Meloxicam & Ibuprofen: Are They Safe to Mix?

Meloxicam and ibuprofen are both non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs are not addictive or habit forming. They treat pain. Unlike opioids for pain, these drugs are not controlled substances and not addictive.

Article at a Glance:

Important takeaways about meloxicam and ibuprofen include:

  • Both drugs belong to the same class (NSAIDs)
  • Both are commonly used to treat pain
  • Meloxicam is prescribed and ibuprofen is available over the counter
  • Taking both drugs will not provide an added benefit, but increase side effects
  • Common side effects of NSAIDs are damage to the stomach or kidneys

Similarities of Meloxicam and Ibuprofen

Both of these drugs are generic medications with different brand names. Both are used to treat pain.

The Food and Drug Association (FDA) has approved ibuprofen to treat the following conditions:

  • Pain
  • Fever
  • Menstrual cramps
  • Gout
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis

Meloxicam has been approved to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, but is also used to treat gout and gout flares.

NSAIDs work to prevent the body from creating certain chemical signals. These can carry different messages, including when blood vessels should expand, telling platelets to clump together and alerting the brain when the body is in pain.

NSAIDS stop these chemical signals and the sensation of pain. NSAIDs can also reduce tenderness, inflammation and swelling. This leads to faster healing for some tissues.

Differences Between Meloxicam and Ibuprofen

One of the main differences between the two is that the meloxicam is a prescription drug and ibuprofen is available over the counter.

Meloxicam has the following brand names:

  • Mobic Tablets
  • Qmiiz ODT
  • Vivlodex capsules

Meloxicam lasts longer than ibuprofen and is taken once daily. It can hurt the stomach and kidneys, but the risk of this is less since it is taken less often than ibuprofen.

Ibuprofen is a well-known drug that goes by the following brand names:

  • Advil
  • Motrin
  • NeoProfen
  • Provil

Doses of ibuprofen are taken about every six to eight hours. Most people can take it, but it should be used with caution if you have stomach issues.

It weakens the lining of the stomach over time. NSAIDs can also reduce blood flow to the kidneys, so a person with a history of kidney problems should not use it.

Can I Take Meloxicam and Ibuprofen Together?

Can you take meloxicam and ibuprofen together? You can take them together, but taking both drugs at the same time will not provide added benefit.

You should only take both drugs on the same day if your doctor instructs you to do so. Taking them together is only appropriate in a few unique medical situations.

Many people take ibuprofen without realizing that meloxicam is the same kind of drug. For more pain control, you need pain medication from a different class, like acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol).

Side Effects of Meloxicam and Ibuprofen Together

Taken together, these drugs increase the chances of side effects. The most likely damage from this combination is to the stomach or kidneys.

Common symptoms to look for include:

  • Cloudy, discolored or bloody urine
  • Difficult or painful urination
  • Gas or bloating
  • Headache
  • Loss of appetite
  • Pain in the upper right part of the stomach
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Swelling of the abdomen, feet, ankles or lower legs

While ibuprofen and meloxicam are not addictive substances, many pain medications are. If you are concerned that you or a loved one is addicted, call The Recovery Village. We can help determine if treatment is right for you.

    HEALTH CANADA ADVISORY

    June 8, 2021

Health Canada has issued new information concerning the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). To read the full Health Canada Advisory, visit Health Canada’s web site at www.hc-sc.gc.ca.

A previous advisory on non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) was issued on October 30, 2020.

Alcohol: People taking this medication should not drink alcohol, as this can increase the risk of stomach problems with the medication.

Allergic reactions: If you have had a reaction to acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, ketoprofen, diclofenac) that included a runny nose, itchy skin rash, nasal polyps, or shortness of breath and wheezing, you should not take this medication. If you experience symptoms of a severe allergic reaction (e.g., hives; difficulty breathing, wheezing; swelling of the face, tongue, or throat), get immediate medical attention.

Aseptic meningitis: This medication can rarely cause symptoms of aseptic meningitis (inflammation or swelling of the membranes around the brain and spinal cord that is not caused by bacteria). If you have an autoimmune condition (e.g., systemic lupus erythematosus, mixed connective tissue disease), you are more at risk for developing this. If you experience symptoms such as stiff neck, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, fever, or changes in consciousness, stop taking this medication and get immediate medical attention.

Bladder symptoms: This medication can cause bladder symptoms such as frequent or painful urination and blood in urine. If you develop these symptoms, stop taking this medication and contact your doctor immediately.

Blood counts: This medication can decrease the number of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell that helps fight infection), red blood cells (which carry oxygen), and platelets (which help your blood to clot). Your doctor will do blood tests to monitor this. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice an increased occurrence of signs of infection (e.g., fever, chills, or sore throat), feel unusually tired, lack energy, or experience unusual bleeding or bruising.

Blood pressure: Like other NSAIDs, meloxicam can cause increased blood pressure, which may contribute to other heart conditions. If you have high blood pressure, discuss with your doctor how this medication may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of this medication, and whether any special monitoring is needed.

Drowsiness/reduced alertness: Meloxicam may reduce mental or physical abilities required for performance of hazardous tasks such as operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle. Avoid these and other hazardous tasks until you are sure that this medication does not affect your ability to do these safely.

Fertility: Fertility may be decreased in people taking this medication. This medication is not recommended for women who are trying to get pregnant.

Galactose intolerance/glucose malabsorption: Meloxicam medications are prepared with lactose. If you have lactose or galactose intolerance you should not take these medications.

Heart attack and stroke: The use of COX-2 NSAIDs, including meloxicam, is associated with an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. This risk is increased with higher total daily doses and taking the medication over long periods of time. If you have a history of heart disease, including heart attack and stroke, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of taking this medication. Ask your doctor about all available treatment options that may be right for you.

Heart conditions: This medication can cause fluid retention which will make symptoms of certain heart conditions worse. If you have heart failure, high blood pressure, or other medical conditions that increase your risk of fluid retention (e. g., kidney problems), discuss with your doctor how this medication may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of this medication, and whether any special monitoring is needed.

Infection: This medication may mask signs of infection such as fever or muscle aches. If you notice other symptoms of infection (e.g., painful or frequent urination, sore throat, cough) contact your doctor.

Informing health professionals: Be sure to tell any health professionals (including your doctor, nurse, pharmacist, and dentist) involved in your care that you are taking this medication, particularly if you are scheduled for heart surgery.

Kidney function: This medication can affect kidney function. You have a higher risk of developing kidney problems if you are a senior, take diuretics (water pills; e.g., hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide), or already have kidney disease or heart failure. Your doctor may monitor your kidney function with blood tests when you are taking this medication. Meloxicam is not recommended for people with severely reduced kidney function if they are not receiving dialysis.

Liver function: This medication may affect your liver function or cause liver problems. If you experience symptoms of liver problems (e.g., nausea, vomiting, feeling tired, yellowing of the skin or eyes) contact your doctor immediately. If you have liver problems, discuss with your doctor how this medication may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of this medication, and whether any special monitoring is needed. People with severely reduced liver function or have active liver disease should not take this medication.

Potassium levels: Meloxicam may cause high blood potassium levels. You are more at risk of high blood potassium if you are a senior, have diabetes or kidney failure, or are taking beta-blockers (e.g., metoprolol, atenolol), angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (e. g., ramipril, enalapril), or some diuretics (e.g., triamterene, amiloride). Because extremely high blood potassium levels can contribute to other conditions, such as heart problems, your doctor will monitor your potassium level with blood tests while you are taking this medication.

Ulcers and bleeding in the stomach and intestines: This medication may cause stomach ulcers and bleeding from the stomach. These complications can occur at any time and are sometimes severe.

If you have had a stomach or intestinal ulcer, diverticulosis, Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, discuss with your doctor how this medication may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of this medication, and whether any special monitoring is needed.

If you experience symptoms of an ulcer or other stomach problems (e.g., stomach or abdominal pain, black stools, blood or coffee grind-like vomit, weakness), contact your doctor immediately or get immediate medical attention.

Pregnancy: This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, contact your doctor immediately. It must not be used during the last 3 months of pregnancy as it may cause heart and kidney problems for the developing baby and cause prolonged labour with excessive bleeding during delivery.

