in the restaurant, I don’t understand why he is there, probably for beauty)) The hotel area is small, but beautiful, green.

There are practically no children in the hotel, but in my opinion, this hotel is completely unsuitable for families with children. And besides, there is no animation. But there are evenings of live music every other day.

We regretted taking this hotel just because it is in the center of Kemer. For the same amount, you could take a good 5 * with animation and a large beach. But we thought that in the center there would be where to walk, what to see. In fact, there is not much to see in Kemer. You cannot approach the pier, it is closed, and along the streets there are only restaurants and hookah bars, no attractions.In the other direction, there are some stalls, which are constantly beckoned by sellers, so much so that it is impossible to walk. And if you refuse to enter, very often they can be rude and say hurtful words. Several times to our harmless comment that we do not need excursions. we are leaving tomorrow, they said to us, “Finally bring it down,” once they advised us to buy a spine, it’s not clear at all for what reason. And these are not all cases of rudeness without a reason. Rudens and boors at almost every step. That is why the desire to return to Turkey has disappeared once and for all.

By the way, we rented electric scooters and went up the mountain to the flag ourselves – it’s very cool there, the beauty is incredible! I advise 🙂 In general, Kemer has very beautiful nature, the mountains amaze with their views.

That’s probably all I wanted to tell. I do not recommend this hotel. But in any case, I wish everyone a great stay!

Good afternoon

A couple of days ago, we returned from this “amazing hotel” with such impressions that there was no desire to return to the country.I am surprised that many people praise the food, for 11 full days the diet has not changed a bit. From 10 days – 3 we left for the city to eat) The only thing that saved it was a more or less delicious breakfast with pancakes, croissants and scrambled eggs. Lunch and dinner are another story. Day after day everything is the same. Dry chicken, powdered mashed potatoes, french fries and fish (I poisoned it on the first day, the next 10 did not risk it) juice – powder mixed with water. All baked goods – one dough mixed with different dyes and rolled into different shapes, does not differ in taste.Is the hotel manager a person who doesn’t listen to you, your shower is broken? You are to blame! From time to time he repeats “you are not in your Russia! you have no rights here, if you don’t like something – pay more and come to a normal hotel ”to hear this was a novelty for me.

To get us plus or minus a good number, we had to pay $ 100 extra). Everyone asks for tips in such a way that you cannot help but give, because they pretend that they do not understand Russian and English, although 1 minute ago they spoke perfectly in both languages, they stand in the room with an outstretched hand and do not leave.Hotel Maximum for 3, no 5ka)

My advice, really, listen to the manager of this wonderful hotel, pay .20, -30 thousand and rest in peace)

We rested at the hotel from 15.10-21.10, with a baby 1 year 2 months. The hotel is large, clean enough, with a tired renovation, but still it is not critical.The food is good and varied. Lots of fun for the kids. This is where the pros end and hell begins. On the 4th day, the child’s temperature rose to 38.5, at first I thought that I had a cold, but it was not there, vomiting and diarrhea began. We turned to a local doctor who was not nearly surprised by the symptoms of the child, we were not alone in the queue to see a doctor with similar symptoms. The doctor took $ 30 in insurance for looking at the baby and shaking his head. A wonderful doctor. For 24 hours the child lay with a cloth with a high temperature, for me the vacation at that moment was over.During lunch and breakfast, one or two children consistently vomited right at the table, so-so picture. Rotovirus in this hotel decimates almost everyone. 11 times have been to Turkey, never in my life, no one was sick there with rotovirus. On the last day I got sick too, we flew home, already in Russia there was a high temperature. If you are not embarrassed by the vomiting hotel, you are welcome …. p.s our guide from Pegasus warned us that the hotel has a rotovirus in the pool, so that we would not swim. We didn’t swim in it and it didn’t help…

We are resting here now, since October 22. The hotel is really “tired” but not critical. Very luxurious area! Food – no frills, but there is everything except seafood. Nobody was hungry, meat, fish every day. Drinks, mostly local, you can drink.For understanding: the price for 5 nights for three adults is 68,000. If you want delights, in the neighboring Rixoss, for 250,000. The sea is indeed cold in parts, but in the neighboring hotel the same thing (we went to the beach three times to swim there). The pools are unheated, so now they are already cold, no one is bathing. But what I liked was the attitude of the staff to the vacationers, they try, they clean everything, the cleaning in the villa is no better and no worse than in other “five”.