Breast-feeding: Many anti-inflammatory medications are known to pass into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking meloxicam, it may affect your baby. Breast-feeding is not recommended while you are taking meloxicam.

Children: The safety and effectiveness of using this medication have not been established for children.

Seniors: Seniors may have a higher risk of side effects and should be closely monitored by their doctors while taking this medication.

Is Meloxicam Addictive? Mobic Drug Class & Withdrawal

Meloxicam medication is a prescription drug classified as an NSAID that is used for pain symptoms. While this medicine is known to provide an effective alleviation of inflammation and pain, patients are at risk of abuse when they do not take Meloxicam medication following the instructions provided by a physician.

For this reason, it is vital to find answers to all important questions regarding this drug.

What is Meloxicam, and what is it used for? Is Meloxicam addictive? What to do if abuse is suspected?

    What Is Meloxicam?

Meloxicam medication is a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, often referred to as an NSAID.

What is Meloxicam used for? Mobic is primarily utilized to assist in treating pain and inflammation in patients diagnosed with joint pain, rheumatoid arthritis, or osteoarthritis. There are, however, other cases where a doctor may prescribe Mobic to a person, for example, it is also prescribed for postoperative pain. In such cases, an individual may experience pain that is related to a condition other than arthritis.

This medicine is a prescription drug, unlike other NSAIDs that are available over-the-counter. It should only be taken as prescribed by the doctor because it has the potential for side effects such as ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal failure, and cardiac failure, which need to be monitored closely under a doctor’s supervision. If the drug is taken without a prescription, the chances of overdosing and subsequent adverse effects increase significantly. A doctor will evaluate the patient’s history of gastrointestinal, cardiac, or renal problems and prescribe the drug accordingly.

    Is Mobic Safe?

Opioid painkillers work by acting on the hormones controlling the painful sensation. They have been widely used for the pain associated with arthritis, but their side effects and potential for dependence make them less than an ideal choice. NSAIDs are more effective and less harmful alternatives. They act by inhibiting the enzymes responsible for inflammation.

Meloxicam is a safe and effective NSAID alternative to opioids. It does not have very extreme side effects. However, it can have mild side effects on some people. It can also produce severe side effects in some cases. That is why it is best to take the first dose at home, especially if you have a job that requires high concentration. In some cases, there are chances of gastrointestinal bleeding. Contact your doctor immediately if this happens.

    Mobic Drug Class

Patients prescribed pain-relieving medication always try to select the most effective and the safest pharmaceutical option. Not to become a part of the opioid epidemic, patients often look for less addictive medication to treat their pain. Meloxicam addictive potential is low, and Meloxicam medication is widely known for its pain-relieving and anti-inflammation abilities, but what drug class does it belong to?

    Is Mobic A Narcotic?

Anti-inflammatory Mobic effect happens due to the inhibition of pain receptors associated with antipyretic and analgesic effects of the drug. Mobic does not alter the mood of a person taking it, as narcotics usually do. Therefore, the verdict is that this medication is not a narcotic.

    Is Mobic A Controlled Substance?

Mobic medication is a controlled substance because the drug gets dangerous when it is misused or overdosed. In addition, high doses of Mobic medication as other NSAIDs can cause significant issues in patients with gastrointestinal disorders, hypertension, allergy to NSAIDs, asthma, and heart conditions. Therefore, a physician’s approval and supervision are necessary due to the side effects of Mobic medication.

Although patients can obtain it only with a prescription, Mobic is not on the DEA list of controlled substances. Therefore, in this meaning, this medicine is not a controlled or scheduled substance.

    Is Mobic An NSAID?

The non-steroid drugs that address the problems associated with a chemical compound contributing to the inflammation in bone joints, i. e., prostaglandins, are tagged as NSAIDs. In reference to this definition, Mobic belongs to the group of drugs categorized as NSAIDs.

In the case of pain or swelling in any part of the body due to any reason, the immune response activates, and the cells start giving aid to the damaged area. To relieve pain other than curing or treating the reason, which takes time, diagnosis, and patience, certain pain inhibitors like NSAIDs are used.

    Is Meloxicam Addictive?

A large number of people are provided with this medicine when they complain about pain symptoms. It does not provide a euphoric high as it simply blocks the enzymes involved in the inflammation pathway for pain relief. But the pain-relieving property can make a person dependent on this drug. Some underlying psychological factors can also contribute to Meloxicam addictive potential, in which case, therapy can help resolve the underlying problems so that the dependence can be cured.

Some people can take the drug in combination with alcohol or other drugs to enhance their effects. However, such use and taking high doses to get high can be extremely harmful as they can cause adverse effects that are often very serious.

For individuals who don’t experience any health condition that Mobic aims to treat, this drug is not advised for any purpose. High doses of this medication can lead to several adverse effects and severe health issues. Therefore, this drug has many precautions and is not permitted for certain groups of people, pregnant women, for example. It is also known for many dangerous interactions with other drugs and substances, so an inexperienced individual falls under the risk of these interactions, Meloxicam with tramadol, for example, which could lead them to unwanted health conditions that may be difficult to manage even for the health professional.

What are the Signs and Symptoms of Mobic Abuse?

Meloxicam abuse signs and symptoms should be found and identified early on, and proper treatment and therapy should be provided on time. Although this medicine does not provide a euphoric high, its abuse can result in an overdose. Comparing symptoms of Meloxicam vs. Celebrex abuse, they are pretty similar.

It Is Advisable to Look Out for the Following Signs:

    • The person may run out of their medication before the expected date. In most cases, the individual will need to pick up a new prescription of the drug once every month. If their supply of medication is done before the next pickup date, it may signify Mobic abuse.
    • The individual may frequently discuss ways to get more Mobic since they might only have a single prescription.
    • Some patients may try to get a prescription for this drug from more than one doctor. These prescriptions are then distributed to different pharmacies.
    • A person may start to steal Mobic from friends and family if they are also using this medication to treat pain and inflammation.

Abusing this medicine can lead to serious adverse events. For this reason, individuals who are at risk of abusing prescription drugs are not advised to be provided with this medication. The individual needs to understand Meloxicam side effects and follow the instructions strictly.

    Mobic Addiction Treatment

Even though Meloxicam addictive potential is not significant, it is important to note that the potential for abuse always exists. Although Meloxicam withdrawal signs are not very extreme when its use is discontinued, patients can experience some adverse effects, such as the pain they initially treated may suddenly return. Further side effects of leaving this medicine can also be observed in patients.

To assist the individual with Meloxicam abuse, a rehabilitation program is not always necessary, but it may be considered if other drugs are being abused in combination with this drug. This type of program would provide a person with personalized therapy created by a health professional who understands the patient’s level of abuse and develops a treatment plan suited to the particular patient’s needs. The patient may be provided with an alternative to Mobic for a short period. Additional detoxification may also be provided to get Meloxicam out of the system faster, reduce the risk of experiencing withdrawal symptoms and relapse.

If there is an underlying psychological problem responsible for Meloxicam abuse, psychological therapy catering to a patient’s individual needs is necessary.

When patients know what Meloxicam is and how it acts on the human body, it becomes easier to cope with dependence.

    Avoiding Mobic Abuse

This medication is popular due to its relative safety and efficacy in the treatment of arthritis as compared to opioids. Although abuse or addiction to this drug is not very common, it has been observed in a significant number of people. Patients should be aware of the potential side effects that may appear after Meloxicam abuse. If this medication is abused, there is a risk of overdose, which can become fatal without professional medical treatment and even cause the person to enter into a coma. However, a few simple steps can help overcome the addiction to this drug if it happens.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Is Meloxicam a Strong Painkiller?

Yes. It is a potent NSAID prescribed for the treatment of pain associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile arthritis. It acts directly on the cyclooxygenase (COX 1 and 2), which play an essential role in inflammation, hence stopping inflammation. It is stronger than similar NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and has similar effectiveness as opioids.

Should I Take Meloxicam at Night or in the Morning?

The time of day when it is taken depends upon a patient’s specific needs, and a doctor can suggest a time or change it based on the patient’s specific case. For example, it can be taken in the morning so that its effects, which include insomnia, last during the day and do not disturb the patient’s sleep during the night. However, some patients might feel that they can get better sleep at night if they take a dose before going to bed so that the pain does not disturb their sleep.

How Long Can You Take Meloxicam?

The tolerance of this medicine for as much as 18 months is good compared to standard NSAIDs. So this medication can be taken up to 15 mg once a day without adverse effects for most patients. Only a small fraction of patients experience GI bleeding and consequently have to discontinue the use before this period.

Is Meloxicam Safe to Take Daily?

Meloxicam is prescribed as a once-daily medication as it has been found to be safe and effective at this dosage to treat arthritis-associated pain. For adults, the initial dose is 7.5 mg once a day, and the maximum dosage is 15 mg once a day.

Painkiller Choices with Kidney or Heart Problems

What to do if you have heart problems or kidney disease

When people have pain, they often take pain medicines called NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). These include:

    • Advil and Motrin (generic and store-brand ibuprofen). Ibuprofen is also in other over-the-counter drugs, such as cold medicines.
    • Aleve (generic and store-brand naproxen).
    • Celebrex (generic celecoxib).

NSAIDs help ease pain and inflammation. But if you have high blood pressure, heart failure, or kidney disease, you should not take an NSAID. And you should not take any drugs that have ibuprofen or another NSAID in them. Here’s why:

NSAIDs are bad for your blood pressure.

NSAIDs can cause high blood pressure. And if you have high blood pressure, they can make it worse. This increases your chances of having a heart attack or a stroke.

NSAIDs can also keep some blood pressure drugs from working right. NSAIDs can interfere with:

    • Diuretics, or water pills, such as Hydrodiuril (generic hydrochlorthiazide). Diuretics remove excess water from the blood vessels.
    • ACE inhibitors, such as Prinivil and Zestril (generic lisinopril). ACE inhibitors are drugs that relax the blood vessels.
    • ARBs such as Cozaar (generic losartan). ARBs are another group of drugs that relax the blood vessels.

NSAIDs are bad for your heart and kidneys.

Long-term use of NSAIDs can make your body hold onto fluid. This can make the symptoms of heart failure, such as shortness of breath, swollen ankles, and a rapid or irregular heartbeat, worse. NSAIDs can also keep the kidneys from working well. This makes taking NSAIDs risky for people who already have kidney disease.

Which painkillers can you use if you have heart or kidney disease?

There is no simple answer. The best painkiller to use depends on your health problems. It also depends on any other drugs you take. Be sure to tell your doctor about any prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, or herbal medicines you take.

Over-the-counter Tylenol (generic acetaminophen) is often the best choice for people with high blood pressure, heart failure, or kidney problems.

    • However, high doses of Tylenol can damage the liver, so take the lowest dose you can to get enough pain relief.
    • Never take more than 4,000 milligrams (mg) a day. That’s equal to twelve 325 mg pills.

If Tylenol or generic acetaminophen do not work, ask your doctor about using a stronger prescription painkiller, such as Ultram (generic tramadol) for a short time.

    • If you have kidney problems, do not take more than 200 mg a day. And take it once every 12 hours to limit the risk of side effects.
    • Do not use tramadol if you have epilepsy or if you take Paxil (generic paroxetine), Prozac (generic fluoxotine), or Zoloft (generic sertraline). Taking tramadol with these drugs can increase your risk of seizures.

Guidelines to Help Reduce COX-2 Selective Drugs Side Effects

Doctors have long prescribed nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to ease the pain and inflammation of arthritis and other types of pain. They achieve their benefits by inhibiting certain inflammation-causing chemicals in the body called prostaglandins (PG). NSAIDs block enzymes in the body, called cyclooxygenase (or COX), that play a role in prostaglandin production. Prostaglandins are mediators of inflammation in the joints. Traditional NSAIDs inhibit both COX-1 and COX-2. However, it has been found that COX-1 plays an important role in protecting the stomach lining; thus, its inhibition can lead to the stomach irritation and ulcers seen when people take most NSAIDs. It appears that for the control of arthritic and other painful symptoms, it is more important for a drug to block COX-2, which is produced in the body in the setting of inflammation.

Thus, medical scientists have sought to develop newer NSAIDs that are less likely to cause such gastrointestinal (GI) problems. There have been some debates about which drugs are more specific for COX-2 than others, which relates to different methods of testing the drugs. The most agreed-upon system of classifying the COX specificity of NSAIDs divides the agents into three groups:

    • The traditional group blocks as much, or almost as much, COX-1 as COX-2. (See our review on traditional NSAIDs.)
    • The second group of drugs are COX-2 selective, that is, are simply more apt to block COX-2 than COX-1. Of the drugs marketed in the US, these are meloxicam (brand name Mobic) and nabumetone (Relafen). In Europe, nimesulide is also classified in this “selective” group.
    • The third category of COX specificity is the “COX-2-specific” group of NSAIDs. This third group includes celecoxib (Celebrex). On December 17, 2004, Pfizer reported that a long-term study of celecoxib (looking at its effect on polyps in the colon) showed an increased risk of cardiovascular side effects, although another similar celecoxib study did not find this increased risk. Celebrex remains available, with indications for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute pain, menstrual pain, and ankylosing spondylitis (an inflammatory disease involving the spine). Patients who are taking celecoxib should discuss the pros and cons of using this medication in its particular situation, considering how much the medication is helping as well as other medical conditions they may have (or be at risk for).

The literature on GI side effects with these medications is extensive and still somewhat controversial, but the weight of the evidence still suggests that both the COX-2 selective and COX-2 specific agents have fewer GI side effects than older NSAIDs, as well as fewer of the more serious GI side effects, such as bleeding or perforation of an ulcer.

For the rest of this discussion, the term “COX-2s” will be used to include the COX-2-selective agent celecoxib (Celebrex). There is not sufficient literature at the moment to allow us to clearly separate the relative safety between these selective and specific drugs, and the choice is often made based on the physician’s impression of their relative effectiveness. Overall, the COX-2s appear to be equally effective in controlling inflammation compared to the older, less selective NSAIDs, but they are considerably more expensive. Thus, the COX-2 inhibitors are used in patients who are at high risk for stomach irritation, including: the elderly; those with a history of NSAID-induced stomach irritation or intolerance; and those taking other drugs that increase the risk of stomach problems; or those who have other diseases (like heart or lung problems) that appear to increase the risk of ulcers.

For some patients, the risk of ulcer is so high that the physician may choose to give a COX-2 selective or specific agent and also add a medication to protect the stomach (see below). For other patients, the ulcer risk may simply be too high to recommend using these drugs at all, as in a patient who is actively being treated for a documented ulcer.

If any of the following guidelines are not clear, or if you think it does not apply to you, discuss the issue with your physician.

    Gastrointestinal Symptoms

Although these drugs appear to be less likely to irritate the stomach than traditional NSAIDs, it can happen.

    • Stop the drug and call your physician immediately if you have any severe abdominal pain or a black, tarry stool (bowel movement) or any blood in your stool, which are signs of internal bleeding.
    • Although the manufacturers say that these drugs can be taken on an empty stomach, to help reduce irritation of the stomach and prevent an ulcer, take NSAIDs at the end of a full meal, or with antacid.
    • Limit alcohol intake (since alcohol can irritate the stomach).

The FDA placed the following black box warning regarding GI symptoms with Celebrex®:

“Gastrointestinal Risk: NSAIDs, including Celebrex, cause an increased risk of serious gastrointestinal adverse events including bleeding, ulceration, and perforation of the stomach or intestines, which can be fatal. These events can occur at any time during use and without warning symptoms. Elderly patients are at greater risk for serious gastrointestinal (GI) events.”

    Allergies

Celecoxibis contra-indicated in patients with allergy to sulfa-containing drugs (sulfonamides). Such drugs include the antibiotic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim, Septra). If you are thinking of taking celecoxib, make sure that you do not have a history of allergy to such drugs. If you aren’t sure if a drug you had a bad reaction to fits in this category, ask your physician. If you are allergic to sulfa-containing drugs, do not take celecoxib.

    Heart Problems

Rofecoxib (Vioxx), a COX-2 specific agent, was removed from the market on 9/30/04 due to questions of increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. Users of the remaining COX-2 inhibitor, celecoxib (Celebrex), or COX-2 selective agents, such as meloxicam (Mobic) should be aware that these drugs are not blood thinners. Therefore, some patients whom their physicians feel are at higher than average cardiac risk may need to be given low-dose aspirin to help reduce heart attack risk. Even though adding aspirin to one of these agents may increase risk of ulcer, for a number of patients this risk may be worth taking, in view of the need for heart protection. However, although there is very good evidence that low-dose aspirin helps protect against heart attacks in patients with coronary disease, it is not yet clearly established that this effectiveness still applies in patients taking medications such as Celebrex or Mobic – or any of the NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents).

Also, the FDA has required a block box warning about cardiovascular thrombotic events be placed in the package description of all NSAIDs, including COX-2 specific and selective agent, and patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease need to weigh the risks and benefits with their physician before taking any NSAID or COX-2 specific or selective agent. The “black box warning” for Celebrex related to cardiovascular risk reads as follows:

“Cardiovascular Risk: Celebrex may cause an increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction, and stroke, which can be fatal. All NSAIDs may have a similar risk. This risk may increase with duration of use. Patients with cardiovascular disease or risk factors for cardiovascular disease may be at greater risk.”

    Skin Reactions

Serious skin reactions have occurred in people taking COX-2 inhibitors. These are rare occurrences, but have included potentially life-threatening hypersensitivity reactions. Because many of these reactions were voluntarily reported after the drug was marketed, it is not possible to estimate their frequency or whether they are indeed related to the drug. Severe skin rashes were a major reason for the withdrawal of valdecoxib (Bextra), another COX-2 specific NSAID, from the market, according to the FDA. Therefore, if you experience any rash while you are taking Celebrex, stop taking it immediately and call your doctor.

    Dosing

When you are trying on of these drugs for the first time, take the full dose prescribed every day, unless instructed otherwise. It may take as long as two weeks to build up to a “blood level” of the drug, and the drug may not help very much until then. If you take the drug irregularly, you may never know whether it actually can help you. This could lead to your being switched to a second drug when the first one actually could have helped. Each new drug you take carries a risk of allergic reaction (such as skin rash). Therefore, it’s important to find out if a drug can help you before switching to another.

Do not exceed the dose of the drug prescribed. The extra benefit is usually small and the increased risk is significant.

If you are taking the medicine regularly and miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.

If your arthritis improves, discuss with your physician the possibility of decreasing your dose of the NSAID.

Combining COX-2s and NSAIDs with Other Drugs

    • Do not mix one COX-2 or NSAID with another. For example, don’t take ibuprofen with any other NSAID or with any COX-2. Discuss with your physician whether you should take aspirin with your COX-2 agent – the risk vs benefit is different in individual patients.
    • Acetaminophen, especially in low dose, appears less likely to irritate the stomach than NSAIDs, so in many cases it reasonable to take it along with NSAIDs. Always read the ingredients listed on the label of over-the-counter products. If acetylsalicylic acid or salicylate is listed, it may be better not to take this with NSAIDs, unless advised by your physician. Keep in mind that Alka-Seltzer, Anacin, some types of Excedrin, and even Pepto-Bismol contain aspirin.
    • If you are taking medications for high blood pressure, have your pressure checked regularly while on the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. This is especially important within the first several weeks of starting the drug. In some patients, COX-2 agents can elevate the blood pressure.

When to Stop the Drug and Get Immediate Medical Attention

    • If signs of allergy occur, such as rapid breathing, gasping, wheezing, hives, skin rashes, puffy eyelids, and/or rapid heart beat occur.
    • If you develop vision abnormalities.
    • If you develop dizziness, depression, or confusion.
    • If you develop yellowing of the eyes that could indicate liver injury (Note that liver injury is rare and your liver function is checked when you have standard chemistry blood tests, which should be done periodically when you are taking an NSAID).
    • If your urine becomes cloudy or bloody, the amount of urine you pass suddenly decreases, or you develop new ankle swelling, all of which could indicate kidney problems. This is especially important to watch for if your kidney function has been noted, on lab testing, to have been abnormal in the past.

When to Call Your Doctor About Changing Dosage or Medications

    • If you develop swelling of the ankles or sudden weight gain after starting one of these drugs due to fluid retention.
    • If you develop decreased hearing or ringing in your ears.
    • If you are planning to get pregnant, or become pregnant.

    What are NSAIDs?

NSAID stands for “non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. ” These anti-inflammatory medications relieve some lupus symptoms by reducing the inflammation responsible for the stiffness and discomfort in your muscle, joints, and other tissues. NSAIDs are milder than many other lupus drugs and may be taken either alone to treat a mild flare or in combination with other medications. NSAIDs come in both prescription and over-the-counter forms, but you should always talk to your doctor before taking any over-the-counter medication. There are many NSAIDs currently on the market; common examples include ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Naprosyn, Alleve), etodolac (Lodine), celecoxib (Celebrex), and meloxicam (Mobic). Everyone responds differently to different medications, so you and your doctor should work together to find the most effective NSAID for your lupus symptoms.

    How do NSAIDs work?

NSAIDs work at a chemical level by blocking the formation of molecules in your body called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are involved in both your body’s normal “maintenance” and your body’s inflammatory response. These prostaglandins are controlled by enzymes—proteins that help to bring about chemical changes in your body—called Cox-1 and Cox-2. Specifically, Cox-1 controls the formation of the prostaglandins involved in the normal function of many of your body’s organs. Cox-2 controls the formation of the prostaglandins involved in your body’s inflammatory response. So, by stopping your body from making prostaglandins, NSAIDs allow you to experience less swelling and less pain.

Most NSAIDs block both Cox-1 and Cox-2 enzymes. Since the Cox-1 enzyme helps some of your organ systems to function normally, you may experience some side effects when taking NSAIDs, such as upset stomach. [A full list of possible side effects can be found below.] However, some newer NSAIDs, such as celecoxib (Celebrex), block only the Cox-2 enzyme, which may help your body to avoid some of the more traditional side effects. A Cox-2 inhibitor is sometimes called a “selective” inhibitor. Your doctor will help you to decide which type of NSAID works best to treat your lupus symptoms, while minimizing the possible side effects.

What side effects can occur from taking NSAIDs?

NSAIDs can cause certain side effects. These side effects can be similar to symptoms of increased lupus, so it is important to notify your doctor if they occur. Most side effects will go away once the drug is stopped. Some side effects will only be apparent from your blood tests, so it is important to get regular complete blood counts (CBCs) every 3-4 months, including tests of your liver and kidney function.

Potential side effects of NSAIDs include:

    • Upset Stomach
    • Headache
    • Easy bruising
    • High blood pressure
    • Fluid retention
    • Dyspepsia (gnawing or burning pain in the pit of your stomach, sometimes with bloating)
    • Gastritis (stomach inflammation) or gastric ulcers may occur, causing either hidden or apparent bleeding. This blood loss may lead to anemia.
    • Increased risk of heart attack or stroke.
    • Effects on blood platelets, cells that help your blood to clot normally – Most NSAIDs have some effect on blood platelets. When platelet function is reduced, it takes longer for your blood to clot. While this effect can be bad for some, it can be beneficial for others. In fact, aspirin is often prescribed to reduce the risk of blood clots in people who have antiphospholipid antibodies. However, it is important that you speak to your doctor before taking any NSAIDs if you are on low-dose aspirin therapy, since certain NSAIDs such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Rufen) can interfere with the effectiveness of this treatment. Selective inhibitors (Celebrex) do not affect platelets.
    • If you already have blood pressure or kidney problems, NSAIDs may worsen kidney function. Fluid retention or further elevation in blood pressure may occur. Reduced kidney function can occur with either Cox-1 or Cox-2 inhibitors. If you have lupus nephritis, you and your doctor should closely supervise your use of NSAIDs to reduce the potential for further harm to your kidneys.
    • Occasionally lupus patients may experience elevations in their liver enzyme blood tests, suggesting a mild liver inflammation (hepatitis). Usually this does not mean that the medication must be stopped, but liver tests should be performed on a regular basis.
    • Worsening of symptoms in people with asthma or inflammatory bowel disease.
    • Severe headache with neck stiffness may occur exclusively in people with lupus, usually only with ibuprofen.
    • Skin rashes can occur, either in the form of hives or a light- or sun-sensitive rash. Sometimes these rashes can mimic a flare of your lupus, so it is important you speak with your doctor if you experience this reaction. This reaction is more common with piroxicam (Feldene)

What if NSAIDs irritate my stomach?

Always take NSAIDs with food to help protect your stomach from irritation. If you experience stomach pain or other side effects when taking NSAIDs, your doctor may prescribe medications to control these symptoms. Medications such as cimetidine (Tagamet), ranitidine (Zantac), omeprazole (Prilosec), and lansoprazole (Prevacid) help your stomach from producing acid. Misoprostol (Cytotec) may help to maintain the protective lining of your stomach wall. It is important to remember that you may experience stomach irritation from one NSAID but not another. Speak with your doctor if you are experiencing stomach pain. There could be another drug that works better for you.

What should I keep in mind if I have been taking NSAIDs for a long time?

If you have been undergoing long term NSAID therapy, you should have your blood count measured periodically (a test called a CBC) to make sure you are not experiencing any hidden gastric bleeding. This type of bleeding can cause anemia, which affects your blood’s ability to clot and can lead to easy bruising.

Limit your alcohol intake while taking NSAID medications, since alcohol can irritate the stomach. People taking NSAID medications should not smoke. In fact, individuals with lupus should not smoke at all due to their increased risk of cardiovascular disease (the number one cause of death in lupus patients).

Lastly, it is important that you talk to your doctor about any other medications—prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements—that you may be taking.

Can I take NSAIDs if I am pregnant or thinking of having a baby?

NSAIDs are forbidden during pregnancy, even while trying to conceive.

Talk to your doctor if you:

    • Have decreased kidney or liver function, or an uncontrolled or undiagnosed liver problem (for example, hepatitis)
    • Have ever had an ulcer, gastritis, or bleeding from the intestinal tract
    • Take blood thinners (anticoagulants) like Coumadin, heparin, aspirin, or Plavix
    • Take steroids such as prednisone
    • Have a low platelet count
    • Have Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis
    • Have a history of stroke, heart attack, hypertension, or congestive heart failure
    • Have asthma or chronic lung disease
    • Are allergic to aspirin or any other NSAIDs
    • Have nasal polyps
    • Have ‘reflux disease,’ indigestion, or hiatal hernia
    • Are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breast feeding
    • Drink more than 7 alcoholic drinks per week or more than 1 per day
    • Are over 65
    • Do not accept blood products due to religious or other reasons.

Get emergency help right away if you experience any of the following symptoms:

    • Chest pain
    • Shortness of breath
    • Weakness in one part of the body
    • Slurred speech.

Medicare Coverage of Mobic – eHealthMedicare

    Find affordable Medicare plans

Medicare generally doesn’t cover the prescription drug Mobic, or other medications taken at home, unless you are enrolled in a stand-alone Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan or a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan.

    Will Medicare cover Mobic?

Mobic, the brand-name formulation of the generic prescription drug meloxicam, is used to treat symptoms of swelling, pain, and tenderness associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Library of Medicine. Mobic belongs to a class of medications known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs, that work by suppressing a substance in the body that causes inflammation and pain.

If you are enrolled in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), you generally do not have coverage for prescription drugs such as Mobic that are taken at home. Under Original Medicare, Mobic would typically be covered only if you received it as an inpatient in a nursing home or hospital during a covered stay.

However, if you have prescription drug coverage under a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, your plan may pay for treatment with Mobic. To find out, consult your plan’s formulary, which is a list of medications covered under the plan and the type of coverage available for each. Medicare Prescription Drug Plans are offered by private insurance companies contracted with Medicare; each company determines which medications are included in the formulary, subject to federal Medicare regulations. Plans can change their formularies at any time, but they must notify you in writing when they do.

How do I get Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage for Mobic?

Enrollment in a stand-alone Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan is entirely voluntary. However, if you think you’ll want Medicare coverage for prescription drugs such as Mobic, it’s a good idea to enroll as soon as you are eligible. If you don’t, you may have to pay a late-enrollment penalty with your monthly premium for as long as you have Medicare Part D coverage.

Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage is available in two ways:

    • As a stand-alone Prescription Drug Plan you enroll in to complement your benefits under Original Medicare and certain other types of Medicare health plans
    • As part of a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan (MAPD)

Even though Medicare Part D may help cover costs for prescription drugs such as Mobic, you may still be responsible for annual deductible, copayments, or coinsurance. Also, your premium may vary depending on the plan you choose and where you live. Note that you need to be eligible for Medicare and be enrolled in either Part A and/or Part B before you may enroll in a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan, and you have to live within the plan’s service area.

With certain types of Medicare Advantage plans that don’t offer prescription drug coverage, you may be able to add a stand-alone Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan.

90,000 Mobile-friendly won’t affect your AdWords Quality Score

Keith O’Donovan of Google AdWords said Mobile-friendly filter will not affect Quality Scores in AdWords, according to seroundtable.com .

As a reminder, on April 21, Google officially launched a filter that lowers smartphone search results for sites that are not adapted for mobile phones.

In the West, the launch of the filter has already been called “mobilegeddon”, since not all sites, even the most popular ones, meet the criteria that Google sets for mobile resources.

According to Google experts, the “mobile algorithm” should have affected about 11% of queries, which makes mobile-friendly the strongest filter in terms of impact on search results. Even stronger than Penguin and Panda.

According to preliminary data from the search engine, now about half of all requests are made from smartphones, so the scale of changes in the search results was expected to be significant.

In particular, out of 25 thousand popular sites, 10 thousand have not passed the Google test for “mobility”. Potential “victims” of the filter include sites from brands such as Versace, Microsoft Windows Phone, Nintendo, Danone , etc. However, in the case of branded queries, the filter will not touch them. According to the agency Merkle | RKG at the beginning of April, 46% of companies from the Fortune 500 list do not have a mobile-optimized version of the site.25% of TOP retailers do not have it either, according to the Wall Street Journal .

Meanwhile, Google notes that since the announcement of the filter, and about two months have passed, the number of smartphone-friendly sites has grown by 4.7%. Business is forced to adapt to changes in order not to lose the gained positions.

Merkle Research Director Mark Ballard stated that while this behavior is inconvenient for Google, a mobile site is still an important aspect of an Internet business.

If you are a retailer, then mobile traffic is important to you and will become more important and more important in the future. Google’s initiative allows to” drag “those who remained in the past into the 21st century “, – concluded Ballard.

At an online meeting with users, Google specialists noted that mobile and desktop search results may diverge more and more in the future. The fact is that most mobile users use the Internet for searching, not for entertainment.Accordingly, there is nothing surprising in the fact that desktop and mobile users behave differently and, accordingly, they need different results.

    Business mobile-friendly is not afraid

Head of SEO at uSwitch.com Lukasz Zhelezny said that the new filter will benefit small businesses that will receive more traffic.

Small businesses are more flexible and faster. Small business tech teams can quickly make site changes and rank high.Large companies are clumsy and have complex infrastructure. They will make changes longer than “, – Zhelezny is sure.

However, this advantage will be short-lived. According to the head of the Russian representative office of Wix. com Nikita Sherman , all major services will rely on mobile. This is facilitated by the explosive growth in the popularity of mobile search in the world. “Mobile Internet is currently experiencing explosive growth and, as data transmission technologies develop, the coverage of mobile communications and Wi-Fi networks expands, both the number of users and the intensity of use will increase.Facebook made a bet on mobile a couple of years ago, today it is Google, which means that tomorrow it will inevitably be done in one way or another by all the other , “he added.

CMO Marin Software Matt Oakley in Forbes.com comment stated that he does not understand why the filter is called “mobilegedon”. In his opinion, creating a mobile version of a website is not difficult and not so expensive. And those who did this should now be overjoyed.

Such sites will receive more traffic and, accordingly, will be able to receive more conversions than resources that have not created mobile versions. Google is using the carrot-and-stick method to nudge webmasters into the mobile era. And the new filter is a stick of , “says Oakley.

However, the majority of business representatives are absolutely sure that mobile-friendly will not seriously affect their work. Mobile search traffic is not critical for companies.

So, for example, a technical expert of the company Kokos.com ( Kokoc Group ) Alexey Chekushin is sure that now mobile-friendly will not affect the issue.

Right now, mobile-friendly will not have a strong impact on search engine optimization. Firstly, it is quite easy to imitate the loyalty of a site to mobile devices. Secondly, the share of mobile traffic is not so high yet, and its conversion for commercial requests, to put it mildly , leaves much to be desired. This algorithm Google works for the future 2-3 years “, – Chekushin is sure.

The product director of REG.RU Taras Antyukhov does not see a problem in the new filter either. The revenue of most sites will not be affected by the “mobilization” of Google.

Today, for most sites on the Runet, changing the Google algorithm is not a problem, since the main search traffic that generates income still comes from desktops, laptops and netbooks, but this is a reason to adjust the strategy for the further development of Internet resources. adaptation of sites for mobile devices, the market has been ready for this for a long time. Now there are many designers with CMS, which allow both to create separate mobile versions and to design pages using responsive web design “, – concluded Antyukhov.

So the scale of the tragedy seems to be exaggerated. It is unlikely that the filter will seriously harm Russian sellers.

In the meantime, everyone is discussing the new filter in search results, Google decided to continue “mobile” experiments. For example, the mobile-friendly tag appeared in the mobile SERP AdWords .

True, the company notes that this is still just an experiment. And there is no talk of a full-scale reformatting of the mobile issue of AdWords yet, according to thesempost.com .

    There briefly

So, I wanted to ask you:
Now, to regulate certain prices, you do not need to fight with anyone – there are other methods.
Opek + promised not to increase their oil production so that prices remained high in response to Biden when he decided to dump 50 million barrels on the market.
    But
On the eve of the OPEC + meeting itself, they immediately found Omicron infected in the United States, began to consider restrictions on flights (which is already creating pressure)
And the oil fell to the floor. Or it may be that the United States just hinted:
    * Guys, if you don’t increase production, you will sell your oil for $ 40 and we can do it *
And then, contrary to expectations, OPEC + increased production.
Just interested in your opinion 👁:
    $ MUR $ XOM $ GAZP $ RIG

    Now about assets

$ ESPR many theories, many versions for everyone
From 2015 to 2019, the company almost did not spend money, apparently, the research was extremely cheap.
In 2020, when the drug was approved, the company began to spend as if not into itself (increased the staff, went the cost of promotion, advertising, resumed research for indications)
Debts were growing catastrophically, but the price was $ 70-50, and sales were not so strong
The management did not even think of announcing a supplement ($ ALLO, at one time, having $ 700 million on board, immediately spent an additional $ 400 million, as soon as the price touched $ 50, $ ATRA carried out an additional supplement of the same from $ 50 twice)

I don’t think there’s a stupid leadership here, I think they were hinted that they don’t need to do this.
Maybe they gave money – I don’t know.Funds and some banks began to short them, in parallel I draw forecasts for $ 200, we went in and drew mountains of gold in our head, although even then it was clear that there would not be enough money for a long time.
And when everyone was head over heels, #GS immediately drew a forecast of $ 8
If they had carried out an additional $ 50-70, they would not have had to dilute so many shares, and the price would have reached a maximum of $ 25-40
But the foundations wouldn’t make much of it. Who needs some pathetic 100%
I would like to take 700%.
An additional 30 million shares will dilute us exactly 2 times. But this will be enough for a year, and then in a new way

$ EXEL had a similar situation in 2015.
The company did crazy adjustments, fired half of the staff, sent all the money to prove the effectiveness of cabometix (its drug), but the price fell by as much as $ 1.
And then the company reached billions in revenue.

Dear, I do not know how far the price in $ ESPR will fall, but the fact that many will cut moose is a fact.
You must be aware of the risks.

Let’s say the popular $ AAL airline company
She has $ 37 billion in debts, and she works for $ 7 billion a year
Why investors believe in it when there is a normal $ DAL $ UAL I don’t know.It seems to me that the management of the company. $ AAL will come out and say
    – well, we will spend a billion on 2 shares here, do you mind? 😅

    $ TRIP
On a daily stock, it’s horror how oversold, but something tells me that these are not limits.
The company has accumulated debts, revenues have fallen, but it is understandable – tourism after all.
It seems to me that it will drop to 22 there and will live for now, I do not take into account the March bottom – this is appendicitis on the schedule of travel companies, but if it has already happened 🤔

    Investors are interested.
Open the borders and an avalanche of deferred demand money will immediately cover the company, but the impression is that they will never be opened at all 😂
The pace of recovery after 2020 is visible, indicating customer interest even in difficult times. You can little by little look at the purchase

I will continue in the comments

Hold on, dear, you need to develop critical thinking and not be led by.

as a “Mafia”, only in space – android.mobile-review.com

The game Among Us was first released in 2018, but it is only now being played in large quantities – it went viral among streamers and bloggers on Twitch and YouTube, and now it is played by more than 60 million people every day. Moreover, it became popular not in the midst of a global pandemic, but only in September.

Briefly Among Us can be described as – it’s like a card game “Mafia”, only a little more difficult and exclusively online. In “Mafia” there is a city with bandits, police, civilians and other characters, but in this game there is only a spaceship and a group of astronauts, among which there are one or more so-called impostors. One game can have from 4 to 10 participants and no more than three villains.

Players find themselves on the ship and roles are randomly assigned between them – astronaut (peaceful) or impostor (enemy). All characters look different, but it is impossible to determine by the appearance of the enemy, only by their actions. The essence of the game is in the imperceptible opposition of two teams. To win, astronauts need to complete all mini-tasks in different rooms of the ship or figure out the impostors, and the impostors need to kill all the peaceful crew members.

Mini-tasks are scattered throughout the ship – these are the most simple actions. To do this, for example, you need to connect your finger to the wires in the switchboard or collect garbage in a heap in the ventilation. The only difficulty is that at the same time a disguised villain is running around the level, whose goal is to kill everyone. He can sneak up on a lone astronaut while the others can’t see and kill him. Also, the impostor can hide in the shadows around the corner or quietly move along the ventilation in order to track down the victim, as well as arrange sabotage – close doors or break equipment on the ship.

If the player notices a corpse at the level, then he can call an emergency meeting, in which all participants vote against a possible enemy. Both a peaceful astronaut and an impostor who just killed this player can announce the alarm – this can further distract suspicions from yourself, but this does not always work. You can also announce the alarm without detecting a corpse, if someone is watching you suspiciously or just behaving strangely – for this there is a special button in the central room.

    • Map of the ship
    • Central room

The problem is that you are playing with real people, so it is not always possible to unite with everyone and vote against one person, as in the very “Mafia”.If the majority votes against someone, then he is thrown overboard – this may be the only or the last impostor, and then the peaceful participants win, but if the group kills the innocent, then the game continues.

This is the beauty of the Among Us game, especially if you manage to play with friends and simultaneously communicate with your voice. You have to constantly argue, suspect everyone and watch who is behaving strangely. If someone played “Mafia” with a suitable company, he will understand what this is about.Only in this game was it possible to combine interactivity with mini-tasks and social interaction in conditions where there is no way to gather in one place.

You can play on open servers with strangers, there is even a small charm in this – you have to communicate only through text chat, so you can rely only on yourself. But in this mode it is difficult to cooperate with the others and vote against one player, even if you know for sure that he is a stranger. Therefore, the pleasure of the process directly depends on the team that you come across. The audience of the game is huge, but most often they are schoolchildren or even children who cannot write coherently.

Among Us for Android and iOS is completely free – the developers earn money on advertisements that are periodically shown between matches, and on items to change the appearance of your character. Advertising does not interfere with the process in any way, and all the more you can do without attributes. The game is also available on Steam for 133 rubles.

The only nuance that I did not mention in the text is that there is no Russian language in the game. Game mechanics in Among Us are primitive, text is minimal, so problems due to the language barrier should not arise. The game is gradually being developed, so localization can be added with updates.

Exxonmobil Group: Mobil 1 and Esso engine oils

Exxonmobil concern: Mobil 1 and Esso

    engine oils

Quite often, motorists pay too much attention to the question of where exactly (in which country) the Mobil 1 or Esso engine oil that they plan to purchase is produced.Although in fact, the question is much more important – is this oil at all? The concern with almost 150 years of history really has many factories around the world, how different is the quality of their products?

Where are Mobil and Esso motor oils manufactured?

Exxon Mobil Corporation’s main manufacturing facilities are located in the United States, but there are also processing plants in Europe and Turkey. Motor oils, which are officially supplied to the CIS, are manufactured in Finland and Turkey, while base oils are produced mainly at the Exxon Mobil plant in Gravenchon (Normandy Peninsula, France), Europe’s largest plant. The same plant also produces final products (motor oils and greases) for Western European countries. Therefore, at private (“gray”) suppliers you can also find Mobil motor oils of French origin.

In addition, unofficial shipments of Mobil oils directly from the United States have recently increased. This is mainly due to the fact that some Mobil auto oils are not yet produced in Europe (for example, we are talking about low-viscosity energy-saving Mobil 1 oils (0W-20, 5W-20, 0W-30, 5W-30 and 10W-30), and some mineral oils).

Despite the actively spreading rumors about the spill of Mobil and Esso oils in Russia and Ukraine , there are no official Exxon Mobil production facilities in the CIS countries (perhaps not yet). Most likely, we are talking about “gray” manufacturers who buy oils in barrels, order packaging identical to the original, and pour oils into 1 and 4 liter canisters.handicraft way. Such oils can be safely attributed to counterfeit, because no one bears any responsibility for the real contents of the canister, and even if there really are Mobil products, it is far from the fact that it is exactly the oil that is indicated on the canister label.

Is there a difference in the quality of the French, Finnish and Mobil oils?

One can argue for a long time about whether there is a difference in the quality of Finnish, Turkish and French Mobil motor oils, but the standards of the concern remain unchanged, and therefore formally the quality is the same.

At the same time, given the “European” orientation of French oils and strict (and working at the same time) consumer protection laws in the EU countries, it can be assumed that the likelihood of deviations from the technological process and the use of additives of dubious quality at the Gravenchon Exxon Mobil plant is somewhat lower. than in Turkey or Finland, focused on unprotected consumers in the CIS.

Although, at the same time, there is absolutely no reason to assert that Mobil oils of Turkish or Finnish origin are of insufficient quality or can harm the engine. It is not the products of any particular Exxon Mobil plant that should be avoided – blatant counterfeiting should be avoided. And given the long-term popularity of Mobil oils, there are a lot of counterfeit oils with the label of this trade mark, unfortunately, in the CIS markets.

    The history of Mobil

    John Rockefeller

The history of the concern Exxonmobil , according to the official website, begins from 1859 , when Edwin Drake and Billy Smith drilled the first successful oil well in Pennsylvania. From that moment on, a big oil rush began in the United States.

In 1870, John Rockefeller with partner Henry Flagler founded the oil company Standard Oil Company , which eventually absorbed more than 90% of the refining industry and more than 30% of oil production in the United States. The largest acquisition deal was the acquisition in 1879 for $ 200,000 of three-quarters of the shares of Vacuum Oil , founded by Matthew Ewing and Hiram Everest in 1866 after receiving a patent for an invented technology for the production of lubricants by vacuum distillation of kerosene. It was the companies Jersey Standard and Vacuum Oil , which were controlled at that time by the Standard Oil Company and are considered the progenitors of the modern giant concern Exxonmobil.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Rockefeller gradually transfers the management of the concern’s companies to his partners and actively begins to engage in charity work. In addition, in 1911, the US Supreme Court, as a result of an antitrust investigation, decided to split the Standard Oil Company into 34 different companies, two of which, Jersey Standard and Vacuum Oil, would again merge 88 years later into the famous Exxonmobil concern.

    How Mobil and Esso

    trademarks appeared

First oil mixing plant Vacuum Oil

The first mention of motor oils with the name Mobiloil dates back to 1903, when the brothers Wilber and Orville Wright made the first historic flight to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. They used both fuel (Jersey Standard) and Mobiloil (Vacuum Oil) produced by the Standard Oil Company.

In 1926, Jersey Standard introduces the new Esso brand, under which a new fuel mixture is produced. In 1952, the world’s first multigrade engine oil, Exxon Uniflo 10W-30, was produced.

Since this advertising campaign in 1926, the tiger has become an integral part of the Esso

    labels.

And in 1959, an advertising campaign for Esso fuel was launched in the USA under the slogan “Put the tiger in the tank!”Since that time, the tiger has forever occupied a place of honor on the labels and advertising of Exxon products in general and the Esso brand in particular.

In 1966 (in honor of the 100th anniversary of its founding) Vacuum Oil changed its name to Mobil , and in 1972 the name also changed Jersey Standard – from that time the company was called Exxon .

In 1974, Mobil began producing fully synthetic engine oils under the new Mobil 1 brand.

And only in 1999 the Mobil and Exxon concerns officially merge , forming the supergiant Exxon Mobil Corporation .

    Chapter Three

So that you do not die of curiosity, I will tell you in advance that Rap went to Signor Mobic; about the latter it is time to give the readers objective information. While I am answering your questions, Rap is awaiting an appointment with Signor Mobic.

    Is he handsome or ugly?

Mobic was quite tall and fat, in general, you would say about him that he is not remarkable in anything, just like you and me; however, you are wrong – he had his own houses, he traded in vegetable oil, silk, rubber, horses, iron, and he owned the largest factory of children’s balloons. There were about two dozen pairs of shoes in his wardrobe. Everyone greeted him first, even those who had no business relationship with him and did not like him at all.Mobic thought this was natural.

    Did he have a family?

Signor Mobic had no family. Or maybe he did. When it comes to the bigwigs of the financial world, this is difficult to establish. It is only known that an old servant named Ademaro was very devoted to him.

This Ademaro has served Mobic for many years. How many times did poor Ademaro fly head over heels down the stairs! Maybe because Mobic kicked him? No, honestly, no. When Mobic first came to Bamba from the provinces, he was naked as a falcon; he invited the influential people of the city to dine in order to pave his way, make the necessary acquaintances, but after Mobic told the guests what delicacies they were going to serve – for example, partridges with truffles and potatoes flavored with aromatic herbs, selected asparagus and lobster, boiled alive in milk – and so, at that very moment Ademaro stumbled and fell from a low ladder that led to the dining room, where the guests were sitting with forks at the ready. The guests jumped up in fright, Mobic almost fainted at the sight of the servant sprawled on the floor and seemed so inconsolable that those invited had to give up the food, praised by Mobic. They disagreed, however, in the belief that Mobic was not only terribly rich, but also possessed a sensitive soul. Thus, at minimal cost, albeit with a serious health risk to Ademaro, who once went limp for a month and another time for two, Mobic managed to gain the trust of the best families in Bamba. Was he happy?

Thanks to the talkativeness of one locksmith, it became known that in the depths of our Mobik’s soul something torments, namely the fear of being left one fine day without any means of subsistence. Therefore, he ordered to build a dungeon with many constipations, which he filled to the brim with various products. “You never know,” he said, “what could happen.” But what if this hideout is discovered? And he ordered to build another, then a third, then another – so all the fields around the city turned into something like catacombs. In addition, he buried a diamond brooch at the foot of a tree in his park, hid a large pearl in the leg of a chair, sewed an emerald into a bandage that held his fat belly – Mobic was sure that in these places no one would ever think to look for jewelry … He also bought land in Upala, hoping that there will never be political unrest in this country. Ah, I completely forgot to say that he kept a cow in his apartment. “Whatever happens,” he used to say, “I will always have a glass of fresh milk.”The cow was looked after by a peasant who lived with her in a large room – water was supplied there, and the walls had asbestos lining so that huming would not disturb Mobic’s sleep.

    Did he love his workers?

I must say that his factories and plants were set as examples even abroad as exemplary. The productivity of workers was maximized thanks to one clever measure invented by Signor Mobic himself: when his workers got a little tired, they asked permission to go for a few minutes to the so-called “Mobic room” – a spacious room with bare walls – and there they shouted as much as they could fit: “Mobic – a robber, Mobic – a swindler! ” They left this room cheerful, cheerful, ready to continue their work with even greater zeal.

    What did he want?

On his way home one evening, he saw a shooting star in the sky of Bamba. He believed in the secret power of shooting stars and therefore immediately shouted: “I want …” – but from excitement the words got stuck in his throat, his thoughts got confused, and he said: “I want tra-la-la-la” Who knows, what was he trying to guess …

    Was he cheerful?

Sometimes he laughed; on New Year’s Eve he held a kind of reception, to which he invited his many employees. At these evenings, he liked to entertain those present with a game he had invented: he hid a ring in the living room. You will find it – the ring is yours. The guests began to search, and Signor Mobic urged them on. He laughed like a child, looking at the passing guests; when it seemed that someone was on the trail, everyone else rushed there, some kicked or bit their colleagues if they happened to be on their way; in the end, half dead with fatigue, panting, they applauded the one lucky enough to find the ring.

For the sake of such fun, Mobic was not shy about spending, at his receptions there was so much food and drink that would be enough for the whole city. “You see, he is not stingy at all,” said those who wanted to protect him from much more serious accusations.

    Was he conceited?

The fact that all the townspeople took off their hats and bowed low when they met him gave birth to the desired – well, guess which one? – to erect a monument to yourself. I deserve it, he told himself. When he expressed his desire to the governor, he tried to explain to him that usually monuments are erected to those who have already died, but Carmelo, Mobic’s secretary, recalled some cases when monuments were erected alive. The governor did not object any more and ordered the construction of a monument. Signor Mobic’s feet were already out of the block of marble when Mobic himself asked to stop working. And you know; why? For fear of the tax collector. Until then, Signor Mobic u managed to avoid meeting him. “The monument will remind him of me,” Mobic feared. And therefore I refused, I cannot convey – with what chagrin, from the monument. In order not to translate the marble in vain, they made a monument to another citizen of Bamba, this time – to the deceased, but for the love of truth, it should be reported that this monument has Mobic’s legs.

Perhaps you now know enough about Signor Mobic, and you can’t wait to get to the moment when the miracles begin. All in due time. In the meantime, let’s see what our Rap is doing in the waiting room.

Signor Mobic’s reception room was always full of people waiting for him. From time to time the secretary looked out from behind one door and said to one or the other: “I ask you to wait a minute longer,” and everyone smiled and answered: “Well, of course, for God’s sake”; it might seem that this expectation gives them great pleasure. Some very thin man of about fifty suddenly got up from his chair and, going up to Rap, said: “Do not forget me,” and then returned to his place and sat down again. This man, due to the fact that Signor Mobic did not want to accept him in any way, had a little clouded mind.He was convinced that the people he approached with these words would never forget him in their lives: “They can scream, pull their hair, cry, but the memory of me will remain forever.” He tried to remain in the memory of as many people as possible, in order to somehow recover from the humiliation he had experienced, to reward himself for the fact that he did not manage to appear before the bright eyes of Mobic.

In another corner a man with humble patience was waiting for an appointment for a very long time; he said that he has one project that Mobic should like.It was about a standing car. According to this project, passenger cars should have been made not horizontal, but vertical – such that they could stand in them at full height, maybe holding on to some kind of loop or handle, like in a tram. The goal of the project is to avoid that the sight of people lounging comfortably on the seat of a car evokes envy or even lower feelings in those who walk and look at them.

Suddenly the door of Mobic’s office opened, and from there, whistling merrily, a young man, a certain Ankize, came out.Ankize had a sleepwalking uncle who, for many years, at night with his eyes closed and his arms outstretched in one nightgown, ran along the headboards and along the eaves of houses – every night at the same hour. Ankise got a loan from Mobik in order to put benches and chairs in the yard and show it all as an acrobatic attraction.

There was also a man with a child in the waiting room. This man had once served as a courier for Carlit, almost as big as Mobic. He was fired, and since then at home, giving vent to his indignation, he reviled Signor Carlit day and night, and even beat a plate on the floor at dinner, of course not always, but quite often.

“I will crush him like … like …” he shouted, never finding a fitting comparison. The little boy asked him for an unusual Christmas present: “On the first day of Christmas you will kick Signor Carlita in the ass, I want to see it.” “I promise,” the former courier replied, having just slammed a plate on the floor. At Christmas they began to wait together for Signor Carlita in the street. It was snowing, of course. When Signor Carlitus appeared, they followed behind him; the snowfall was so thick that Signor Carlitus, in spite of all his might, sometimes seemed to them only a dark spot. “Come on!” – urged his son. “Now, one minute.” The father hesitated. In the end, the boy, seeing that his father could not make up his mind, began to whimper. Then the father with all his might gave a kick to the one in front. But he was not lucky this time either – he kicked in the ass not Signor Carlita, but someone else.

Was it really so difficult to get an appointment with Signor Mobic?

Impossible without a business card.Everyone except Rap had business cards in their hands. However, he was already included in the list, as he told the secretary: “I need to talk to Signor Mobic about one thing that starts with the letter ‘n’”.

Signor Mobic understood and agreed to listen to him.

    So Signor Mobic was smart?

You tired me with these questions of yours. Some doubted the talents of Signor Mobic, since it was known that he did not like lectures, reports, speeches very much. The reason for this was to be found in an incident that happened to him in the hall of the “Society of Reports and Lectures”, of which he was an honorary member or even president. The speaker, in truth a little wordy, noticing that Mr. Mobic is often distracted and does not listen, interrupting his speech, asked him point-blank: “What have I just said? Repeat! ” – Mobic confused and silently looked down.

    * * *

    So, Rap was accepted.

    – Speak, – Mobic told him, without raising his head from the piece of paper – he only pretended to write.

    – If you give me the amount needed to buy a cylinder, I will reveal to you where there is oil here, not far from Bamba. (Oil, as you may have noticed, begins with the letter “n”.)

Mobic, without raising his head, replied that conversations about the importance of oil are greatly exaggerated, that cylinders are now quite expensive and he himself, for example, does not have a cylinder. Rap was already afraid that his dream of a top hat would never come true. They talked a little more, and when Rap finally made up his mind and named the place, Mobic jumped up, kissed Rap and called Carmelo. He gave him the order to buy up all the land on the northern outskirts of the city within an hour and give Rapu money as a reward for the purchase of a cylinder.

So Rap returned home in the evening with a top hat on his head. He saw the village from afar: since it was a festive day, celluloid balls danced on the streams of fountains, the rays of the setting sun sparkled and shimmered on the tin shacks. The picture was very beautiful, and, no doubt, one of those boys who ran along the streets of the village, until old age, will remember the sun glare, the joy and calmness of that late afternoon.

But Rap was not moved. Faced with Toto, he greeted him, but he did not have the courage to look his friend in the eye, and he immediately slipped into his hut; unfortunately, he completely forgot about the cylinder and hit his head on the door lintel, the cylinder flew off and rolled on the ground. Toto did not even notice the top hat, because he was busy brushing dust off his plaster statues, which were almost all the same and depicted a girl with a slightly raised leg and a dove in her hand.

Toto was very fond of these statues for decorating gardens, especially one of them, on which there was not the slightest crack, not the slightest scratch, it came out absolutely smooth and shiny.

I will not say that he was in love with her, but, undoubtedly, the thought came into his head quite often: “Now, if there were a woman like this in the world, I would be really happy.” Toto was still contemplating the statue when he was called out.

“They’re asking you here,” said Beebe.

Toto saw two men in black, with stiff celluloid collars.

“We are couriers,” they said. They had some kind of paper in their hands.

    – This land belongs to Signor Mobic, you need to free it immediately.Everyone should be evicted from here.

Toto was dumbfounded. He tried to explain his reasons to them, but they were in a hurry and did not listen to him.

“No talking,” they said. “Not a single person should be here by tomorrow. – And they left.

“It’s impossible,” Eleuterio said. – Is it possible that with the help of one such small piece of paper they can evict us from here?

“No, it’s impossible,” the others confirmed.
